Pretty realistic. Yet more reasons JK Rowling is a terrible writer.

Why did I read this? It just made me cry
MichaelSeverusGajda chapter 2 . 1/3/2018
Oh God...
Why exactly I'm reading stories like that? I can't get it out of my head...
*Harry Potter grew up in CUPBOARD UNDER THE STAIRS...*
I read things like that, so I know and remember.
Rainbow Prime chapter 2 . 10/19/2017
Wouldn't either scenario here just remove the horcrux in Harry's scar? I mean, in the seventh book, he totally died and came back, so wouldn't the same thing have happened here? Bonus Point: In both cases, this would have solved his problem. In scenario A: he would've drifted down the river far enough that by the time that he woke up, he wouldn't know where he was, and surely there would've been some helpful person who could've taken him in. In scenario B: the way that Voldemort was possessing him was through the horcrux, so destroying the horcrux would've destroyed the link between the two. So, in a way, in Harry's case at least, at least until the horcrux isn't inside of him, suicide is ALWAYS the answer!
Rainbow Prime chapter 1 . 10/19/2017
But... the horcruxes would make sure that, even with a nuclear bomb, Voldemort wouldn't die. He'd just return as a spirit again, and this time he might possess a Muggle with access to the nuclear weapons, and fire them at another country, thus beginning World War III.

I was already sad, now I feel like crying.
The first one was way more emotional until the part of Dumbledore.
I would have thought Harry would write a letter in the second one but I do realise that this fits him more.

Very good writen. Now i'm very sad.
And glad I did not think about killing myself for a month or so. I could not do that to my familie.

EmmaWeaslette chapter 2 . 2/27/2017
what did everyone in Grimmauld Place do?
Saissa chapter 1 . 9/4/2016
No, not because Dumbles COULDN'T take care of a little boy. If he had wanted to, he had the means, the money and the political power to have that boy placed with his true guardians - someone who was listed on his parents will.

No, this all happened because Dumbles could not be BOTHERED to take care of a little boy. As the End Note says - Knowingly leaving Harry at the Dursleys, and being so naive to think that family would NEVER EVER hurt one of their own, is what got Dumbles into this mess.

He just has to look at his own family for the same story happening there. His sister Ariana was attacked, the father went to jail, Ariana was treated poorly by the family and the public - and then she was killed. If you look close enough - Ariana's life was quite similar to Harry's.

So Dumbles, this does NOT Happen only in the Muggle world. Child abuse also happens in the wizarding world as well, but you deliberately close your eyes to it.

You naively choose to follow the path of constantly giving everyone second and third and fourth chances, hoping to bring everyone back to the light - to make them all good. It's clear to me that your dream will never ever become reality - and also that you never studied any PSYCHOLOGY at all! really.
Shian1998 chapter 2 . 8/20/2016
Great couple of one-shots! Very sad, yet also very realistic for those situations. Dumbledore, just about everything you did was a major screw up. One thing I don't understand about these books; how on Earth did everyone continue to blindly trust him? How did no one (with the exception of his brother Aberforth) ever notice that he basically allowed Voldemort, Grindlewald, and all their followers to continue getting away with their crimes, while committing his own crimes at the same time? Great job!
Estelle Lumene chapter 2 . 8/18/2016
It would a kicker if the bus was the Knight Bus. Society killed the teenager or something like that. Magical allegory.
HpHeart chapter 2 . 11/11/2015
Oh my goodness I oove this chapter! Though it nearly made me cry. I aslo want to point out that you have greatly improved your grammer and use of tenses between the two. Great job!
tms827 chapter 2 . 9/30/2015
The second one was rather... ouch. I do wish it had a follow-up from everyone else's perspective, though.
I like this concept a lot, and hope you do more of them (Apparently I enjoy morbid things)
Reymen chapter 2 . 9/14/2015
That is not such a long jump to consider. Harry knows that Voldemort can posses people. He know that he have a connection with Voldemort. He know Dumbledore ignore him.

So if he manage to "figure it out" at the wrong time this would not be impossible. We know that Harry is not mentally stable and that he have the capability to martyr himself to stop Voldemort.
(Is "martyr himself" a proper sentence?)
