It could still not change the time line, For all Tommy boy and the others know his ancestor could've been Salazar Slytherin Sr. (Salazar's father) who had another kid after Salazar went to the future... After all the Gaunts only claim to the Slytherin name as the fact they could speak Parseltongue just like Harry and probably either James or Lily's family... Since their both Light Wizards they would have taken the secret to the grave.

Time is relevant especially when traveling back a thousand years, Harry could stay with the founders for like 5 yrs, not change the time line (because Slytherin disappeared shortly after the school was founded anyway), and make it to where least no more than 2 months had passed. I would totally find away for Merlin to look at Harry's scary... bc y'know he's MERLIN!

For the Chamber of Secret, Moaning Mertal was actually the only person to die bc of the Basilisk and their an endangered Magical Creature/Animal right? So keep the Basilisk, have it hibernate, and possibly save lives in the Future. After all it was the venom sucked into Godric's sword that killed the other Horocrux and the fang that destroyed the diary. Maybe the mother Basilisk swallowed her hatchlings eggs on Salazar's order to keep them safe from Voldy pants?.. or instead of completely dying the familiar was able to be reborn from it's corpse bc Harry left it alone there and all that was needed for it to revive was Salazar's magic in the future?

I quite like this story and look forward to the next chapter.
