I honestly hate the idea of torture but if what happened to Loki in this were actually true wouldn't it be more likely for Thanos to allow Loki to keep his healing ability at least for a period of time. I mean it would seem even worse if after each torture session Loki was allowed to heal only for it to begin again. I mean imagine having your bones broken again and again and your body to be covered in deep lacerations only to heal and have it happen again. Eventually after Loki making several escape attempts I could imagine Thanos taking away his ability to heal.
