Just a comment on your insistance on calling mid-sized ships "destroyers": I really think it is redundant. In ME, "cruisers" is what humans called such ships, so whatever language the aliens were using, their own words for such ships would be translated as "cruisers". Here the translation is happening for the readers, so using different vernacular between the different militaries is redundant since we know they are already speaking different languages.

The story is great and their difficulties are relatable. You really introduced the tragic misunderstanding very well, there was goodwill on both parts.

You know the laser point defense systems overheat, right? Very quickly, in fact. So all missiles need to do to be effective is overwhelm the point defense systems. Then everything can go through until they come back online. If anything, MORE missiles splitting into smaller missiles should be the solution, not fewer.

You know Mass Effect uses missiles, right? Missiles, Javelin torpedoes, all sorts of things that you're calling "useless." Hell, didn't the cutscenes showing the Battle of the Citadel show a bunch of human ships shooting missiles?

Yes, yes, I know, Guardian defense lasers will burn out the missiles. So you shoot more of them. Possibly even with anti-shield Overload tech. The Javelin torpedoes are apparently warp torpedoes, after all.

I just dont understand why earth would want to finnish the peace talks as early as possible, the information they got access to, should have them draging the talks out as long as possible, while upping military production.

Also, there is several Terminus species, that is not a member of the Citadel.

If humanity don't have AI, you've removed a fair bit from the Alien setting taking into consideration both androids and the sentient ship computer in the first movie.
It's an integral part of the setting, I can't really see it as a full crossover without it. .
