Reviews for Letting Go
Frau Wilhelm Klink chapter 1 . 7/16
This made me cry, but well done!
Winterfrost15 chapter 1 . 2/14/2016
This actually made me cry a little. It was sad yet beautiful at the same time, and so well-written. Thank you for sharing. :’)
booey875 chapter 1 . 1/6/2016
Oh man this one is a tearjerker. D:

I have to admit my first reaction was similar to the reaction from ColHogan.

This fic is thought provoking because of some rather morbid reasons. Like what happens to the rest of them? Do they all just escape that night, leaving Klink and Schultz behind? And what do they do with Hogan's remains? Do they put the body in his quarters and act like he's died during the night? There are so many ideas you could probably write a sequel.

Very well done.
Tiny1217 chapter 1 . 6/9/2015
It's normally rather difficult for me to read a character death story, but this one was well-written. Yes, it was very sad, but you did a good job writing.
Goldleaf83 chapter 1 . 6/7/2015
You made an interesting choice in giving Hogan an end that is in many ways realistic: not super heroic, just caught by bullets that (for once) actually find a target, while he's out performing a routine job. Also, by telling the story from his perspective and not having him killed outright, you get a chance to show his men's reactions too, which is a good way to naturally work in a wider set of perspectives.
janna12 chapter 1 . 6/7/2015
Very sad story but also strangely uplifting. Well done on facing a very real scenario for any one of the heroes.
Glossina chapter 1 . 6/6/2015
So, so sad. I have tears in my eyes.
Zeragii chapter 1 . 6/6/2015
Very sad, but very well-written! Excellent.
snooky-9093 chapter 1 . 6/6/2015
So sad and tragic, and extremely well-written. And as hard as it seems, his men are prepared and will go on. Realistically, this occurrence has to be in the back of every prisoner's mind. Having Hogans's father there to help his son move forward was a nice and poignant touch, although I had to think about his poor mother losing both a husband and a son.
Sgt. Moffitt chapter 1 . 6/6/2015
So sad, so terrifying for Hogan, worrying about leaving his men. But we know him as a good commander, and a good commander would prepare his men for such a happening. And since he had taught them well, as his father pointed out, Hogan could indeed let go, knowing they could carry on. Yes, I can see Hogan smiling, knowing that his work was done.
Fortune Maiden chapter 1 . 6/6/2015
Why ;-; This is really well written. I especially liked the scene between Hogan and his father.

...*cries*
Six of Twelve chapter 1 . 6/6/2015
What a sad story. And I have to wonder how they explained it to Klink.
ColHogan chapter 1 . 6/6/2015
So well written but I still need to say I hate you. You killed Hogan! How could you? But despite that, it was very thought provoking.
willwrite4fics chapter 1 . 6/6/2015
Just a stray bullet that happened to hit him, such a terrible way for Hogan to go. No spectacular dramatic death saving people in peril. But that's the way many ended up losing their lives too. Very sad. I don't know that the Heroes would be able to carry on doing missions without the Colonel to head them up and make the plans. Well done.
