  Guest chapter 12 . 5/21 I refuse to believe that Arthur would abandon Merlin in some castle to be tortured, even if he has magic. Arthur would be more likely to take Merlin with him and be told to get away from Camelot and never come back. |

Im not sure if you're still active on here (I just stumbled across this relatively old story and haven't checked your profile) but I thought I'd leave a comment anyway. I'm going to be slightly critical, but don't mind that because, trust me, I really enjoy reading your story. I don't believe Arthur is in canon in this story (which I dont mind at all, but I thought I'd point it out) he's even more hateable than Grid. The fact that deliberately leaving Merlin behind to be tortured, because he's not worth saving even crossed his mind is reason for me to help Gwaine plot his murder (I loved Gwaine being all protective, btw, ahww). And I understand he's shocked and all, but I don't think he'd ever consider doing this to his worst enemy, let alone Merlin, of all people. Arthur not only thought of this, but also voiced these thoughts with as much conviction as he were able to and when Gwaine and Merlin finally seemed to convince him slightly he smiled a bit at Merlin after some bad 'lighten the mood' joke and felt like 'for a moment they were just like servant and banter'. Like,,,, I'M SorRY, WHaT?! Just seconds ago, you'd let him be tortured instead of at least getting him out and giving him a fair trial? I was slightly disappointed Gwaine didn't send him death threats, cause I for sure would have! Im now at chapter 9 and I really like it, I'll definitely continue reading, but I just felt like scolding at Arthur a bit more might have been more appropriate. |
