YOur logic is unassailable, your explanation is now my headcanon, and "until 40 Eridani A goes nova" wins you a shiny new Internet and about 500 novels. You are an absolute star.

I really love this series of epilogues and your notes and reasoning on why certain things are as they are. Thank you!
Guest chapter 9 . 7/7/2018
Love these episode epilogues. I think Spock snaps out of the pon farr because the ceremony is marriage OR challenge. I think Spock explains it or Kirk explains it to McCoy. So once Spock wins the challenge, he is done. He didn't have to mate because he didn't go through the marriage option. That's my opinion anyway. Looking forward to more epilogues!

I really like the idea of the Vulcan group mind - I agree that it makes a lot of sense. It will conveniently also explain why Spock becomes more pre-Surakian when he is trapped far in the past. :)

I like the back and forth between the two very intelligent people here. I might have wanted more non-dialogue but I find he info dumps so fascinating that I certainly don't want any less of them! :-)
Roccesc chapter 5 . 6/28/2018
I really liked this chapter. It was very interesting that McCoy behaved so different than Spock and Kirk did. And I liked that in your story he doesn't thik of himself as a starfleet officer, but only as a physician working on a starship. I think it really fits his character.
I absolutely loved that information about McCoy's little device actually being a salt shaker! I had no idea!
You also said you wouldn't include summaries anymore, which I think is a pity. It would really help me. There's no need for those incredibly long summaries you did, but if you could explain in two or three sentences what the episode was about just like you did at the beginning of this chapter I would really appreciate it :)
Roccesc chapter 1 . 6/26/2018
I only read the first chapter so far and I'm currently watching Star Trek for the first time, but I just wanted to say that I liked the first chapter very much and I can't wait to read the others. I love the relationship between Kirk and Spock, so thanks for giving them a couple more scenes together :)

Great explanation! I particularly liked your Author's Notes.

I thank you so much for your wonderful insight into this intriguing episode. Now, the episode truly makes sense. You cleared up a few of the very points that left the ending of the episode dangling, unfinished, or just hanging out there somewhere. I feel for you regarding your chronic illness (I have four distinct yet interlocking chronic illnesses myself) and wish for you pain free days and nights. If nothing else, I wish to encourage you to continue writing; I look forward to your next installment. Once again thanks, and take care.

Wow, I love your theory on why they still have that tradition.

Very cool to think of Spock’s influence remaining for years to come, we could all use more of his reverence for life and respect for others’ cultures

I like T’pau, she’s very wise.
I’m glad she will telll of Spock’s honor to all who may have bullied him or belittled him.

What would you think about a flashback to when he chose Starfleet in this universe. The Big Three or heck even the entire bridge crew could all share why they chose Starfleet.

Interesting how you tackled the unanswered questions from Amok Time in this one! Though, in one of the books (don't quote me but I think it was "Vulcan Academy Murders"), there were a few lines from T'Pau hinting that she did not approve of McCoy's plan (Some line to Kirk about "You live and Spock lives" and how it was disrespectful of the ritual if I recall correctly). I definitely like your version of her reaction better though, as well as what is likely to happen to T'Pring.

And I agree, there should definitely be a policy on the ship (or in starfleet) about what is done under the influence of transport malfunctions, alien viruses and/or drugs or other such things that causes a person to lose control of themselves shouldn't be held against them.

I'm so glad you are still writing. Your stories are excellent - well done plots put together with excellent word choice, grammar, etc. A delight to read!
I love your take on "Journey to Babel" and agree 100%.
Greatly enjoy your insights into the actual production of the series and character's development - fun facts I haven't seen elsewhere (or have forgotten).
Don't let the trolls get you down! Maybe you can apply some of the "troll spray" the LNM internet radio advertises. ;) Morons have nothing better to do than quibble over crew on board (which would vary depending on how many redshirts just got killed, who's on leave, etc.) and other nonsense.
They forget this is a universe for us to have fun and to play in - a chance to forget how ill we are and all the pain we battle - and just dream of happiness and good things.
Thank you so much for sharing.
God bless and keep you.
