Oh wow, another update! I haven't been waiting as long as some readers here, but it's always cool to see inspiration for an old story strike again! I definitely empathize, I have a lot of stories I started years ago and completely forgot about.

Anyways, this is a really great chapter. You set up the events perfectly, with Leo's emotions remaining consistent from the past two chapters; he's distraught, upset about holding his team back and still not recovering. Which made it all the better when Mikey was the one to comfort him after his nightmare! That was a great suggestion from 'fav Leonardo,' and I'm glad my suggestion was able to contribute to it as well. Just like I hoped, when the two confided within themselves they shared differing feelings of self-doubt, which led them to a deeper understanding and appreciation for themselves. Leo knows that his brothers truly love and respect him, and don't see him as a liability because of his leg. They just really want him to recover, and if that means waiting a little longer to return to New York, then so be it. And Mikey knows now that his brothers don't see him as useless, they just instinctually try to protect him as the elder brothers.

Also, it was really sweet that Mikey ended up falling asleep next to Leo. I'd probably do the same thing as Donnie and try to snap a picture! Speaking of which, I love that you had small scenes with Donnie snapping pics; I can totally see him building a camera and trying to gain as much memorable 'blackmail' as possible. The many pictures in his lair alone prove that the turtle is a Photoholic lol

Having the team build a treehouse together was also a really sweet thing. I love it when teambuilding exercises actually have a group construct something, cause its a subtle way to drive home the message that each member of a team is important. When building something, you need multiple hands and talents at work, and if even one person were missing than the construct would be fundamentally different. Plus, each member working on the project symbolizes how a fully functioning team is held together by positive connections; by literally 'building each other up.'

Overall, this chapter was another great read! I think you've really mastered the art of 'short yet sweet' stories, and I can't wait to read more! Sounds like you've already got some solid ideas, with single chapters having different characters interacting with Leo.

Now, this is going to sound like a super sappy request; but hear me out! Maybe have April and Leo discussing relationships? This doesn't have to be a ship thing; in fact, it would probably be best to just limit it to a general discussion. Both Leo and April are connected in the fact their relationships face certain issues; April has two friends who are competing over her, with both of them having certain problems; Casey is a nutcase who can be rash and thoughtless, while Donnie thinks too hard and is...well, not a human. And Leo had a crush on Karai, who not only worked for the Shredder but is his half-sister!

I think the two of them discussing their feelings on how complicated relationships are would be nice, because they could see their problems from a different perspective and realize that in the grand scheme of things (like the Kraang taking over the world) those problems seem rather small and insignificant, that they are rather young and thus there's nothing wrong with taking things slow in their relationships. Again, it might still sound dumb, but I think it might be neat to read.

This wasn't a fluffy scene? Because it was a pretty good one.

And that's what happens when your friends know you too well and apparently want revenge, Casey Jones. That was pretty harsh boys.

I love Leo and Raph's relationship here. :)

Wow, that was, harsh, but truthful feeling. More realistic than the show usually got really. And I think the characters are pretty true to form too. Especially Casey, trying to be helpful, but uh … not realizing when he smacks a sensitive subject like a hockey puck.

In one word, “Beautiful!” I love the banter between all four of them and the maturity that Mikey shows after Leo’s injury. It’s only natural that they want to protect him, but it also does give the impression that they lack trust in him and his ability. I doubt any of them are ready for their little brother to get older. It makes me so happy how Leo seemed so proud of him. Gives me such a warm feeling to read these lovely little confessions! Cannot wait to read more!

This story is so cute! The premise is simple, yet that's perfect for some fluff and brotherly bonding moments. Once again you've nailed the distinctive personalities of the turtles, and how they look out for each other. Raph is brusque yet not too detached to give hugs if Leo needs them, and Donnie is great at being both understanding and practical when it comes to Leo's physical concerns. And that scene where Raph and Donnie play a prank on Casey? Priceless.

I do think it might be nice to expand on the relationship between Leo, Mikey and April a bit if you decide to write more of this fanfic. Leo and April had a lot of development over the farmhouse arc; there were two times Leo told April "ninjas only" which resulted in some resentment from her, and then in the 'Eyes of the Chimera' episode she had to inspire him into action in order to save his brothers, while basically blind and unable to protect herself. There's a lot of potential in their dynamic which would be fun to see developed.

And of course, what's not to love about a little Leo-Mikey interaction? The two are such polar opposites; Leo is serious and responsible, while Mikey is goofy and can be a bit of a basket case. Since they're at a campsite again, maybe there could be a scene where Leo teaches him how to start a fire, or even just pull him aside for a little heart to heart. Leo could confide how self-conscious his leg injury is making him, which could lead Mikey in turn to reveal how useless he feels sometimes, or how he wants to help the team more, and together they could build each other up and regain their confidence. I don't know, that's kinda sappy, but it definitely fulfills the requirements for a 'slightly fluffy scene!'
