fantastic work as usual. the gaslighting, the way Doug lies, sad but realistic. liv telling Rafi he did nothing wrong and comforting him, beautiful. Loved Fin looking out for Raf too. Doug is horrible, poor Rafi.

I'm so glad that he's going to therapy and is trying to make his life better. And I'm so grateful for Olivia. She's being so, so good with him. I'm not ready for Doug's testimony either. That bastard!

I'm not good at leaving reviews, I don't know what to say, I don't feel like I have the right to pass comment on other people's work...but I can't just move on from this and say nothing...
I've just read all 13 chapters on another reader's recommendation, in the last hour or two...and I could cry...his pain, his shame and his misplaced guilt are just agonising, because it is all too real. That sense of not being an adult, of not being able to protect himself, of somehow being to blame for all the violence he has suffered...is heartbreaking, because it's not something that is unimaginable...it's all to easy to imagine, and for too many people it is a horrifying reality...If this story was written about Liv or Amanda it would be interesting but the fact that it's about one of the men, adds on even more dimensions, because somehow society tries to tell us that tears and open emotion are un-manly, what rubbish! Being a man has nothing to do with not showing emotion, or being unable to protect yourself(no one can protect themselves when the odds are deliberately stacked against them, predators don't allow fair fights, physical or otherwise)...Rafael has stood up for himself, despite how difficult it is, as he has stood up for so many men and women in the past, that's what being a man is! He's struggling and yet he is someone to be very much looked up to...he is in an inspirational figure(and you wrote him to be all this!)
A person who hurts someone, like Doug does, is no man...not by any meaningful standard, he's a predator, a bully...
And everyone, man or woman, deserves to be safe, to be respected and to be believed when they have been hurt, it is not a reflection on them but on the person(s) who hurt them...
Please keep writing, even if you don't hear from me, know that I will be reading...

My heart hurts! Poor Rafi :( I feel so bad for him. I really hope that Doug gets convicted, because he's a stupid son of a bitch. The way you've written this story is excellent, I found myself so entranced in it. I hope there's an update soon!

So happy that he is going through with the trial. I hate how Doug is still hurting him. So glad he's allowing Fin and Liv to help him. Can't wait to see how she continues to help him cope and deal with everything.
