Abandon or not, this is a fantastic story. True it has its faults as people have stated, but the concept is different than other stories as instead of focusing on humans, it focuses on a race evolved from us. Plus the dinosaurs are awesome. At the very least I hope someone picks up this idea.

You spent to much time making up random stuff with different dinosaurs and everything. Could’ve been better if this wasn’t just First Contact.

Okay I’m really wondering where the reinforcements are at, cause this conflict has been going on for a while now.

Here's a creature idea.
The DRACO AQUAE.
The DNA of the Goliath beetle, ant lion, spike-headed katydid, and meganeura.

During its larva stage it has a incredibly powerful exoskeleton that can resist most small arms fire (this comes at the draw-back of a incredible amount of chinks in the armor) and mandibles that can break through steel. It also has six legs and a triangle anus (this is an actual term) to propped it in the sand or water. They are also incredibly aggressive during that stage without genetic modifications or implants. They also remain incredibly silent and the only sound ever recorder is more similar to a whistle. Are an average 2 meter tall, 2 meter wide, 3 meters long, and weigh about 90 kilograms.

During the adult stage they are more passive and do not needlessly kill like the larva and instead only attack when in a state of hunger or feel threatened. However, when devouring their food they waste no time what so ever, they have been known to devour an entire cow in 5 minutes flat. They have a relatively powerful exoskeleton much like the larva, but has far less chinks. However, its large eyes make it incredibly vulnerable, and a single shot could kill it, regardless of its hard armor. Its legs are covered in a great amount of spikes which are used to keep a good grip on its prey. Its large and powerful wings can allow it to fly at an average 100 miles per hour, but have been know for short burst that can go up to 140 miles per hour. These massive wings have been known to make sounds similar to those of helicopter in the 21st century and have not been recorded making other forms of noise (except when they're eating. So sloppy). They are also incredibly manoeuvrable and have been known to spin 180 degrees, upside, and even backwards during mid-flight. 3 meters tall, 2 meter wide, 2.5 meters long, the wings span being 7 meters, and the average weight is 38 kilograms.

They were first made by an illegal research operation on the colony moon Harena in the year 2154. The System Alliance broke down on the operation quickly and removed guards there at incredible speeds, but were ambushed by the larva in the sandy dune when their first path to the scientist was blocked. Casualties were received, but the operation continued. Several squad members were reported to have been picked off and carried away by the adults -which were controlled by implants- and quickly devoured at incredible speeds. The adults were finally removed after a lengthy firefight which lasted 15 minutes of picking up and shooting. In the end however the squad was able to detain the scientist and confiscate his research. Apparently the scientist had tried to create other creatures, one of the files was mostly deleted, but what was left was heavily corrupted, however one word was able to be deciphered. PROJECT CERBERUS.

Since the operation the Alliance had used trained or implanted Draco Aquae as policing or reconnaissance forces on several colony worlds, especially those with high amounts of water or jungles. They have been proven to be effective as they have quick reproduction cycles, easy to feed, quick learners, and durable. Weapon systems attached or implanted have also proven useful for law enforcement.

Love the story idea, and love to see move soon

I waited nine chapters for this one. You finally moved on, but you stopped writing. Sad :(

It's slow because you have multiple plots going with each character, half of which aren't necessary. You show multiple scenes for each character when only a single one might work better, while showing these characters from another viewpoint to help cover further details. Stuff like that.

It's interesting, and I like it, but new information comes sparsely despite the mass of writing. You're only covering a few hours here, and there's already enough words to count as a book - the first Harry Potter book has less words than this - but there is an entire war to write about.

It feels like half of everything is side-story...

I'm starting to think that this isn't going to get past the war, even with having over 80k words. You're using too many viewpoints, adding too many new unnecessary variables, and so on. It's good, too many variables scattered about.

I like it, but it seems like the story is repeating now. The progression is so slow.

Can't find any info on the movie script where the human race turns into dino/human hybrids.
