If their images were clear enough, someone might recognize them in public, and all hell will break loose. Doesn't help how incredibly eye-catching the Shiratsuyus are neither, at least the Germans all have more natural blonde hair. I sure hope things don't go badly, wild civilians can be just as dangerous as terrorists at times, if just because dealing with them is not as clear cut. Might be an exaggeration, but still.

Yeah, something tells me a lot of the Japanese girls are going to sink if they get sent out on a global tour like this. It'll be a long journey that splits them up and gives them no assistance other than resupplies... If they make it back to port. The Japanese gov just really doesn't care about the girls' lives, only showing off their "power" and keeping absolute ownership over them. A taste of the political salt, Germany will be getting the main course tomorrow I'd wager. I feel like ST6's reason for sending the girls to Germany is just that, they're needed there as instructors and reinforcements for the European forces, kept secret to not get Japan riled up, and also as a small act of revenge against Japan for simply cutting ties and taking the girls like that. ST6 just seems to be that kind of group, powerful but whimsical, no Illuminati hidden agenda under there. Or perhaps I'm wrong, who knows.

Can't say Sir Porter's paranoia is unfounded, the American gov doesn't exactly have a good track record about meddling and power fantasies. Reliance on a foreign power borders on suicide for a country, and it's not like he's even got a chance to interact with the British girls, there's no way he'd understand they're more than simple battle androids. Knowing what I do about the girls though, just the mention of scrapping them leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Hopefully ST6 will handle the UN meeting too. I doubt the meeting would accomplish anything of value though, since when has the UN been useful for actually important things, like counter-terrorism? Naw, they're too busy complaining about hentai, hue. Looking forward to the next chapter!

Politics, politics never change. I mean, I could understand nations wanting their own fleet personnel, it's state-of-the-art technology that's vital to self defense what with the Abyssals running around, I wouldn't want to rely on someone else to protect myself neither. But then you have those assholes, who don't want anyone to have cool shit because they themselves don't have it, the ones that don't want to climb up but instead want to drag everyone down with them, and god do they exist irl.

Oops, forgot about this update. I feel so sorry for her right now, the media and political shitstorm is no joke, though the incoming pressure on the ship girls themselves may be even worse. Every single other country is going to piss and moan about Germany and Britain having cool toys, and will either demand their own or demand no one has them, because CLEARLY the Abyssals attacking their cities are not the most pressing concern. The general public will be even worse, because they won't even bother with pretending to be sophisticated and civilized with their opinions, and a good amount of them will be even less logical than the politicians, who at least only care about looking out for themselves, which is predictable. Troubling, frustrating times ahead.

Ah, the Abyssals finally attack Europe. So ends the days of peace. At least the others of the German parliament are in full support of the ship girls and won't be causing problems...for now. I wonder what the Abyssals' next move will be?

So mind control IS part of this. Coastal regions, do Abyssals have mind control tech? I'd imagine all the young men being targeted would be due to honey traps, which older men are less likely to fall for. Still doesn't explain how the Sheriff disappears people.

Also, I have a bad feeling about England. It might not be as innocent as just the girls being too exhausted. Either ways, looking forward to the next chapter!

Mind control, that possibility really makes one wonder about events in the real world... Then again, there's also many cases where random criminals were described as "he was such a sweet kid" by neighbors and stuff like that, what one sees outside is not necessarily what's inside when it comes to people.
