I loved the chapter, in all its painful lines.
The first part – the sexy one – is very bittersweet. I like the way you introduce the progresses Alec makes in the sexual context: the approach, the insecurity and then the decision to go on, to try and let go. Being turned on by the gesture is such a great achievement, and while this goal could be destroyed by painful memories and associations, Magnus is there with the perfect words to remind him that nothing is like what it used to be with Manson.
The part with Jamie is maybe the most important: seeing the way the boy is being helped and slowly healing could help Alec too, to learn how to get through his experiences and the aftermath of what happened. As you say in your note, we see Alec starting to heal with the help of Magnus and his siblings, but there is some work of ‘healing’ that must be done alone, and Alec needs to find his own balance independently from Magnus and the relationship they have.
Poor Magnus…he has learned to previously discuss about sexual upgrade (it wasn’t his fault by the way), and maybe to be more open with Alec about his life and his past. I think that since Magnus is supposed to have a very difficult past (starting from parents), sharing part of it with Alec would help to better balance the couple, help Alec not to feel a burden, but to experience the mutual support that constitutes the solid foundation of any relationship.
Needles to say, I am looking forward to the next chapter. Need to see how they get closer again.

I will say that I agree with your ending authors note, this chapter definitely lacks the descriptive language you were previously using. I may not know you, but I have faith that you'll be able to write as good or better than you were. Just take your time, and enjoy the process of writing again.
