Oh my word, I can't believe you updated. It was the absolute last thing I was expecting. I hardly ever come on my account anymore but I'm glad I did. My timeline matches yours pretty closely, I first read this fic my freshman year of high school and now I'm going to university this fall. It's a great fic and I'm excited to see where it goes. You might want to consider posting it on archive too, because that website gets a little bit more traction now, and I can keep up better with it there :). I want to take the time to mention how much this story inspired me. Not only to make my own OtGW/GF crossover, (which I might publish here someday but who knows), but in real life as well. I always thought I was crazy or even somewhat sadistic for enjoying my favorite characters go through intense trauma, but after reading this while going thro a somewhat stressful situation of my own, I think I finally understand. I don't enjoy seeing my children (in this case my timid child Wirt) suffer, but I enjoy seeing them have to struggle to overcome, or even just live with, their hardships. I know I'm not the only one with this viewpoint, in fact this is probably some sort of fundamental human aspect that I somehow thought was unusual. I won't go into detail on the stress I'm facing now (it's not even close to as intense as the stuff that happens to Wirt in this story, don't worry), but just know that being able to read about familiar characters going thro similar problems has made my life just a bit easier.

I don't know if you plan on continuing this story. I would be delighted if you did, but even if you don't I'm still glad I read the 9 chapters you have out.
