Well, this is a surprise. For someone as dangerous as Rumplestiltskin seems to be, he doesn't appear to be very feared by the general masses, if the amount of gifts he receives is anything to go by. It's a bit of a surprise he and Bae at least somewhat know how to read (for whatever reason, I've grown somewhat used to the idea that both of them were analphabets) but it probably makes sense, as both of them know how to read in canon and they likely didn't have other chances to learn than the ones you presented.

And not-Zoso keeps being as annoying and unhelpful as always. Can't the bub just shut up?

And honestly, Rumple should have thought a bit before doing what he did. Him crushing that lord likely won't earn him any friends. And as much as one can get why Rumple and Morraine would feel as they do, their disregard for a human life is a bit cringe-inducing.

As for what he does with Morraine... bad Rumple! Bad bad bad bad Rumple! What he did to Morraine is awful. Granted, he was afraid for the dagger, but it's still a shock, as I don't think I ever read a fic in which Rumple mistreats Morraine (then again, there aren't that many fics about them, and all the ones I found before predate the Dark One having been announced as a sentient darkness).

But what he did to Widow Lorna is a lot worse. Him ripping out her heart over something so minor... he really is falling quite fast. I wonder if there is anything at play regarding a theory I think I read somewhere in which Widow Lorna actually told Rumple about Milah being taken because it was part of plan meant to end with the pirates killing Rumple when he went to the Jolly Roger (I personally don't really buy that theory, but if it is at play here... well, OUCH).

And double OUCH at the final moment in the chapter. After that, it's getting really hard to figure out how Rumple didn't go crazy after dealing with not-Zoso for three hundred years, even with the goal he had to work toward.

All the same, another great chapter! Congratulations for it!

Oh such a good chapter! Rumple is really staring to slid down that slippery slope that gets him in the end with bae! I liked how the poison thing was the cause for a maid, since it never made sense to me that him being such a private person, he'd just get a maid randomly. Thanks for this chapter! The stuff with moraine was a great idea! I can't wait for the next one Pan! Hopefully it's to do with the bit we saw on the show about the piper!

Well, at least Rumple was able to resist killing Morraine (although he did pick up a couple more dark magic skills, including the all important Heart Rip-out skill).
Hoping Rumple figures out how to spin straw into gold next - so looking forward to this.
