You have a real talent with writing these slice-of-life concepts, and making them seem like something the show itself might have displayed. It's easy to see Amethyst trying against her own nature to fill in the "nurturing" role for Steven when the others were slacking off from it during this period, simply because she knew he needed someone to remember him in all of it. I love how she refuses to take any credit for maintaining the household; there are lots of reasons why she'd feel this way: Now that Garnet and Pearl's feud has been set aside by they themselves, she wants to shed all the stress and depression this dark time in their home caused, and move forward. Also, Amethyst probably worries that Pearl might get ideas if she finds out that she was dabbling in domestic chores, and the last thing a rebel like her needs is a reputation as a potential homemaker to cramp her style. And further, putting Steven in a light that brings a little extra positivity to his image was probably a subtle icing on the cake.
