This is an excellent reasoning for Natsu to break into Lucy's apartment the first time.

I've seen several reviews expounding about how great it is that your Natsu isn't a complete dumbass. You've really captured the intelligence of his character, the experienced mage who's been an active member of his guild for some years now. That said, the key word is 'complete'. He's still got quite a bit of stupid in him and I love how you got that balance. Most write Natsu as either a completely ignorant idiot (more common), or else he's always on top of things and confident and knowledgeable (most NaLu smut), but you, you make him seem like a person. More than that, you make him seem like the character we know and love from the actual series. Thank you for that.

The original bit at the end is great. A nice call forward to both her habit of balancing as she walks home and of how inexperienced she really is. I wonder how Natsu will react when he finds out she was basically raised in a box until recently?

Too bad this is the end. Love the concept and the execution. Hope to see more someday!

I'm not quite sure why Natsu wouldn't tell Lucy what she was doing so she would stop if it makes him uncomfortable, but I'm glad he isn't. To tell the truth I wasn't a big fan of the earliest chapters of FT mostly because Lucy was always being made a fool of at first. It's better from Natsu's pov in a way, since he's so straightforward that he does take notice when she does things right.

It's been so long since I read this part, but I remember how useless Lucy was. It figures that her luck and kindness would be taken as dragon courtship moves. I wonder what the other guild members would say if they knew? Or what they'll say when they find out? Makes me wonder if Wendy and Gajeel got similar lectures.

She's already starting to grow on him as a person even if he's still a long ways off from loving her. I love it. I love me some hot NaLu lovin, but the emotional buildup is so important and you're doing so well.

I love this. I've been complaining for a long time about the lack of in-character Natsu pov in FT fanfiction. Especially in canon-verse. And this particular sub genre of dragon slayer courtship is especially stale and prone to ooc Natsu. I hope you come back to this someday, it's really something special and I'd love to see the parts where he starts to like her for real.

So this first chapter is great. I love Igneel and his struggle to make the whole thing palatable to child-Natsu. And he has a great voice, I can really get a sense of him as a character and as a father, especially with all the little asides of him giving practical life lessons. And Natsu couldn't care less, so it's a struggle to teach him. Boy is Natsu in for a surprise.

I, I really can't explain how much this fic means to me. You might never come back to it (please, please come back to it!), but I'm going to be thinking about this scenario and this version of Natsu from now on, trying to picture where this romantically informed yet IC Natsu takes the narrative next.

Oh I love this! Natsu's way of thinking is hilarious and actually makes a lot of sense for him. Poor Lucy doesn't have a clue what she has gotten herself into. I can't wait to see more of this!

I'm in love. It was love at first sight. I absolutely loved it! And I really like the scene which natsu taught lucy to balance on the edge, a very good and clever thing to add consider the fact that it was not mentioned in the anime or I was too blinde to see it, it just explains why lucy always walks on the edge of the canal. One last thing, I really love how you write your natsu pov, not too fast nor too slow and definitely not with unnecessarily talks, it's just soo perfect. You're a genius.

You know, I completely enjoyed Natsu's thoughts about their starting adventures and Lucci..erm Lu-something (and wow hahaha yes that makes so much sense between all the nomnoms!) and then ofc the father/son (parent/child) moment to both Natsu and (unknowing to him) Lucy and this end of it just made this chapter. I love how you are going about this and with FT manga currently this is creating such a wonderful nostalgic feel. Loved this, thank you.

this is one of the best BEST bestest comedic prologues of known characters I've read. I loved this and I look forward to reading more. I especially loved the part where Igneel tries to get Natsu to Be Competitive (dammit!) and not contrary for the sake of turning tradition to ash hahahaha Hilarious and so so fun to read! This last bit also just read so rightly and wow am I gonna be turning this page now!

I am so excited that I found this fic! I read it on AO3 and fell in love, but had no way to find it again. I absolutely love the way you write, and would love to read more of this fic whenever you decide to update again. :)
