I gotta say, this is some quality stuff! Great story and all the characters match how they act in game. You've done a really good job telling this touching story, to the point that now i always think of Hope whenever i hear a witch ingame. Deepest condolences for all the suffering and pain you went through!

So, that's a cliffhanger I'll eagerly be awaiting, but hot damn if this and it's predecessor wasn't a wildly entertaining ride, with its fair share of grip.
No, I definitely did not read through to 5 am. No sirree, I definitely didn't binge throughout the night of the story before to this.

Anyway, this is God damn amazing.
It's a good take on sentient infection, communication, and the conditions infection applies.
It's got a good setting in the camp, and is that a nod to city 17 there? If so that's damn subtle, but it's a good one.
The characters all seem well represented, nicks hardass with emotions below, conman experience and the drinking,
Ellis the dumb redneck who just wants good done, and quickly puts his hand out to shake just like he would,
Coach being leadery, running out of breath, and being reassurant,
Rochelle being the tough shot, having attacked the witch twice, both nearly killing them, and then forcing them to be left behind,
Bill the experienced veteran, with it even being nodded to with a lieutenant and the skilled shooting when the 2 cast sees an aftermath of a horde,
Francis the grumbling biker, portrayed with "i hate X" in a well introduced manner, especially his "I'm just bored." And when he gets caring in any matter, that as well still seems exactly like the Francis with that tonal voice complaining every time you play no mercy.
Then there's Louis, the lines written out fit perfectly with the voice he has, every damn speck to the "ah."
Then Zoey with her kindness, positive demeanor, and caring by default, the depressive state of mind is ported very well to what went down.
And frankly, that's pretty much exactly what you could expect Zoey to do with a disguise. Damn straight.

Fave, follow, only a chance for a grammatical error in each page rather than every time a word comes up, seems like the author studied personality of each character and thought of how they interacted and acted themselves, it's a glowing review, i will eagerly await and be driven to giddy smiling when I know the next chapter comes up. Whenever it comes, I'm reading.

Wow. Sounds like you've been through the ringer there. That's one slippery slope you rode to rock bottom, I'm glad you've managed to crawl your way back out. I'm not a writer but I do hang around the space of creating creative content so thanks for the warning. And hey, if it wasn't for it, I might not have stumbled across this story. Suddenly felt the need for some L4D when I came across your story. The synopsis interested me so I gave the prequel a read. Needless to say I quite enjoyed it.

Looks like your characters have gone through their fair share of troubles too. Very excited to see what's going to happen next. Also if Zoey was posing as one of Alan's men, doesn't that mean she's also armed to the teeth? The rifle aside, military outfits have A LOT of compartments for things. Like. Explosives. And guns. And more explosives.

As someone who stayed since day one, this was well worth the wait and I am honestly hyped to find out what happens next. I've been patient before and I'm willing to wait longer cuz this is the very first fanfic I've read that introduced me to the Internet.

Wow, as someone that creates stories with all of my heart, I both understand and are terrefied for the things you went through. If you ever have the chanse I would love to talk tou you, I'm not in a bad place so theres no need to worrie about that but I would love to talk to a storyteller such as yourself.
