Aw... can't you leave the OLD version up and put the rewrite up as a seperate and NEW story that has the current month day and year as its Published Date? For one thing putting it up as a NEW story instead of posting it over the old one will make it easier for reviewers who left signed reviews in the time the old story was still up to be able to make NEW signed reviews to the rewrite, otherwise they'll automatically get blocked by the websites system for trying to post a 'second review to a chapter they already reviewed'.
