Reviews for That Which is Remembered, Lives
Tennyo Dalucia chapter 1 . 1/14/2016
Thank you for this. Jareth has been a part of my life for longer than I can remember, I will not let him die. How can I when he shaped so much of my perception? So thank you for honoring that. I will mourn The death of the man who touched so many lives with his talent. But not the death of the Goblin King. I believe the Underground is made from the stuff of our dreams. It lives so long as it exists in our hearts.
Honoria Granger chapter 1 . 1/12/2016
He is not dead. He lives forever. Jareth has taken him home to his kingdom as great. They are not gone as long as we are here to tell their story.

To darkgreenrose:

You make a valid point. David Bowie is a small god in his own right. I do love his music, I had been telling myself all weekend I needed more of his albums. However, it is not David Bowie with over 8000 stories in here, it's the Goblin King. Both are small gods, both are beloved, both live on. The Goblin King is his own person given life by David and Jim Henson and maintained through the faith and love of the fans. I'm not worried about the Thin White Duke. I am a little worried about Jareth, hence this vignette.

As always, thank you very much for your review! *bows*

Thank you. For the bit, for the sentiment, and for the plea to continue, because our king is still alive.
As the late, great, Terry Pratchett said "No one is actually dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away." By this token, If we don't continue our stories, then the puppet master will truly be lost to us.
LadyOfSlytherin101 chapter 1 . 1/11/2016
He is still in my heart, he is my Muse, my Inspiration, my reason for loving fantasy for so long.
darkgreenrose chapter 1 . 1/11/2016
All of what you write is right and beautiful. And I understand what you mean by saying that the Goblin king is something more than Bowie. At the same time it sounds so superficial and misguided to say that one fictional character, great as he is, is something more than the vast world of Bowie's music, his imagery (in one word, his art) and him as real, incredible personality. If you truly think so, then you obviously don't know that vast world nearly well enough (calling Bowie first an actor, and only then a musician seems telling in itself). I am sorry if I am wrong. But, in any case, I'd rather say that the Goblin king is something different than David Bowie. Not more - never more, even though I myself am practically obsessed with Labyrinth stories and Jareth, the Goblin king.

All that said, I too hope that the best Labyrinth fan fiction writers won't stop writing their stories completely because Bowie, the real King is gone. Precisely because the Goblin king is something else, even though Bowie created him first.

Great final comments! Saddened we are, giving up, we are not! The Labyrinth and our King will live one.
