Alright, I'm out. You've written this well but you shouldn't tag a fic as Garrus/FShep and then shove fifty thousand some words of Krogan sex down our throats without at the least warning us it's going to be slowburn.

I'm so ready to see where this story goes. Of course it would be possible to completely rewrite the game and cannon story with this premise in almost the exact same way, but knowing you, you have something special in mind for this.
I like that you switched characters that we all know. I'm curious to see if Anderson ends up being the bad guy or if you take this and make a whole new story like your others.
Love the idea. Def going to keep reading this one.

I see the snarkitude is still there. The build-up and the mystery is solid, and some of the things Grunt said were a little unsettling. I forget, have Shep and Grunt met before?

Also, Shepard and cigars? Someone's gonna have to tell her to put that light out. Happens to a poet during WWI before he got shot by an enemy sniper.

Well, that was incredible. Intensely weird and a little hard to understand in some places, but incredible nonetheless.

Of the various 'fics I've read that try to rehabilitate the Reapers (who, as the canonical games went on, I always thought fell a little flat and became something more akin to "space kaiju") this is by far the best. I've seen this sort of scenario where the primary opposition comes from a "mindfuck" effect that makes it difficult to determine what's real as opposed to a physical enemy and it rarely comes off well, but you've managed to sell it. Additionally, I can really see both Shepard and Garrus really coming into their own as characters here, after Shepard's initially rocky introduction and the gradual displacement of Garrus in favor of others.

The one thing I will say is that I still think you are going overboard with the turian language- I just don't see the purpose in adding turian words that have almost direct English equivalents, and some of the mythological name-drops come across as kind of forced. This is exacerbated by the fact that portions from Garrus's POV still frequently use terrestrial similes a turian probably *wouldn't* know alongside the above. I've recently developed a pen-and-paper algorithm to generate my own turian words using terrestrial languages and a syllable substitution table (not sure how you are developing yours), and in about 16,000 words I've found occasion to use it exactly twice- once for the proper name of a branch of the turian special forces and once to describe a relatively complex political/diplomatic concept by which there is a right way and a wrong way to formally ask for assistance and doing the wrong one is considered unmeritocratic. Just in general I think some more restraint on this issue would be helpful in keeping the story's narrative more coherent and maintaining immersion.

Probably the most impressive aspect of this story is everything you say I could easily have been the way the game actually was everything seems grounded in the mass affect universe but yet completely different so the title of your story is completely right wonderful story every single word
