Macavity is a fiend, but it's interesting to see brief flashes of something good, before he ruthlessly pushes it away. He's made a conscious decision to be utterly evil, he's despicable.

Poor Demeter has practically given up hope. She knows he has utter control over her and nothing she does can change that. She's trying to make the most out of a horrible situation, and hopefully someone will rescue her soon.

Literally love this story so much, read it all in one night and I've thoroughly enjoyed myself I have to say! Your characterisation is wonderful, and I love all the portrayals of each character, your Munkustrap is fabulous!

Poor Munkustrap, bearing the weight of the world on his tiny shoulders. He can't even relax and play when he's 'off duty'. Hopefully he'll be able to get some fun out of life, he deserves it.

There's something seriously wrong with Macavity, it's like he was born without a conscience. I wonder if he's going to come looking for his kitten now? If he even cares...

We haven't seen that much, and I can already see why Demeter hates him so much. He is totally evil, and you portray that well.

Poor Munk is afraid to be a kitten and have fun, all he can think about is his responsibility to the tribe. Hopefully someone can help him lighten up a little, help him find some joy in life while he's still a kit. It's just too much of a burden, in my opinion, for one cat to handle, especially a kitten.

Again, Grizabella screws up, in Macavity's eyes, at least. Of course, I get the impression that to him anything anyone other than himself does is foolish. He thinks he's above everyone else, and I hope to see him brought down to size.

I have a bad feeling about this. I don't want to think about what Macavity is probably going to do to Demeter.

I like the way Grizabella talked to Asytanax about not blaming the baby for what Macavity did to her. It's not the child's fault who their parents are or how they came to be born. She seems genuinely caring, despite everything.

Old Deuteronomy doesn't seem very responsible as a parent, living away from his kittens and leaving Munkustrap to do all the work, especially so soon after after such a terrible attack. Sure, he's very mature for his age, but he's still a kitten, and the tribe has only one full-time adult tom there, from what I can gather, Asparagus, to protect them. I doubt it's what you meant, but Old D comes off as rather selfish here.

For some reason, as soon as you mentioned Jenny being pregnant, I knew it was Tumblebrutus. Pouncival, or Carbucketty depending on the version, seems too young to have been born before some of the other kittens in the musical, like Misto and Tumblebrutus.

Munkustrap is such a brave, mature kit, looking after everyone else with little thought to himself and his own needs and wants. We can see the makings of a great leader in him.

Alonzo is also showing his nature, his loyalty to Munk and to his tribe.

I honestly haven't seen the 'new' Tugger, I didn't like the original, and your portrayal is more likeable to me. He's a little scoundrel...

Macavity is a complete monster, as usual. He needs to meet a bus head-on.

Did you say that Plato's family had been killed? I know you said Cassandra lost her family...

Will Mungo and Teazer be showing up in this story?

It's a sad opening, and sure to get more depressing before it gets better, but it's gritty and realistic. They don't just sing and dance all day, they have to struggle to survive. Life can be cruel and unfair.

Where are all the reviews for this story!? Six chapters, an exciting plot, good characters, this deserves WAY more credit than what you're getting. And for that I apologize.

It's no surprise to anyone that Munkustrap is one of my favourite characters, sadly there are a lot of tropes and stocks that he falls under, usually just because he's the Protector. But with this story, though we're not able to see what he was like before, we can see what's made him so paranoid and high-strung and stern. I'm really glad this story touches on that, it's refreshing to see where characters come from and seeing what makes them who they are. Especially when it comes to stories that deal with the film/musical.

I am curious to see how the others come into play; all our (my) favourites like Misto and Etcetera and Victoria. Even the twins!

I also must add that I love the Munk-Alonzo-Bombalurina friendship, even more that they can remind him to still have fun and relax. Hopefully their friendship can prevail what's yet to come!
