Reviews for What It Means To Be Living
Beasthe chapter 53 . 6/10
Everything was perfect. The plot was extremely well thought out, the little details were there and everything made sense. You paint an incredibly immersive, beautiful and accurate picture of FFVII. Your writing is brilliant even if there were a few typos. Building up the relationships in nibelheim and making us feel like we actually knew the residents personally , only to rip it all away with the incident was breathtaking. Every character was well written. Favourite chapters were definitely 31-35,made me giddy and smiley for the longest time. Looking forward to reading the sequelthank you

Oh my goodness...oh my goodness...I can't even...I'm sorry...this story is just...it hits so hard emotionally on so many levels...
I want to praise you for such an epic masterpiece. I want to shower you with compliments for such a job well done. I simply don't think whatever I write here is going to be enough to accurately reflect just how incredible this story is. From start to finish, there was not a single moment that didn't have me hooked. This is how fanfiction should be!
Parsat chapter 53 . 5/18
I’ve read a lot of stories these past 12 years. Many of them were rubbish. Some were good. A few made me laugh. But I can count on one hand the ones that made me cry, and this one was one of them. You’ve done such a fantastic job capturing the characters as they go through the vicissitudes of life, facing joy and grief and loss over and over. When Tifa lost everything, I felt that deep. And when she started to gain a part of her life back, it felt like hope again. An amazing feat.
Lady Yomi chapter 2 . 5/18
Good news! The person who stole this fic last year ("ElCJLokoshom21" ID: 8730683) finally stopped posting his uncredited spanish translation! :)

He tried to pass it off as an "adaptation" inspired by your story for a few months & flatly refused to call it a "translation". But the story is no longer in his profile. I'm not sure if the site took it down or if he deleted it himself, but the result is just as good.

I hope you can keep writing nice things without having to suffer more plagiarism from anyone! Take care! ;)
topofthesky chapter 53 . 5/3
that one was one of the most brilliantly written story I have ever read.
I have no words to describe the perfection of that fanfic, it deserve 1 billion of favs and comments !
Reactor-3 chapter 53 . 3/10
I finished this in four hours, I could NOT stop reading. It was riveting. Absolutely amazing. I’m not very good at making long reviews, so I hope this one will suffice...but even the longest review couldn’t describe how I almost cried, laughed, and felt the same emotions that Cloud or Tifa were going through. This is definitely a top tier Cloti. All of the characters were on point, in my opinion. Especially loved the way you wrote Barrett.

Funny thing is, I actually wanted to write something with a very similar plot to this. Well, turns out I don’t even need to write it anymore XD.
Lady Yomi chapter 1 . 10/5/2019
Hi there! Just wanted to let you know that the author "ElCJLokoshom21" (ID: 8730683) is publishing an uncredited spanish translation of this work of yours. The title of his translation is "Mi Razón De Seguir Vivo" (ID: 12596008).

The translation is very bad written (guess they used google translate without proofreading if the outcome made sense in spanish), but it's your story word by word.

I'm a spanish speaker and I checked their whole work to see if they aknowledged you, but they haven't did it yet, and seem to also be ignoring the reviews in which people told them to give you credit.

Just wanting to make sure that you were aware of this; greetings from a fellow FF7 fic writer who whishes you the best!

Wow. Wow wow wow. I don't even know where to begin.

This is a site I frequented in high school over a decade ago, and nowadays, it's every once in a blue moon I stop by, and I browse through very little before giving up in finding anything worth my time or of interest, my tastes having very much evolved from crack-y fan-service, haha. All the remake stuff from E3 trudged up a lot of memories of my FFVII obsession years, and out of curiosity I wound up here. I stumbled upon the sequel to this piece, but I was intrigued enough to heed your advice to read this first. Well that was a few days ago and I couldn't put your story down. Tifa's story from Nibelheim to Midgar is a story I've always wanted to know, and unless the remake enlightens us, this may very well sit into my brain as canon for the moment. All the stuff Tifa went through builds perfect character development for the main FFVII story and I love it so much. I was concerned about the idea of such a young marriage/baby, but my concerns were melted away as all the pieces of this intricate and well thought-out story fell into place. I was so impressed from pacing, to editing, to the tangibility of it all. All the details were in place, accurate, and relatable from medical to financial details of adult living. (This pre-med nerd even noticed the use of the Rubin maneuver for the shoulder dystocia during the birth.) You know your stuff and are well-researched, like any good author is and should be!

I'll be 30 soon and just had an unwanted but necessary hysterectomy, without having had the chance to have my own children, and although it's not the same as actually losing a child, I found myself relating to Tifa's grief on an almost painful level. (No sweat, it was cathartic.) She was torn down only to be built back up and you did that gradually and perfectly and beautifully, seeing her with Marlene felt like I do nowadays with my four month nephew, I'm particularly attached to him because of the timing of what I'm going through and we've certainly bonded. I've never been at risk for homelessness, but the realities of financial struggles were certainly real and present. It was these chapters that were particularly eloquent to me, as well as the most fresh in my mind. I could go on and on about all the things, big and small, that really make this stand out, and I'm going to go right onto the sequel with eagerness. I do believe it's been since high school since I actually anticipated and looked forward to new chapters of stories on this site, what a bizarre feeling, haha. (I legit made this new account just to review this.)

Keep up the great work as you feel inspired to, and I look forward to reading on! :)

I've just emersed myself into this fic for the past 3 days and It's just magnificent! This story has haunted me and stayed with me even when I want reading it. The characters, their history, all their nuances are simply enthralling the way you wrote them. I cannot say enough positive things about this. Absolutely amazing read!
Fluid Desert chapter 53 . 10/20/2018

kangaroo-026 chapter 53 . 8/30/2018
Hi, can I just say that this is probably the greatest thing I have ever read! Holy moly, was this an adventure from start to finish!

I don't want to make my review long, but I basically want to say thank you for writing such a beautiful piece centering around two beautiful people. You captured Tifa and Cloud perfectly and you didn't hesitate to bring a twist to their lives by letting them get married and that's just...amazing. You did such a good job writing this and I truly aspire to be as good of a writer as you one day!
CloudsurfingVII chapter 19 . 7/13/2018
This story was rec'ed to me from a member at The Lifestream and I love it so far! I'm going to binge read all weekend and review at the end. *squeeeeees*
ChrysalisBluem chapter 53 . 7/3/2018
I... I couldn't even begin to describe how I feel, how beautiful reading this was, and just how amazing it is all together.

The backstory was downright incredible! I.. I truly felt the love there, you know? I've played every 7 installments in Final Fantasy; from the original VII all the way to DoCand have watched AC to the point me and my brothers actually memorize every line now.

I've been shipping these two for years. And it really makes the romance genre in their universe complicated cuz of the false memories Cloud had and even developing somewhat feelings for our flower girl. So you have no idea how in love I am when I stumble upon your story at 11 in the evening. Didn't sleep til 2:30am cuz I so hooked by this, and I haven't even finished reading yet.

What more can I say? I read every word. Felt every emotion you so wanted to portray. And it felt like the characters were more real with this. The connections you created and filling in holes from the game was superb! I can't think of anything more yto say but 'Here I go, off to read the Sequel'.

See you in the finish line!
Guest chapter 1 . 5/6/2018
What the fuck are you talking about? Cloud and Tifa are close friends in the ff7 compilation, they just haven't been official couple yet.
