Good insight to Daisy and her conservative upbringing and Eden. You definitely hit the nail on reasons for Eden's initial distrust in women. I'll let you know that there are women near military posts, that know the rank and corresponding salary amount for each military member, it's a bit disturbing when you first hear them recite it (at least for me when I did) and also Tricare insurance benefits, divorced spouses are able to stay in Tricare (military insurance) even after a divorce. "Jody" is the name/term known by all military members as one who sleeps with a military member's girlfriend/wife/significant other when said military member is away (usually on deployment).

The only issue I saw with this chapter, this is me nitpicking, is adding more emotion to Daisy as she watches the breaking news about the smallpox outbreak because for the local government's emergency management team to put out a possible flu pandemic that early, the situation is dire and bad. Rarely, do local govt's put out info like that, at least that fast because they don't want to incite civil panic and unrest.

I'm liking Marty, I hop we see him as Daisy gallivants on her adventure.

I would change the "sleeping" word in your title's preview to the more appropriate "sleeper" and instead of "previously served in the," just say "Marine Corps Veteran."

I'd add in your first five days of Green Poison D-Day, when the sickness was identified, when martial law was implemented, when it failed, when the remnants of USNG, NYPD, and medical services began to consolidate into the JTF. Just pick any of the days and throw them in, for realism.

I know action is not going to frequent occur (of your own admission) of your story but when you do have a scene, don't be afraid of it.

Something that would occur relatively frequently, for your female character to remember, is solo trips her husband would make, since I believe all sleeper Agents had to go and get refresher training to keep up on their skills and get briefed on intel current events, etc. All skills are perishable without regular training.
