Hmm - I could supply a long list of flaws of the Panther, starting with the engine (power train in general), but fanboys (and fangirls) don't care anyway :)
In what way was the gun of the G version different?
5th Division? I suggest you use the 4th, 19th or 27th - all these were around Warsaw in August or September. The 5th, I believe, was further north. But I could be wrong as to the 5th's whereabouts.
In OTL all PzDiv had two tank battalions at this point in the war. Also, Panthers were in the 1st battalion, the 2nd being equiped with PzIV (or StuGIII/IV, or a mix, depending on availability). However, with the anarchic OdeB of German units you could argue that a unit had it the other way around :)
Remember, Germans had consecutive numbering of coys within battalions, e.g. coys I-IV in the first and V-VIII in the second.
Cue mental breakdowns in next chapter :D

I do not think that Theo would know how the never fielded Tiger P looked like. He would report it as a Tiger or "odd looking Tiger".
He could recignise the Char B from a war chronicle, I suppose.
