I've been following your stories for more than a year now and I truly love them (the Inuyasha themed ones bc that's my favorite manga and anime :) )

You have a really great writing style that I enjoy and feel like I'm reading a published novel or at least a script that I could easily see turned into a Inuyasha movie.

I hope the hiatus will end soon. My 2 favorite stories are this one and To Protect the Alpha Female. I'm very anxious and excited to see how these end :)

Just got done reading In A New Light and Love's Consequences. I'm in love with these stories :) Kiseki is an awesome character and I feel like she could be an actual canon character if things had went another way. Can't wait to read more bc Sesshy is my favorite Character of mange or anime :)

as far as your question, kogas shard were mildly tainted but never overwhelmingly so and I am pretty sure it was because it was a reflection of himself. basically yes he ate people but from need not carelessly pointless violence. he was passionate and wholely devoted to caring for and protecting his pack and that selfless desire was enough to keep the darkness away that would have consumed him otherwise. at least as far as I can tell.
