Wow. I don’t even know how to explain my feelings toward this chapter. Knowing for certain that he has no negative intentions for her, and that he loves her as much as a god can love a mortal, makes their interactions in the main story a thousand times more confusing? Obviously, we only saw him through Rhea’s biased perspective, and since she’s so fearful of him he only seemed terrifyingly powerful and nonsensical. So are his sudden mood swings just him messing with her? Or is she just not capable of reading him like he can read her? That also introduces another level of discomfort; he has seen every iteration of herself in every other universe, and he knows her even better than she probably knows herself, while she knows nothing about him except the general knowledge that the gods are powerful, temperamental, and capable of great cruelty. I really love and admire how deeply you’ve fleshed out each character’s thoughts, quirks and personalities; in so many stories, characters seem only one-dimensional, and it makes them feel artificial, but in your story, they feel like real people. I hope you continue writing and sharing with us!
