QueenMaryofEngland chapter 74 . 6/8
Hello! Hope you are keeping well! I have reread the entire of the story and I am glad that I did, it is wonderful!

I don't see many stories where Jane is shown in a sympathetic light and I think it was really well done here. I like how you show that Jane is another one of Henry's victims. Anne and Jane's relationship is interesting. Of course Anne is angry and resentful at first as she sees that Jane is the reason she is no longer Queen but the situation that Anne is in, still being a prominent noble and having her daughter remain legitimate, allows her to see things from Jane's perspective. They were both women who were pushed into marriage with the King by their families. The idea that this is some sort of revenge for what Anne did to Katherine is also an interesting idea.

I think I'm some ways Jane was best suited to survive as Henry's Queen as she reacted to his cruel actions by being impassive and allowed him to do what he wanted to do. Unlike Anne or Katherine who fought for what they believed which made them better politicians than Jane who doesn't have their influence but it also made their position unstable as it made Henry grow distant from them.

I like your portrayal of Henry. He was someone who always believed he was right no matter what so it is interesting watching him justify his actions. When he is cruel to others he expects them to immediately forget and be grateful for any apologies are made but if something is done against him he has every right to hold a grudge. He is a child! As seen in the potential marriage between Anne and Thomas Seymour.

Mary Tudor is nice. The poor girl clearly believed her father had always loved her and seeing him do the opposite allows her to grow and become more politically aware rather than holding onto hope that he would one day change.

Hal Percy is a free man! I think it unlikely that Henry would allow him and Anne to marry. Perhaps they may do so in private. I wonder what Henry's reaction to such a thing would be? I also love that Jane was the one who reached out to Cromwell. Having him back at court would be interesting. While he clearly likes Hal Percy I'm sure Cromwell would not hesitate to see him fall if it meant that Anne would fall with him.

I am excited for your new chapters. Stay safe!

Ugh, all Thomases are the WORST in your story! Thomas Boleyn, Thomas Seymour, jeez Louise! Hope Thomas Boleyn gets what’s coming for him. And poor Mary! Hopefully she tells Anne what happened and Anne and Jane can take steps to keep her daughter safe...
