This is really good. Everyone is in-character, and I like this premise. The story is well-written, the dialogue is good, and the emotional reactions are touching.

I especially liked the bit where Peridot initially thought that Steven had been lieing to her and slacking off, and then growing concerned when he wasn't moving or responding.

I really enjoyed this story.

I like feeling the feel of fluffy fluff like this. Dangit, something about Steven and Peridot's alienated sibling relationship resonates in me. You write them perfectly. It's SO what I like seeing between them.
