Tale as old as time
Tune as old as song
Bittersweet and strange, finding you can change, learning you were wrong

Samantha Clement chapter 34 . 7/14
Aww the Epilogue was so lovely! I was kindof cautiously prepping my tissues before reading it , knowing I'd cry at Helsa being forced apart, which I did (what? you're not surprised?) but it wasn't heartbreakingly sad and it didn't feel depressing. Instead it had a gorgeously hopeful feel to it which I thought was wonderful :) I'm looking forward to reading their new adventure in book 3(and seeing how you bring them back together of course ;) !), and I thought this was a beautifully written romantic end to book 2. Well done my friend! I loved it right from the title based on the Thomas Moore poem, to the love duet reprise between Hans & Elsa at the finish! I also loved the references to the faith hope and love scripture in 1 Corinthians that your book titles are based on. Even your end notes were reassuring and heartwarming *teary happy smiles*. The romance was perfect, just tinged with the sorrow of parting, but more full of looking forward to the time when Helsa will be back together forever, the knowledge that their love is deep, true and eternal. The Kings kept me giggling and smiling, the convo between the sisters was uplifting, and I enjoyed reading about Iduna working on Agnarr's mood, and seeing what Hans, Elsa & Kristoff had all been up to with their planning from last chapter. That was brilliant BTW - with even Agnarr being impressed - yay! Also adding in a little (ok maybe it was a big whopping) SQUEE at Hans dad being as enthusiastic about Hans & Elsa's wedding & them having children of their own as I am! :D I'll try and remember to keep Christian's words in mind "have patience my dear", but nothin' is really dampening my enthusiasm. Book 2 was amazing from the start and the story kept getting better and better the more you wrote, just like your writing keeps on getting better. I've enjoyed it all since your first book but these chapters (especially the Helsa love chapter but it wasn't the only one) just blew me away with awesomeness, and the Epilogue did not disappoint either. I really believe book 3 will be fantastic! *highfive!*
The opening of the epilogue was a good reminder of all Agnarr had been through.I agree he was "doing fairly well" at the party, all things considered. He's had a rough ride and then faced a big wake-up moment about his not-so-little-anymore girls and the men they love, so I'll try to razz at him a little bit less ;) Iduna is always there to fill in when he ices up. Her support of her hubby and her own endless love for him (even at his most "stubborn, inflexible and uncompromising") is really sweet. I liked how you wrote her feelings for him and how she was so positive with Crix, keeping the peace. She's as happy about Elsa and Hans as he is, so she wasn't about to let Agnarr mess things up due to one of his moods: "his more sagacious half would not let him be so pigheaded and confrontational" Obvs I was cheering Iduna on here :)
Christian made me smile, laugh and wanna do happy dances all at the same time! Def one of my fave characters now! I was wondering if you chose Hans new Estate because of the name being like queen Auguste, so it was great to see you answer that here and I think it fits the story perfectly. Crix knows what a massive difference Elsa has made to his life and his family and I really liked seeing him acknowledge that to Agnarr :" this magical little lady gave my life back to me" Aww! I loved seeing the previously formidable coldhearted old man now being so warm, happy, cheerful and with a new lease of life, determined to make up for the past and live the rest of his life to the full, showing love to his family at last (long sentence sorries!). I was smiling so much at him looking forward to getting his invitation to Helsa's "dazzling wedding" and expecting Hans to bring Elsa back "home" as "lady" of Hans new estate and coming over to Egeskov for visits. Some of my fave little quotes are:" Adieu for now my little Elsie, I expect to see you and Hans back here and settling into Augustenborg very soon" "we will meet quite often now that we are family" and "you've made this the finest B'day I've ever had..I hope by my next celebration I may call you daughter? I know I'm rushing it a bit but I would enjoy seeing what lovely grandchildren such a handsome couple would produce" *SQUEE* LOVeloveLove! I'm like.. wow how he was at the start of the story I never expected to be in such total agreement with him but by this point I'm clapping and nodding along with him *laughs* :D Did I mention how much I like Hans' dad these days? :P *grins* When Elsa hugged him was sooo lovely! I'm glad to see Agnarr surprised by it as well. Such a shame that he still insisted on leaving that night, but all considered he's taken it all as well as he can for now. Iduna and his daughters will all work on warming him up to Hans & Kristly, just as Elsa warmed up Crix, right? :)
Elsa's deep blush when Crix decided he was going right then to give Hans some advice on.. ahem.. married life and especially producing children (no surprise he considers himself an expert with 13 XD) was adorable, even while the moment in the story was funny. Edmund's total tactlessness here made me literally laugh out loud - of cooouurse he's gotta brag in true Eugene style in front of everyone, about his own son and the fact he's got twins on the way-"two blessed results of his manhood". So "Horace" would be "only too glad to elucidate" on the subject for his inexperienced Lillebror Hans eh? that was hilarious! Now I'm thinking about it, Eugene prolly would! just as openly as his dad *chuckles* I really love the fact that Hans has never had or ever wanted anyone but Elsa in that way TBH, but I feel sorry for him that big-hearted big-mouthed Edmund just announced that fact to like.. literally everyone within earshot! *is giggling* Good thing Hans wasn't there to hear or he'd be redder than his hair, no? :D Especially cos good ole Oncle Edmund has been apparently discussing it with the rest of Hans brothers as well -oopsy! I don't know what to do more- facepalm for Hans sake or laugh. I'm doing both XD Nice save from Rapunzel. This is another instance where I'm soo glad that you added Edmund into the adventure though, I really think he adds to the fun :)

Fred (*giggles at choice of Shakespeare quote as they're about to travel!*)has still got his heart set on his new race course in Corona eh? good to see how enthusiastic it makes him (aw yes the babies are more important but let him follow his new dream Ari) and I liked that he invited all the Westergaards over to join in. It makes Punzy happy too cos she'll be seeing more of her new friends/extended family again. Her own invitation to the other princesses was sweet as well, especially to Hermine. They'll both be new moms together-so cute! I enjoyed reading their "farewell" as it was more of a "see you again soon", particularly as you included the princes agreeing on the visit with their wives. I love this big newly united family sooo much it makes me feel all happy inside now *lots of heart emojis* And where was Horace*cough*Eugene during all the heartwarming farewell's? trust Pascal to tell on him! doing a bit of last minute gambling with his Storbors and losing so bad he's trying to convince them to take his new medal instead of monies? hahaha that was so Eugene! XD he knows he's already hit the jackpot in life really though by finding love with Rapunzel which is way more important than all the gold n shiny things in the world. I think how you described his happiness with her and his looking forward to their new family together was lovely.
The farewell to adorable Lukas & his mom Daphne was very touching :) they're two more people who have a better happier life ahead now due to making friends with the Arendelle sisters. Loved the encouragement and kind words they gave Lukas before they left *happy smiles* The maids who also made friends with the sisters dressing them up in new travelling clothes was nice too. I wonder if Anna will fit in hers for much longer with all the treats they sent as gifts at the same time- there's no way she'll resist filling her face unless Mattias keeps strict watch over them so Halima can share when they get home *laughs* :D I think Elsa especially would look gorgeous in her Southern Isles travel outfit ( I might have to make that for my Elsa doll...)
Anna and Elsa's convo about Hans was brilliant. Anna:"where is that Hans anyway, did Papa scare him away or did he wet his pants with all the excitement of getting everything that he ever wanted handed to him on a silver platter?" Anna is kinda shocked at just how lucky "that Red" is, and she's a bit worried about Marshmallow's reaction, but she's genuinely happy for her sister who is obviously "madly in love" with Hans- as Iduna also notices with approval "if you trust him with your heart, why not everything else?"- YAY! :) I liked that Elsa chuckled at her little sis teasing instead of getting annoyed, embarrassed or stressy, it shows her character growth as well. Her reply to Anna's wondering if Hans will be ok with Marshmallow cos he wasn't his biggest fan before (understatement!) was perfect :" yes but you're the one who said that we don't have to live in fear (good use of F1 song reference),Anna, it's what's in here that counts most to wipe away any resentment and taught me that. He is so witty and brilliant and noble, now that he's truly atoned for his sins, my Hans can win over anyone's heart" SO true! let's hope he wins Agnarr over sooner than 2 years! I liked Mattias reply BTW ,and Elsa showing her feelings for Hans, and Anna noticing all the emotion inside her sister, in her eyes- that was so well described! "you really do love him, don't you Elsa" the reply: " I adore him more for all that he is, every moment that passes Anna. Since my time spent in Ahtohallan I can understand what that truly means even more, how time is precious, as is an enduring love" . It was so romantic how passionately Elsa speaks of wanting to hold on to all her precious memories made with Hans and how she has tears in her eyes and touches the forget me not bouquet Hans gave her. Ahtohallan having all those lovely new memories preserved in it is something I didn't think of before but you mention it a bit later on and I absolutely adore that idea! going back to this scene though, Anna's reaction made me feel tearyhappy too-" As Anna gazed directly into Elsa's eyes that glisten with the same sparkling shimmer as the forget-me-not flowers affixed to her chest, over her heart, the ginger girl decided there and then she would everything she could to help Elsa-and yes Hans Westergaard-achieve their dreams of love on the road ahead" *is cheering Anna on* loved that!and I loved Iduna noticing those flowers and knowing exactly what they mean too, quoting the Thomas Moore poem the title is based on. So romantic! and making me feel not sad but full of hope :) I also chuckled at Anna's reply "he'd better not (forget that love) or I'll kill him" XD
King Christian and Hans hug farewell and how tearful they both got - oh my goodness that made me emotional as well- but in a good way! so beautiful! and Hans reminding him of his mom -aww! Crix calling Hans his "son" and happily wishing him to visit along with Elsa "or better yet, host me to dinner in your palatial estate..our Elsie will make a grand mistress of that house for you, Son.A true Lady Augustenborg"..Elsa "nods and blushes demurely back, imagining herself in that new and exciting role of keeping house for Hans..who gazes back at her through equally shy but proud eyes" yesyesyes! *delighted claps* Typical King Edmund piping up in the sweet moment to Elsa about what he'd and his family would like to eat "when you begin your housekeeping in that large estate for this man who has not yet had any relations with women" then everyone freezes up*unladylike snorts of laughter* XD he's hilarious! Fantastically smooth reply from blushing Hans though! " yes my future bride and I look forward to that auspicious day", and I love how an equally blushing Elsa looks up at Hans as he tickles her chin - aww *dreamy sigh*
I'm glad Agnarr didn't lose it and freeze anyone at that point XD though Anders pushed his luck waay too far and prolly would have found himself either in that duel or as an ice statue had Iduna not stepped in again. Looks like Anders is still the one most influenced by the Count in those take-over strategies- not helped by his own past. He's still got some way to go on his path to complete change for the good by the look of it but he'll get there. Eventually!. He can't resist riling Agnarr or getting greedy grabby hands at Arendelle eh? but he does love his own wife. He totally deserved the quick dose of frostbite to shake him to his senses ;)

The plan Hans had to transport Marshmallow home via the amazing flying sleigh created by his Elsa and then all the pretty flying snow horses he asked Kristly to borrow from his mom the Snow Queen is wonderful! what a fantastic idea! (hmmI also like the idea Hans can mentally contact Kristly! that could be interesting!). It shows how thoughtful he is towards Agnarr (being able to recover and spend time with his family on the trip home) Marshmallow (who is now enjoying the ride in style as well as liking Hans more and not draining the King's energies) and even the snowgies (how sweet was that bit where Hans got them to behave then rewarded them, especially Wilhelm!). This part of the scene was awesome - bonus *highfive* for it softening Agnarr towards Hans (a bit) and impressing him (a lot). You gotta know I loved this bit too when Hans takes the lead flying on the snow horse and "Elsa's eyes had traced her young man's every sleek line cutting across the rising moonlit horizon above her like he was some mythical divine being. 'Oh Hans you are spectacular" (me agreeing!) Elsa loses herself in another reverie of imagining what it would be like flying through the clouds..with her handsome hero's arms tight around her "this is what it's like being in love" (I want to see them fly like that too!). The way you described their expressions of love and commitment for each other at the end was sooo beautiful! they're holding on to that dream of being together "all the love we'll share, all the days of joy, all the nights of bliss ahead for us in a lifetime together" when they can finally be married, instead of letting the thought of parting make them sad "for they knew that their linked souls would someday find all the dreams they dreamed together... the glorious aura of their true love would dawn a glorious morn where there would be no more hollow emptiness, no more lonely regrets, no more lovelorn sadness in their forever bonded hearts" LOVE this so sooo much! I cried happy tears instead of sad ones. I felt the hope and the love in this scene, and I loved the kiss Elsa sent to Hans and how they held onto their tokens of love from each other and imagined that happier time when they'd "meet again, dream again together, with abiding trust in one another as the other half of their heart" the ending reprise song and last lines were so perfect! you captured all the romance and the hope and the love! how can I be sad at that? It was gorgeous! More well dones. hugs &heart emojis than you imagine right here!*So now more than ever I can't wait for book 3! *stays glued to screen for updates* :)
Samantha Clement chapter 33 . 7/13
Ok you win! After reading this chapter I've got my happy smile back properly :) and I didn't need my tissues either -although I'm still razzling at Agnarr.. that's ok though, right? ;) I mean he's still being a party pooper (or is that a "tarty popper"? :D ) but even over-protective-iced-up-brain Papa couldn't stop my enjoyment of this one. (FYI I do still like him really but he's got a lot of sucking up to do after how he's been treating Hans, and even Kristly, so I might be razzling him for a while yet depending :P ) There were lots of things in this chapter I absolutely loved - like how Hans won over Marshmallow, the romantic parts (thank you!),the solution to Edmund's loneliness, the comedy with Eugene and the shenanigans with Anna etc at the party. There's also some mystery going on with Hans and Elsa and even Kristly involved with planning something which I'm soo looking forward to reading more about, and of course I want to see how Hans wins Agnarr over. I honestly can't tell what was in your original version and what's new (other than obvious new characters from TTS or F2), and I think that's awesome. Go ahead and extend it as much as you like my friend, this chapter left me feeling warm and hopeful *gives hugs of gratitude*

You started it where last chapter left off, with Marshmallow in a rage at the couple, and now Hans is protectively standing in front of Elsa. I was initially thinking "oh no!", especially cos the "snow beast" had been sent by Agnarr and he can sense how annoyed Papa is right now with Hans, plus Marshmallow himself hasn't forgotten/forgiven Hans for chopping his leg 4 years earlier in F1. Making friends with someone in that frame of mind is no easy task, so no wonder Elsa is scared for Hans safety. Marshmallow has mellowed and learned a lot since his first encounter with Hans but Agnarr's instructions/influence (and *gulp* thoughts of doing away with Elsa's beau :O ) have made him go off-the-scale crazy. I liked how Elsa was concerned for him as well as Hans- not wanting either of them to fight over her or get hurt. I also enjoyed how you built up the tension in the scene then completely turned it around with the most surprising and fantastic outcome! It was sweet and romantic too *happy smiles* Marshmallow going spiky with rage and Hans drawing his sword in a replay of the F1 scene was dramatic, with neither about to back down, but that's as far as the resemblance goes. Marshmallow can't control his anger and he's not even listening to Elsa to start with, but Hans stands his ground and has a plan: " there was something else, well beyond assurance and determination behind Hans stunning green eyes that flash back over his shoulder to her, that heartened Elsa to trust him to handle this his way. Going by faith in her love alone, Elsa quietly steps back and watches" (me too- glued to my screen by this bit). I was totally cheering when I read the plan! Hans was still in character, still smooth, still clever, but he's changed for the good too and he showed humility and kindness. I loved when Hans put his sword in the ground instead, knelt by Marshmallow's feet, and apologized for the past. I also loved that he quietly added " I surrender myself to you because we both care too much for Elsa to ever cause her any fear or frustration" Yes Hans is being smart choosing the right words to give him a chance at calming the angry snow monster, but he's also planning to make friends with him! YAY! Bonus effect- he impressed Elsa even more! Neither of her protectors react in the aggressive way of the past but they have a "manful discussion" plus "As the Queen's most loyal defender, Hans wanted to recognize Marshmallow, and in order to legitimize that belief he glances to Elsa, pointing to his newly acquired estate of Augustenborg coat of arms...their minds as one, Elsa understood that Hans desired her to create a similar..badge for Marshmallow". Hans appointing him as captain of the guard was such an awesome idea! *highfive* Kinda understandable that "snow Beast" is torn - not knowing if Hans is only being a trickster, particularly since he's got Agnarr's voice in his head. I thought how you wrote Elsa's response, using her own "wiles" ( while telling the truth) to get him to listen was great! "Prince Hans is my true love now. He has proven so many times how honestly repentant he is...I've forgiven him.I love him and wish for you to learn to be fond of him too. Please won't you try for me?" Go Elsa! :D see what a brilliant team Hans & Elsa make? *happy smiles* You had another surprise in store too! I'd never guess Olaf would be a star in this chapter but he was! Completely in character for both F1 and F2 with his childlike innocent wisdom, plenty big words, and acting out the explanation of all the amazing things Hans has done, to prove to his snow bro " JustHans is a good guy now", how much he truly loves Elsa, how he saved everyone including Agnarr & Iduna. Me:" Hey Olaf? It's me Samantha! can you also go remind that pesky Iced up King that Hans took a bullet for him?" *bats eyelashes*.Hans all blushing at Olaf's praise was so cute! innocent minded Olaf always tells it like it is, so Marshmallow knows he can trust Hans now too *squee* I loved how Olaf concluded with " I am going to give him a warm hug right now for all he's done because he cares so much for Elsa! Hug time JustHans!" Elsa:" you're right Olaf,my Hans is my new superhero, I love him and there is no fear in love". THIS IS ADORABLE! not just cos Elsa can be open about her love for Hans now, but also the references to your Book 1 events and the scripture 1 John 4:18 -perfect! Aww the grouphug between the 4 is such a nice touch too *claps delighted hands* & yay for Marshmallow accepting Hans offer! I never imagined at the end of last chapter that this scene would be so awesome, but you did it again! Great writing! *sends own warm hugs*. Of course I loved the Helsa romance in the next bit - how Hans feels about Elsa and wishes he had a pic of her looking as she does at that moment with her eyes full of love for him *dreamy swoon at him wanting "something of her to keep close to his heart"* That locket Elsa creates for him is gorgeous but it made it even more meaningful and beautiful that she put it on her own necklace "she had lovingly placed around his cutely freckled neck" (happyHelsa fan doing happy dances here!). Their kisses/expressions of love and even a bit of cheeky bantering after made me smile from ear to ear again.I adore his love for her and his confidence in her, as well as hers for him- they're so perfect for each other- that scene was wonderful :) I wonder what's on the piece of paper he hands her before they go back to the party?

The next scene made me feel less annoyed at Papa. He's still being overprotective, but good to see him check on Hans safety showing he doesn't have a totally frozen heart when it comes to Elsa's man. Sending "snow beast" to possibly cause "Hans untimely demise at his mental urging" gave him a twinge of panic & an conscience eh? ;) I loved Elsa standing up to him and Iduna eyeing him with an "accusatory glare", and I sighed with relief that the good man in Papa meant he was actually relieved that Hans is still in one piece. This was was great:" since her time spent in the enchanted forest and Athohallan, Elsa was growing more confident" as a woman"...in leaps and bounds with her Hans to always support" her "in all her endeavors" I liked how you used that F2 reference to show Elsa's confidence /character growth here while staying true to her character from F1 (unlike F2) / your original story, then you showed how Hans completes her *massive thumbs up*
Edmund was making me giggle again in the bit where Punzy is showing off an unimpressed Eugene's new medal and he corrects her: "you mean Sir Horace" hahaha then he messes up by taking the order of the elephant to be literal XD I liked the sweet part in the comedy where he said how proud Eugene's mom would be of him- aww. Oh and I adored your solution to Edmund's loneliness! Crix has asked him to stay on and get to know the family better/visit whenever he wants?! not just cos Auguste would have wanted it either "my Kingdom is your kingdom" made me feel all warm n fuzzy. *laughs at Eugene* "he's not too much trouble really, once you get used to his volume" Obviously he doesn't see how much he's like his dad when it comes to volume and tact hey? :P *grins at Ari telling him off for not treating the ceremony- or the outfit- with respect* I was laughing at how you had him describing it- so funny!" look at this silly dubleu thingy, these sardine-can tight white breeches, velvet straightjacket..I feel like a blinkin' convict.. with all these buckles & straps tying me in..how am I ever going to live this down" *chuckles* he's got a point! personally I love the outfit but I reckon the Snuggly Duckling guys and Cass are prolly gonna tease him forever :D On a different note, I loved when he said to Punzy " now we can start our new dream", and how happy she is with her new family that she "would no doubt illustrate on the wall when they got home" *nods* I can totally see that happening. You included the Tangled/TS characters/references soo well here like they've always been in your story, everyone is in character but they also fit right into this story perfectly too. Hope that makes sense? I was impressed, and this scene made me giggle and feel joyful at the same time.
Anna risked another dance with Weselton? *grins* he hasn't improved his skills any either XD thankfully he's another reformed character which ties in with the Disney short story about him and the sisters meeting up again and making friends. I was wondering about the Arendelle knighting ceremony (poor Eugene *laughs* he's got another one to get through, he's sooo really not gonna live it down- but I bet he uses it for bragging rights too! :P ) I was glad Iduna mentioned it here and that their ship heading home with have "Prince Hans safely upon it" YAY! also YAY that Iduna approved of Elsa's recent romantic rendezvous with Hans in the twilit garden cos "the delighted mother knew from that certain glow on her Elsa's radiant features".What she said to Agnarr showed her sassiness and wisdom that totally won that round "Our Elsa is like a hothouse flower that has at last tasted fresh sunlight & clear rainwater to blossom to her full potential my love. She has proven her strength & resolve & creativity to adapt to any situation, not only in Arendelle & the enchanted lands, but also here in this Kingdom where she and Anna have made so many influential and lasting friendships" Ha! she sure told him and he can't deny it much as it annoys him *razzes Agnarr for good measure*
Their "rebel in braids" nearly messing up the buffet was a fun scene as Kristly, Elsa, Mattias and even Blysk the dog got called in to save the pastries (and to save Anna from a telling off from papa I reckon). I was laughing at "Hurricane Anna's" antics. The other thing that made the scene so good apart from the comedy was the royals/visitors reactions. At the start of the book they were so unwelcome, stuffy n formal, but now they're applauding Kristly's save (as well as those muscles!), adorable Anna, and Elsa's pretty displays of her gift now she's not afraid to show off cos of Hans encouragement. Loved that as a surprise at the end of the party. Talking of Hans, I loved his admiration of Elsa to his dad - but where has he been & what is he up to? *is curious*
King Christian accepting Kristoff as "worthy to address ads royalty" was nice- Agnarr could learn a thing or two from him now eh? ;) Iduna and Mattias approve of Kristly too so papa can't send him packing -which is awesome- not that Anna is gonna let anyone part her and her man! *grins at Anna thinking of continuing her much-interrupted honeymoon* Something tells me things won't go quite to plan - there's another adventure about to happen and there's no way Anna would miss out on that or on a chance to help her sister (she might get some sneaky honeymoon time inbetween though knowing Anna :D ) .
I liked how you wrote Iduna quickly singing "greensleeves" to stop irritated Agnarr from hitting back at Anders. He might not be anyone's fave Westergaard bro right now and he did push his former rival, but the Ice King isn't one to mess with in his current frame of mind, so nice save Iduna! that could have been a disaster! Agnarr is confused at Hans request in the last bit, he's glad his Vise Admiral is talking about overseeing the animals on the trip back rather than overseeing Elsa .. though surely Hans is gonna do that too, right?...he's definitely plotting something I hope so anyways. Hans taking Elsa a cup of tea then they exchange "some hushed serious words in secret collaboration" Oooh I'm lovin' the sound of that! tell me more!
Agnarr's mind is sortof distracted from thinking bad thoughts towards his daughters' men for a while.. until he had that non too flattering thought of "my little girl is this dirt covered plebian boy's wife" when Anna refuses to "swap" her hubby into the Danish Navy. Mattias "you do not want to go there fella" Me: too right! She managed to insult all the brothers at the same time - oopsy Anna! :P Iduna's response to her naughty hoyden daughter was awesome though - love how you wrote that (as well as the funny description of Anna afterwards). Elsa's words in praise of Kristly and how good he & Anna are together were also beautifully written. I'm so glad Agnarr listens to her and realizes that Queen Elsa will sooo not let him mess up that marriage, with Iduna and Anna backing her up.
I guess it's a good thing that Agnarr thinks he "won this battle of wills" by mocking Kristly a bit - best to let him finish the party in a good mood, right? and the chapter too :) I'm dyin' to know what Hans & Elsa were whispering about, and where Hans & Kristly ran off to. Also in your end note "what can our clever Dane do to charm his father-in-law" Another great question! I'm really excited for the next chapter, happy I didn't need my tissues, and happy to see all the support for my fave Hans-some prince and his "Snowflake". Fantastic chapter! and *squee of joy* the next one is ready so no waiting! *happy dances* I'm off to read it now :)

BEAUTIFUL I CANT WAIT FOR THE THIRD BOOK
MWSeraph chapter 33 . 7/12
Sorry for the late review, but I just could not stop reading these last six to eight chapters over and over again because of how good and cute they are!

Elsa and Hans are just so lovely together. It's not easy to be both dignified and hilarious, but they both pull it off nicely. Elsa having to chase her snowgies around was really funny, and so is Hans sweeping Elsa off her feet with his dramatic romance.

I could say so much more, but with how little space there is for words in reviews, I can tell you that this revision of your Frozen Again Book 2 is way better than the last one. Thanks for updating, and God bless!

Beautiful chapter I loved it
Samantha Clement chapter 32 . 7/10
*Peeks out of tissue fortress to read new chapter* I still feel sad about the forced separation, but I'm trusting you and your writing/storytelling skills to make me happy again (no pressure *grins* ;) ) and this chapter really helped a lot to turn my face from :( to :) What was my fave part? well there were lots of things in this one to make me smile and even laugh. The whole chapter had a feel-good factor to it (Agnarr aside-Iduna please sort out your hubby!) which went a long way to easing the sadness of the previous chapter *thumbs up!*, but I bet you know already what my fave part was! I absolutely loved the Helsa romance in the moonlit garden *happy sigh* It was a bit bittersweet knowing they'll soon be apart again (*sniffles*), but the Forget-me-not flower and story behind it was really beautiful, seeing Hans and Elsa's romantic moonlight waltz alone together with the gorgeous song (I have it saved! it really is perfect for this chapter, and for both of them as a duet) ,their expressions of true and love and faithfulness, and how you described all of that in this gorgeous scene was absolutely wonderful! I adore scenes like this: romantic , heartfelt, warm, a little bit cheeky, and showing a whole lot of love and chemistry between Hans and Elsa. I hope you have plenty more planned, because aside from me loving to read about this couple happy and together, you write this type of scene sooo beautifully. Also I thought Hans being reinstated by his father as a Prince was great, but him being awarded with his own castle/estates/land, for him and Elsa to have from now on totally made me do happy dances! :D He can support them both without relying on his in laws or his wife, or a navy career, he has enough income to support them having a family too*squee of joy* , as well as somewhere in the Southern Isles of their own where they can stay and visit the King. Also it was more proof of King Christian's change of heart towards his youngest son, and his approval of him and Elsa. It was a surprise for sure, but it was an AWESOME one! YAY! I looked up Augustenborg castle/palace to see what the real one is like and WOW it's massive, and amazing, right by the fjord (which I thought was extra romantic). I love the idea of giving Helsa this place, and bonus awesome that Hans Christian Anderson actually stayed there IRL. I was also really happy to see all the support for Hans and Elsa as a couple from the other characters , especially Christian and Iduna who both had some plotting to get them together in this chapter (yes! *highfive* love those two!) , and even Anna as well who feels compassionate, plus I was totally razzling at Agnarr when the Czar made him toast Helsa's engagement in front of everyone XD Iduna's man-management skills were brilliant as well. I always enjoy how you write her character, and she was one of the stars of this chapter for me too. She sure gave Agnarr something else to think about other than shooting frosty glares at Hans, the engagement /plotting separation *cheers Iduna* Kristly is so right to be glad that he and Anna got married before Papa returned!(good thing Mattias saved the day without him knowing as well since Agnarr was still considering annulment! eep!). The party was fun and heartwarming, I loved all the family unity scenes - oh and Eugene's new tattoo! More on that later *is giggling*. So yep, overall this was a happy chapter that left me smiling and feeling hopeful again - thank you! *heart emoji* Now go get that coffee before you read further ;)
The carnival atmosphere is enjoyable and I can just picture Anna filling her face, enjoying every second of the party, and still having room to eat cotton candy afterwards! *grins* as well as having enough energy left to get Mattias and Kristly helping to entertain the kids. I liked how you included the F2 characters here with Mattias sending messages to Yelena via Gale, then thinking of her as his conscience as well as his friend now, calling her "his better self" that was sweet! the other detail I enjoyed was the surprise that Didrik is such a good dad. Just goes to show that first impressions aren't always right, and we should never underestimate the ability of anyone to change for the better :) Obviously Eugene is still liking this "Storbror" (his new drinking buddy eh? *laughs*) who is more like himself than he'd ever imagined. I like the idea of them being friends now. Your comedy with Eugene was priceless in this scene too! Yep Eugene you aren't going to forget this party in a hurry, despite being tipsy for most of it- not with that permanent reminder tattoo :D The description of it was a real tea-spraying moment! Punzy "almost burst out in merry laughter at the funny caricature of her handsome guy in a less than flattering tattoo art of himself-elongated nose and all- holding his signature frying pan with a name non too endearing etched on it as a moniker". This sortof reminded me of Kawena Eugene but if the Snuggly Duckling pub thugs had decided to redraw it in their unflattering cartoon style instead of looking gorgeous XD and of cooourse they had to get the nose wrong :P At this point I thought they had put "Horace" on it as the moniker, but having them do a typo : "Rapunzel's theif" made it even more hilarious! I was laughing out loud at that and I just kept laughing as I read! Punzy and Pascal touching the new "art" causing him to do an effeminate squeal "ouchy!" in front of Franz of all people was awesome! cos Franz just happens to have a boatload of "manly" African tattoos from his adventuring days plastered over him. Franz:"take a look at these cousin, and I have more where they came from" *pulls his vest and shirt open to display his wares* Eugene: "I did NOT need to see that" Me: *fits of laughter* cos I feel like I can see him and hear him XD Franz reminded me a bit of Gaston from BATB when he did that with his shirt, then I spotted your nod to Maui from Moana when our tipsy "theif" imagined the tattoos were dancing and laughing at him along with his other "Storbrors" who happened to join in the scene with perfect comedy timing. Gotta love his older cousins "male bonding method of inducting Eugene Horace into the family" Brilliant! :D *Grins at Edmund's encouragement to work on his "glower" as he makes his "devastating glare as he just happens by his son's misfortune" then leaves him to it to go enjoy himself with his other relatives * Aww I love Edmund having a good time and being welcomed properly to join in :) Eugene might be regretting drinking quite so much "water" and..er.. "medicine" was it? not only cos of his new memento but cos he easily gets roped into singing with Punzy/Anna/the ladies.. well.. with a little encouragement from Cass and a few threats to help him make up his mind to sortof co-operate *chuckles* I laughed again when he sang "for he's a jolly old fellow, for he's a jolly old geezer" XD Good to see he's still liking the idea of being a dad, despite the razzling twin girls who remind him to steel himself " for the noisy pandemonium of joy and tears...coming soon to a medical theatre near him" *giggles* that part was soo great! Hmm looks like Kristly has his mind going in the same direction eh? well he does if his "braided Pixie" Anna has her way! she's already getting some good practice in with all the fun she's having with the kids at the party ;) it was cute when Anna sang the Avaloran lullaby with Gloria Lujza too(who is still admiring her man at the same time- spoilt for choice! :D ). Giving you a *highfive* for the bit where Yelena and the other elementals are in the water garden and Anna can speak to them (which makes sense to me since she's also half northuldran/Elsa's sister/Iduna's daughter as well as her connection with Kristly. I never thought about it before, but good reasoning!) - not only that, she tells them they can go home cos "Elsa's safe with Hans" YAY! she surprised herself but she means it! " the generous girl could feel that with a changed for the better Hans now, Elsa would be bundled up with love" *happy romantic smiles*
Olaf's insistence on giving each child a "warm hug greeting" so he could remember them by description was fun. Kinda reminded me of when he was naming the Snowgies to Marshmallow in FF, but better. Kristoff: "this may take a while" *chuckles* No kiddin'! Olaf doesn't do intro shortcuts and there's 22 grandkids plus all the other children from the village and orphanage to get through! :O
King Christian has genuinely had the best day ever and I sooo enjoyed seeing him so happy, loving every second and being grateful for second chances. "Egeskov has not seen such joy and happiness for far too many years and I thank you all" That's so not how things would have gone if it wasn't for Elsa coming to the Southern Isles to find Hans, then ending up completely changing his life, and that of his family, for the better. He knows it too. Anna, Rapunzel and the others all joining in singing the song for him, regardless of their station in life was lovely. I especially liked how you added the parts in his own language, and him having tears of gratitude, holding Punzy and Anna's hands. "I have never had such a wonderful time before, on this day of new beginnings" Oh I love the sense of harmony and love here (not to be undone by Eugene wishing he had bags of gold instead of traditional clothes and a special ceremony, thanks to Punzy bringing him to his senses with a quick "owwie" smack :D)
Anna spotting a problem with Elsa and Hans, then getting Kristly to investigate with his gifts made me happy, cos instead of gloating over Hans feeling broken hearted Anna shows her more mature loving side - she"could not in her kind heart be unsympathetic towards her former enemy..now that he was Elsa's dearest" Aww! she's come all this way to help them become reunited cos she knows how much they love each other and she truly wants them to be happy together. Anna rushing over to comfort Elsa was really sweet of her and in character. She cares a lot about Elsa's happiness, so I hope she has some plans to sort Papa out too!
"Why have a ballroom with no balls" *grins* Perfect line from the F1 song as they plan an impromptu ball literally "for the first time in forever" in the next scene for this family as part of the evening celebration. I liked Crix's flashback thoughts of his wife and sister who had both loved to dance and who would both be so proud of him now. I also liked his plotting! If I didn't like him already I would have after this scene :D He knows he can free Elsa from Agnarrs over-possessive grip by asking her to dance with him- he also knows Hans would come along with her YAY! I thought it was so lovely how Elsa told Crix how proud his wife would be to see him "with all his sons at last", Crix answering with" Thank you for the my Elsie.I am so very grateful that it was you who bought my Hans home" He's happily looking forward to her marrying Hans and joining his family, so he pulls his plan off to get Hans & Elsa dancing together with an excuse that his old legs are tired- and Agnarr can't stop it!(well not for a while) *squee at this* :"King Christian marvels at how perfectly Hans & Elsa fit together" AGREE x 100000000! the other person plotting in the dance scene is Iduna. Very clever getting Agnarr's former rival Anders to dance with her and in so doing she directs his jealousy towards them and away from his daugther *delighted claps* :) Iduna singing, knowing it would make a difference too, winning her the round, made it even better! Agnarr can't resist going after his wife but it also ended up putting an end to any rivalry between Anders, Frederika and the couple at the same time. Clever and heartwarming how they came together, knowing for sure they were meant for each other just as Agnarr & Iduna were. Your details about the party were awesome as well, not only the setting and characters but how you added some extra realism with the conductor/Danish orchestra/ singer Jenny Lind making an appearance with the "lovers eyes" song.
Pity Agnarr still managed to get Elsa away from Hans during the dance, but it was wonderful how he ended up with Iduna who reassured him how proud his mom would have been of him, not to give up on Elsa regardless of Agnarr's behaviour, and that she wants Hans to think of her as his mother in law. I'm cheering on Iduna more than ever, and it was also so beautiful to see Hans getting teary happy at her words cos he's never had a mother's love before- as well as him vowing to 'remain true to Elsa no matter how long it takes'. Iduna is also planning to do something about that awful separation? yaaay! *happy smiles*
I though the toast scene was great! Anna trying to encourage Elsa, Edmund's comical toast to Eugenia and Rune "may you have many children with just as rosy complexions and lust for gaudy jewelry" that made Arianna wanna facepalm was hilarious, and the Czar forcing Agnarr into toasting Hans & Elsa was awesome too! Frederich's line was brilliant " come man, don't be shy. I know how hard it is to part with our precious daughters, but you must give us a proper send-off for your lovely Elsa..your future son in law already has his title back, so you're all the better" *is laughing* is he having a tactless competition with Edmund? XD At least Agnarr did make the toast to Elsa & Hans though, he didn't throw a hissy fit or refuse,Hans saluted him and it made Elsa a bit happier with Papa, so there's hope yet. Crix is one of the stars too with his toast to love and family, acknowledging that "these special young people and their great absolving love for one another, have made me realize what makes a man so much richer in this life" "King Christian , like his son, was wise enough to own that he owed the open path to the salvation of his frozen cold soul to Queen Elsa as well" . Hans being certain that no amount of time could part him and his "snowflake" made me teary happy, as did their exchanged blushes and glances "full of the hope and longing for their proposed love to come to fruition" :) I absolutely loved how you wrote the award ceremony after and how Hans was rewarded by his dad with the surprise castle and estates for him and Elsa, and how emotional it made Hans. LOVE!
And the last scene- my fave obviously! it was a fun start with Hans getting surprised by Elsa following then flirting with him- "admiring the scenic view" of her man ;) then the mood changed to a little sad and more serious as they talk of not wanting to part, especially Elsa not knowing what to do about her Papa, but knowing that she can't live without Hans anymore. He is "the one" and she doesn't want to let him go (me :good for you Elsa! keep hold of him!). I liked the little kisses and then the beautiful romantic scene where Hans tells the forget me not story and gives Elsa the bunch of flowers that really mean faithful fidelity in secret lovers moving, so touching! and their words to each other about love, how they hold each other *dreamy sigh* "I've had dreams of you and I like this, awash in the sunset of the first glow of evening, lost in one another's nothing can ever take this beautiful moment away from us..in all my dreams I've loved you so, that by now I think I already know what it'll be like to be loved by you".Elsa:"my prince I've dreamt those same dreams as well",Hans: "nothing will change my love for you, my beautiful .No matter how long it takes..please don't forget me, and I know my darling I could never and will never forget you" I was crying at this (again! hey no laughing!). Then you made me laugh again at where Elsa was looking at her gorgeous man and he made the joke about his "southern Isles" XD well he does wear those tight white trousers so he couldn't exactly hide the fact that his assets were "unashamed to be on full display of his own prominent frontage" *giggles* I'd be admiring the view too if I were Elsa. I reckon Hans might need to wear longer jackets if he doesn't want the rest of the world to see him in romantic moods though eh?! ;) it does make Elsa blush and cheer her up though and TBH I love seeing these two having a happier time together :) I adore their romantic waltz in the moonbeam filled rose garden to "I have dreamed" the words are gorgeous and i loved listening to the song and imagining this scene with Helsa singing it as a duet. This is such a perfect setting you chose! and their words to each other -awww! Hans " please..may I hear your voice say how you care..because I've fantasized every word..so many times, but I want to hear your own sweet voice truly ring in my ears..I know I will love being loved by you my darling Elsa", Elsa:" Hans..I can only live now knowing what it's like being loved by you. I love you my darling one" Then they kiss & hold each other!Awww LOVEloveLOVE! more of this please! I could have quoted waaay more, but you don't need me to do that to know how happy the last scene made me. So beautifully romantic,so beautifully written! I really hope for a lot more scenes like this in book 3, maybe before you end book 2? ok well I can dream, right? :D I hope all the other characters plotting to help Hans & Elsa be together forever at last can melt the Ice king's frozen heart towards them - Anna and Iduna could be a formidable team. *Pulls faces at Agnarr sending Marshmallow to break up the lovely moment* Can Hans win him over too? looking forward to reading what you've got planned next - c'mon make me cry more happy tears of joy! This chapter was wonderful.
emilyhb49gmail.com chapter 32 . 7/8
LOVED THIS CHAPTER SO MUCH ,IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL
Samantha Clement chapter 31 . 7/6
I'm just gonna let go with my initial feelings before I make a proper review so please excuse me a sec ok?.. (this does not reflect on your writing, just my emotions, so please bear that in mind my friend ;) ) Me: WAIT! 2 years before they can be married? no seeing each other and no correspondence even? NoOOOOOOOOOOOO *sobs into my tissues* Please don't separate them! they've gone through so much already, Hans has proved his true repentance over and over as well as his true love and faithfulness to Elsa, and she's proved her true love for him in return. They've faced so much loneliness for most of their lives, and I've loved their exciting journey to true love- I sooo badly want to see them having adventures together as a couple with more happiness and romance to erase the years of sadness. I literally feel the pain at the thought of them being forced apart again. I knew protective papa wouldn't take the news of the betrothal so well, and I enjoy drama, but I don't think my heart can take the sadness of separation. I cried my eyes out at the last section of this chapter. Agnarr himself didn't follow the guidelines for Royals at the time when he chose and wed Iduna. Can't someone do something to stop this? Iduna? Anna? Elsa herself? Nokk even? the Northuldra and the spirits even approve of Helsa - someone do something! *is begging my fave author not to break my heart cos this story is my happy place in a sad crazy world*.
BTW Just cos I'm crying I'm not saying the writing was bad though my friend. Your writing is fantastic and you really captured all of the emotions in this chapter. When I read something I want to be able to feel something- that's what shows it's well written to me - and I felt every single thing, so for that you get a massive thumbs up. I also understand Agnarr's reasoning and feeling protective over his daughter too, especially having been parted from his girls for so long, and the issues Elsa had when he last saw her as a teen, as well as Anna's telling him about Hans past- but he's seen how much Elsa has grown since then, how much Hans changed himself (he was even willing to let Agnarr execute him for his past crimes in book 1 to show he's truly sorry)and changed her life and he can reach her when no-one else could. So I still feel like Agnarr's being extreme and unkind to the couple with this forced separation, even if he thinks he's doing it for the best. I expected him to make them wait for the actual wedding, but I never expected this. I feel like I wanna step into the story and lock that Ice king up in Atohallan so he can see what's happened in all those ice memories until he changes his mind if he doesn't loosen up and see how he's hurting his daughter and her Prince :( He's a good guy, a loving dad and real hero himself, so I want him to step up to be that again here for Elsa and Hans, despite his own feelings of wanting to keep his family to himself. In reality he hasn't thought about it but things would never be the same as before- just the 4 royals in Arendelle having family time together - not with his oldest daughter broken hearted, and his younger daughter already married, not to mention all the other things that have happened since he's rejoined the land of the living. I think what made this chapter extra sad for me was how over the moon happy I was with Helsa's finally getting to have their love confession/actual betrothal and how beautiful it was. I've wanted that for years, I absolutely love seeing them together, and I've been through too much personal RL sorrow - that's what's making me react so strongly. I hope I don't disappoint or sadden you by my saying that. I loved your writing as I said, and there were lots of parts of the chapter I really enjoyed, and that made me very happy. I know you like to throw in emotional roller-coasters and cliffhangers, and that makes your writing exciting and the story unpredictable - which is great! I do love that - I just..hope you have something planned so Helsa aren't separated, whatever happens next *is narrowing my tear-stained puffy eyes at Agnarr right now* Don't believe all Brits are the stiff-upper-lip type. I wear my heart on my sleeve (as you prolly knew from my previous reviews, right? ;) ) , so*tries to gather emotions back in* I'll try and write a proper review for you now.
Before I get into the more fun side, I see Edmund is starting to think about his own lonely existence now his Kingdom is free from the Moonstone and Rugen and the rest of Zhantiri's allies are gone. He's in need of a new adventure of his own (and better company than Hamuel!). After enjoying himself so much at Crix's party with his extended family, I felt sorry for him when he thinks about having to go back to the Dark kingdom. It's obviously gone right over Eugene's head, so this line interested me:" the sentiment was a plaintive one to a certain other monarch's listening in ears" ooh which one? is someone going to offer Edmund a new home or some other suggestion so he won't be lonely anymore? I'd like to think of him having a happy life now too, so I'm looking forward to seeing what you've got planned for him.
I like how welcoming the whole place is now, the descriptions of the food on offer, the guests being pleasantly surprised and the children from the town joining in where they'd never have been allowed before. The Snowgies causing havoc at the party (they still haven't learned it's a party no-no since FF have they? :P ) made me laugh:D Olaf, Lukas and Marshmallow are the ones trying to keep 'em under control? no wonder things are in chaos! XD I like King Christian's reaction- that while almost everyone else is getting exasperated at the snowgies' mischief, he's "looking more amused than perplexed at this raucous snowgie sight" Agnarr is thankfully polite dealing with Crix, but you can already see he's in a "don't mess with me" kinda mood as he literally freezes the Snowgies in place. He usually likes the naughty trouble makers, so it should have been a warning to this still-happy-on-a-helsa-love-high reader, that he was about to blow his top. The scene continued to be funny (Hans reaction aside. Now I'm re-reading he also senses he's in for a rough ride with Papa - eek! :O ) and I loved how you wrote Crix easing the tension here with a chuckle:" Impressive Agnarr..I was afraid for a moment..Elsie dear, that your quaint little snowman army had declared war on my poor B'day ..buffet" And the next part had me in fits of giggles as Elsa notices the Snowgies parading around in her "dainty lace undergarments" Oh goodness XD ! seeing her chase them & a headless Olaf was really funny. Hans and his dad's father/son moment just then was great too- especially when Crix approves of Hans bride, asks his son if he also shares his preference for her more slinky ice queen outfit than the oh-so-proper violet one: "taking his parent's cue to look the racing around Elsa up and down, Prince Hans shares the wolfish smile" Yep he's got good taste! King Crix is one of the stars of this chapter for me. I love his new real fatherly role and his open approval of/happiness with Hans and Elsa's betrothal. I thought it was both funny and romantic that Hans was doing his best to be a gentleman while not being able to wipe the smile off his face at his first sight of his fiancee's undergarments " a la the frozen solid snowgie totem pole that had been the dress up model for Hans' playful.. nieces", then Elsa stuffs the undies in her jacket hahaha that bit was so comical! :D I was giggling - which I carried on doing when Anna got Hans and Eugene to help round up the Snowgies with a quick slap! her shoving the snowgies in her own hitched up skirt flashing her bloomers unashamedly was already funny (that's our Anna!) but it made the scene even more hilarious that stuffy Papa was there to see, plus the reactions of some of the others was awesome too : Crix:" I do like your daughters Agnarr, they have such spirit rarely seen in snobbish royal princesses these days" Czar Nicholas:" Bozhe moi" it is like a revolution out here"; Fred" yes my nieces can be a refreshing pair"; Iduna:"why thank you..Elsa and Anna have always been my own and my husbands' pride and joy, right my love?" ; Agnarr * has dropped jaw as he sees their escapades* ; Me; *is laughing loud* That was an awesome scene! I also liked how you included Iduna sensing Agnarr's mood and reminding him of his younger self romantically rescuing her from a cliff edge (loved your reference to the flashback chapter where we saw this) and sweeping her off her feet , cos he's eyeing Hans and Elsa "more like a pig-headed ostrich than the noble king he arguably was" EXACTLY! sort him out Iduna! he's failed to realize that if Hans hadn't been in his daughters life he would never have seen her again. Now he has the chance to not only have her back home but has the prospect of a happy family with Hans there too. She would have stayed in isolation otherwise. She very nearly did again in Atohallen. Wake up Agnarr!

Edmund's trip down memory lane with Eugene in the maze was sweet and heartwarming. He finally told Eugene (ahem..Horace!) about his mom, even getting sentimental and romantic about her -aww! he still loves her so much- and it opened his son's eyes to another side to his kooky dad. That was great! Especially when Edmund related his love for his "Guste" to Eugene's love for Rapunzel. He saw his dad was "expressive and romantic" and "it couldn't have been a better father/son bonding excursion where each felt more enlightened by this invaluable afternoon spent together" *is cheering* :) Punzy finally being led to them by derpy Hamuel (who turned out not to have stuffed his face with the treats afterall! he was smart enough to use them to bring her), then calling Edmund "dad" too was the perfect ending :) "There are always two sides to every story ,eh Horace?" *nods in agreement* I'm so glad you wrote this scene!

Hans trying to talk to an already moody Agnarr on an empty stomach was soo not a good idea, so that was a nice save by wise Iduna (the other star of this chapter) - getting her man to eat first! "A man is always in a more receptive mood on a full..stomach" True! I speak from experience :P I love how you write Iduna's supportive role throughout the chapter. She balances her hubby out, welcomes Hans and Elsa's love/betrothal/marriage but still shows consideration for Agnarr, doing her best to make it all easier for him to accept cos she loves him too

Punzy's Snuggly Duckling/carnival style additions to the party were great is another scene that made me feel happy. The King was truly enjoying himself and the new company instead of freaking out at what he'd previously have though of as the riff-raff running amok through his castle grounds; the princesses enjoying it with Punzy was heartwarming, and it was fantastic to see Eugene getting along with his other "Storbror's" - especially Didrik - "smoldering" and getting tipsy together - did Mattias really think Eugene would mind getting his drink spiked? *laughs* Cass:"Ok Fitzherbert you've had one too many..time for another dunking! boys!" *chuckles* she couldn't that opportunity to dump him back in the moat eh? :D Eugene: "Whoa-no! not happening! Job old buddy say something to them" . Job *deadpans* "Run" then he shares a smug grin with Mattias -this is awesome comedy! *fits of laughter* I really liked how you wrote the harmony between Crix & his family eg- when Punzy introduces Hermine to him properly & he apologies, then Berte joins his wife, the twins wedding is being back on (I love the double wedding idea) and he gives credit to Maria for seeing "something few others saw" in his non-too-attractive-looking son Ruddi. He's seeing the good in all of them and I loved how you continued that and added to it in this chapty. This was one of my fave bits( bet you're not surprised!) "Now King Christian longed to spend time with that other shy blonde who was bold and daring, yet generous and genuine enough to have changed the Southern Isles King's entire perspective on life from henceforth.. it all for..the true love of his shunned last amazing miraculous love the Christian wished to see prosper and flourish for many years to come..perhaps blessedly produce a special child that would join their nations together forever by family bloodline too" YAY to infinity on that! I love the way it was written, how the king feels about their love, and I absolutely adore the idea of Helsa having kids together YES PLEASE! I want to read all about them too *is hopeful* seeing them have a family together would make me over-the-moon with pure joy!
Talking of happy, Anna & friends giving the King's grandkids rides on the flying animals and singing together was another detail I liked- as was Fred enjoying stuffing his face and laughing at getting away with it (or as you put it "gorging himself" which is something I say so I laughed all the more!) , cos Ari was too busy to keep an eye on his diet :D Yeah! loving life again! that's what I like to see!
Another of my fave scenes was where Hans dressed up as a waiter and he was making/serving Ice cream to the kids with Elsa, right under Agnarrs nose *grins* Elsa recognized him cos "his laughing eyes betrayed him, along with those stylish sideburns Elsa found so very alluring" peeking out from his askew cap! "As he shushes her with a silencing finger to his playful lips for fear the brooding King..would see" Elsa concludes "that she could not love her clever Prince Hans Westergaard more" LoveLOVElove! I can picture this cheeky happy scene so clearly *loads of heart emojis* it got even more romantic when Hans holding food for Elsa to eat and she kissed his hand instead when she saw he was slipping into one of his old "I'm-not-good-enough" moods due to her dad. This time how you wrote his reaction turn-around made me do happy dances "No I am good enough because she believes in me""so instead of sinking into..uncertain doldrums a confident in her love Prince Hans felt emboldened to share a confidence-building chuckle" with her- Elsa's flirting & kissing "gave him all the courage he needed to face her difficult father and then some". Thank goodness! I'm soo glad to see Hans character development here, that he's no longer giving in to self doubt. He knows Elsa loves him as much as he loves her so he's not giving up anymore. YAY! Also yay at Crix saying to Aganrr" they make a handsome couple out children, our children don't they?" linking "Elsa's hand to rest over Hans'" showing off the engagement ring proudly. When he did that that I got both an "OH YEAH! moment and a sinking feeling of "Oh no". As I said before, Agnarr's reaction made me cry. I did however really love reading both Elsa and Hans determination to be together and all of their heartfelt confessions of love for/to each other. That part was beautifully written. And this part made me smile through my tears: Elsa "I'm not going to run and hide from my feelings or conceal them any longer! I've already learned so much about myself to turn back now! This is my one chance for happiness with the man I love..I will regret NOT seizing my destiny to be with my Hans, cherishing his love for the rest of my life, Papa! Prince Hans has shown his love for me in so many ways. He risked his life to save myself and Anna and the citizens of Arendelle time after time. He always encourages me to be the best I can be with my powers, building my confidence and teaching me to go beyond myself. He understands me like no-one else ever has, and I hear his warm voice inside my very soul. Hans is my warmth..my strength..my conscience. He is my everything. Papa please I love him. There is nothing to reconsider" GO GIRL! THIS SOOO MUCH! And Iduna telling Agnarr like it is and quoting the sermon/Bible on forgiveness was awesome as well. it made it feel not so hopeless. He married her at a much younger age than Elsa and Hans too as Iduna points out when he still thinks of Elsa as a girl instead of a woman with stronger powers than him. I think including Agnarrs motives/feelings of missing his family/ longing for their love/not having secrets anymore and wanting to be open now about sharing his ice gift with Elsa/feeling fatherly loving protectiveness was a good thing to show his side - that his motives were good though his decision about the 2 year separation was bad. His decision prompted by Iduna then Crix to allow Hans and Elsa to marry was good too. Hans being willing to accept any conditions to prove his love for Elsa and his sincerity to her Papa was also wonderfully written. And I loved their romantic heartfelt words to each other. So I guess it was all bittersweet. I'm still not going back on my wanting someone to do something about that separation though! Someone save my fave couple from 2 years of loneliness please- and save me money on tissues cos I'll be crying my eyes up all the while they're apart! *collapses back into tissues to wait for next installment*
emilyhb49gmail.com chapter 31 . 7/4
Love this last chapter however I think Agnarr was way too harsh - Hans literally risked his life time and time again for Elsa. But I can see why he’s being overprotective
Phantine09 chapter 31 . 7/4
These chapters are better than the original chapters
Samantha Clement chapter 30 . 7/2
I haven't stopped smiling since last chapter, so to have this one continue with Helsa's romance in their special place in the water garden- with nothing to hold them back anymore- was the perfect start to what has become another of my fave chapters! you keep surprising me with more awesome - I can't explain just how gloriously happy this story makes me. Hans with his Cheshire cat grin? I have one to match! I think it's fixed permanently on my face now :D BTW sorry sweetie, Kristly in his tight yellow guard uniform is hunky(plus I checked out your sisters art so I know! and I'm impressed!) but I'm still drooling over my "Velvet fox" Hans even more ;) *grins and razzles* :P
I could listen to Santino Fontana sing all day *swoon* so your song choice for Hans to be serenading Elsa with-oh yeah! LoveloveLove! so romantic! combine that with him doing her hair at the same time as their ecstatic kisses/cuddles and I feel like I'm gonna explode with happiness! (bet you're extra glad I can't post heart emojis on this review cos the page would be covered in them). Honestly I feel that your story of Hans redemption and finding true love with Elsa is the canon story to me (best compliment I can give!). I enjoy every second of them being together, i love seeing them interact throughout the adventure leading to their confessions of true love and their real engagement, and now seeing them as a real couple so truly, deeply in love with each other makes me happier than I can explain. They have a wonderful chemistry together and how you write them as a couple, bringing out the best in each other with love, encouragement and support makes me want to dance with joy- it's soo perfect! Elsa is not the only one experiencing "sheer joy" in her and Hans "breathless kisses- plentiful and thrilling" More please! I can't get enough of this couple together *dreamy starry-eyed sigh of contentment*
That wasn't the only beautiful thing about the chapter though :) As you mentioned, church was a vital part of life in the 19th century, and the "spiritual closure" with your well-chosen beautifully worded Hymns and Bible passages were just right! Not only that, they were truly heart-warming! I remember early on in the story that Hans had often compared his life to that of Joseph: hated by his brothers and sent away in exile, and the story parallel continues in this chapter. The once thought to be unrepentant wicked brothers have all changed, willing to accept their younger brother for the first time in his life, and as Joseph suffered hardships in a different country, only to find his place and future wife there eventually, then later the situation led to his meeting up with and making amends with all of his brothers, this is what has happened to Hans too. He's found his true love and he's united with his family at last- seeing as Joseph also did, how sometimes things "happen for a reason" and turn out to be a blessing and salvation for everyone in the end. I think it's an absolutely brilliant comparison my friend! Massive well done for that! *thumbs up*. i think using the parable of the lost sheep was wonderful and appropriate too! oh and the king wanting to read a Bible passage then relating it/applying it to each of his sons was another beautiful moment- I had happy tears!
What else did I enjoy? the Helsa romance *squee* wait! I already said that already XD but I'm still on a Helsa high right now :D I loved the comic moments you added every now and then so it wasn't all serious stuff - like Helsa and Kristanna sitting together in the church in a row behind their parents getting into trouble, Eugene understanding the real meaning of the sheep scripture at last (that Hans and Elsa has been teasing him with in book 1), while his dad got totally confused this time *laughs* I enjoyed Yelena and Bruni meeting Hans, Frederika and Iduna's proper meeting and it's unforeseen result *claps delighted hands* ..did I mention I loved the Helsa romance scenes?...*bats eyelashes & tries to look innocent* ;) oh ok, I'll review proper again now *grins*

I do get to start by commenting on the Helsa romance scene though-YAY! *dreamy sigh at their kisses, how they hold each other, and the true love song Hans sings to Elsa* If I remember correctly he sang part of that while he was thinking of Elsa when they first reunited on the pirate ship in book 1, though he was only singing to himself then- now he gets to sing it to her properly. That made me smile so much I loved it! and in another nod to their early encounters where Elsa accidentally got to see -and admire-more than she expected of Hans finer points after he took a bath and she walked in on him, this time Hans got a sneak peak at his fiancee Elsa. Try as he might he couldn't help" his captivated eyes from surveying Elsa's enchanted tempting form in all it's revealing stages of mid transformation" (me: Yes! *grins and fans self*). "Endearing" is absolutely the right word for the way Hans now soothes his flustered love into believing in herself to be able to transform back into a more suitable outfit for church ( let's face it, her Papa would explode if he saw her with Hans in what he thinks of as her underwear, never mind going into church dressed like it *giggles*) What a shame the bells interrupted them just as they were enjoying some alone time at last..well.. unless you count "chaperone" Pascal :D hope they get to continue later). Throughout the story you've shown more and more how both Hans and Elsa bring out the best in each other, can get through to each other and strengthen each other no matter what they're faced with if they're together. I love this mutually supportive relationship for them sooo so much! *loads of heart emojis* In last chapter Elsa was the brave one showing her love helping Hans finally let go of his guilt and the past; in this chapter Hans is the one soothing Elsa and showing his belief in her as well as his love. Because of that, and with a well-timed appropriate scripture, she finds she really can transform back. I enjoyed reading how Hans showed his pride and confidence in the woman he loves by his account of the things she's already accomplished. She feels safe and warm with him, her fears melting away quicker than her ice dress, and I could literally feel her gleeful happiness through your writing in this touching moment. Plus.. ahem..I thought Hans styling Elsa's hair (since he was the one to mess it up in the first place with all his "delicious fondling" ) was wildly romantic! I was totally squeeing when he finished his song and he hair, then started to kiss her neck all the way up to her blushing cheeks *romantic smiles* it was so sweet I didn't want their romantic moment to end - but yes I still enjoyed the next bit :) *pulls mind off romance again*
So Yelena has good taste in men too eh? *grins* and Bruni- cheeky thing interrupting Helsa's romance! I was laughing at him getting swatted into the water by a protective Hans, who then stood in front of Elsa to guard her but she wasn't scared- she was smiling at the "curious little intruder that starts smoking in the water it was trudging out from" hahahaha I'm lovin' that mental picture! so funny! good thing Bruni approved of Hans or things could have gotten very hot (and not in a good way for the young lovers either *giggles*). Hans respect for Yelena was a nice touch- he's way more tactful than cousin Eugene was when she interrupted Eupunzel's romantic time last chapter, no? ;) This was brilliant:Yelena to Elsa:"I hope he didn't scare off your young man?" Hans" not at all dear lady, you'll find that I don't frighten so easily" regaining "his sauciness as he could sense a kindred spirit in the elder Saami leader" (me:ooh this is awesome!) Yelena:"witty and good looking? I like him already". Elsa being proud to show off Hans as her fiance to Yelena, and him being honored to meet the Northuldran leader was something else I really liked. The idea of Hans wanting to meet and make friends with the other elementals was great -it would be fun to see him interacting with them all some more. Hans liking Yelena's suggestion to Elsa to "come see us again" and bring her "velvet fox" Hans to the enchanted forest after the wedding cos " there are places you now know well that others do not yet you may want to show him" - with Gale sweeping Elsa back into Hans arms as well as approving of him- yesYESyes! I actually LOVE the idea of Elsa taking Hans there for some private time together (plus it fits with F2 & the idea of old enemies making amends and becoming united by love). I thoroughly enjoyed how sweetly you wrote Hans kissing Elsa's hands reverently, and the finger with his ring on "meaningfully" as he has " a look of unadulterated admiration in his infatuated eyes" while she "the once loner who thought herself destined to be another virgin queen, revels in this exciting new realm of having a lover to spoil and pamper her" Aww she's so excited to be marrying Hans and she's blushing at her imagination running wild when it comes to married life with him *swoony sigh of joy* The ride back with the couple holding each other close on Sitron was gorgeously written as well. You write such great romance scenes!
...And then you go and throw a bucket of icy water over us readers by having jealous Papa waiting for them at the church entrance- in no mood to discuss their wedding *facepalm* No! I bet you were laughing as you imagined the reader reaction when you wrote that weren't you? :P YAY for Iduna & her man-management skills coming to the rescue! " As if queen Iduna was going to let her pompous man ruin this tender moment for Elsa" *sigh of relief* I was chuckling at her latest escapades, wrapping Agnarr around her little finger while winking over his shoulder at Elsa and Hans -YES! she's so great! I really liked how you wrote the blend of wisdom, romance and humor in her character, how happy she is for the young lovers and how in love she is with her own hubby regardless of his moods. Another surprise was her and Frederika realizing that they aren't rivals, they understand each other right off, Iduna "reveling in a conspiring chuckle shared with her ex-beau's wife, instantly recognized as a comrade" and the two women finding "instant camaraderie" causes both Agnarr and Anders to"share and uneasy glance with one another" that for once wasn't full of rivalry. *Laughs* that was fantastic!
I was mentally telling Agnarr off for making his daughters switch places so neither was sitting next to their chosen man *shakes first at Agnarr*, but you saved the scene with some giggles as Helsa and Kristanna have some comical moments. Anna letting Hans know she's watching him so he'd better not mess up or he'll get his butt kicked;Elsa and Hans holding hands behind Anna's back so Papa can't see; Kristly getting a smacked elbow as Anna compares rings with Elsa causing him to drop his hymn book and gain a glare from Papa; Anna sticking out her tongue at Hans and causing Kristoff to hide his laughing with a coughing fit, then while she's laughing at Hans blushes Elsa sends a "cool blast of arctic wind" to her sisters seat causing Anna to squeal "cold cold cold" like in F1 and Kristly to hold a hand over her mouth. I'm laughing even more- oh goodness they're acting like a bunch of naughty kids instead of royals behind Agnarrs back in the middle of the service and it's absolutely hilarious! *highfive with more gleeful clapping*
The pub thugs piling into church as part of the group representing Corona, causing Arianna to facepalm in despair was funny too! Hookhand standing by the door to whack anyone who forgot to take his hat off made me chuckle, as did them vying for the window seat making "rather unpleasant noises" and Cass trying to stop her dad nodding off XD You used this not just as something to laugh about though, but to emphasize King Christian's change for the good even more- he welcomes them because like God he also is impartial now welcoming everyone as equals regardless class, color, background etc, "all of God's children are free to worship beside us" which is a beautiful message to put in your story and it really fits in well with the theme as well. Good to know Agnarr is also not prejudiced (well other than when it comes to anyone wanting to marry his daughters!), plus Mattias &Eugene are both willing to stick up for the rowdy pub guys who have good hearts underneath. King Christian's wife and his sister would have welcomed them with impartiality as well and they'd be so proud to see how much he's turned over a new leaf - aww! I was giggling at Edmund singing "off-key, off-note, off-verse" but again his heart was in the right place and I love how you used the comic moment for Christian to be moved to join in himself though his own voice was more suited to "singing in the bath" :D Loved this line: " I have been shown by this younger generation that a heart needs no class nor society, nor position to be just as worthy of love" WELL SAID! This hymn verse was especially well timed , fitting so perfectly "there is a scene where spirits blend, where friend holds fellowship with friend, Though sundered far, by faith they meet, around one common mercy seat" Sooo great for this scene of harmony and peace at last among the most unlikely new "friends". The sermon about the lost sheep from the Gospel of Luke was another good touch: "Jesus celebrated over that little lost lamb more than the other 99 sheep who did not stray, not because he loved them any less, but because the lost sheep with the broken heart needed his compassion most" Very beautiful! so fitting for the Westergaard family and more so when it comes to Hans. I was crying when he and his dad looked at each other with tears in their eyes, then "sensing this wonderful happenstance for her man, emotional tears also fill Elsa's eyes with joy" Hans holds her hand and she "squeezes Hans..hand oh-so-gently as she oversees with pride how her Hans was receiving not only his ..patriarch's heartfelt pardon, but many slowly welcoming nods from his numerous brothers..willing to join in" *happy emotional smiles* United in fellowship as a family at last- all due to Hans & Elsa's love and God's forgiveness as well as each others. Fantastic! *wipes eyes*

"You can dress some men up but you can't take them out" *giggles* So right, as proved by non-too-quiet Eugene finally getting Helsa's sheep jokes true scriptural meaning while loudly talking about it in the middle of the service, then his equally tactless dad joining in and taking it literally this time *laughs* Well Horace..er Eugene, it looks like you might end up a sheep farmer yet! XD It was cute how Punzy reacted to him though, and it was awesome that Christian(who would have been soo offended before) shares a chuckle with Hans and good-naturedly joins in- not taking any notice of the noisy disturbance, all resentment gone.
King Christian reading from Matthew , applying verses and blessing each of his sons with approval was absolutely lovely. I adore the harmony & unity in this scene as well as seeing more of the King's change for the better. I could quote/comment on it all if I had enough space but I couldn't do it better than you did. I felt so warm and fuzzy at this contented scene. Hans when his dad asks if he's forgiven:" it is in forgiving that we are forgiven father. I truly believe it is better late than never for second chances" - that was perfect! the King's advice to Hans on how to treasure Elsa, fight for her, live for her with every breath in him, love her forever and don't ever let her go was soo moving! As the king asked Hans to promise him that, he does, with a smile that told his father" he intended to love his Elsa with every bit of that advice and then some" *squee!* you wrote that so beautifully! LOVE it! that the king himself loves Elsa and is so happy that Hans and Elsa love each other -regardless of station in life (even if she had really only been a maid) makes the scene even better.
Hans fave biblical hero Joseph's story takes on greater meaning for him at the end when he thinks of his brothers and how things have turned out " as for you, you thought evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save many people alive" What a perfect quote from Genesis that sums up Hans (and Elsa's) journey to this point in time when such a profound change for the good has happened after such a sad start. I love this comparison! I love how the King thanks Elsa, and how you wrote this too: " face to face again Hans and Elsa felt that life of forever, exquisitely intertwined in one anothers eyes and hands and hearts full of the sentiment of love for one thoughtful couple meant to never let go of this precious bond again" Elsa blissfully looked at Hans ring on her finger then the closing hymn "blest be the ties that bind" plays and it "hails the Arendelle and Corona royal families out to join the Egeskov clan they would evermore be entangled with because of what that beautiful snowflake circlet (Elsa's engagement ring from Hans) represented" AWw YES! This gets a massive big thumbs up from me! It was wonderful, romantic, and had an amazing feel-good factor throughout. Repentance, forgiveness, unity and love- that's a message we all need to hear about, especially now, and it's a satisfying beautiful ending to this story as well as paving the way for new adventures for our fave couples. Agnarr still needs to be won over, but at least Helsa are together now whatever happens next, which of course I'm longing to find out - I cant get enough of these couples or of your story!
Samantha Clement chapter 29 . 6/30
*Glass-shattering SQUEEE of pure JOY* LOVEloveLOVEloveLOVE! *Trillians of gazillions of bazillions of heart emojis to infinity* This has to be my FAVE CHAPTER! oh goodness! best chapter EVER! How am I even gonna review this to do it justice? I thought the courtroom proposal chapter was my Helsa dream come true, but this is even better! like..wow I'm crying so hard I've made my notepaper all crinkled up, then I'm re-reading and doing it all over again! *is making such a mess* I think I've re-read 5 or 6 times and I still can't get enough! It's sooo beautiful and romantic! I'm so teary-happy*loads of over-the-moon tears* Setsuna was right- it's perfect! to say I LOVE it is a massive understatement! you just wrote the most beautiful emotional wonderful perfect true-love Helsa chapter I've always wanted, that my fave couple have always deserved *is reaching for more tissues* I said before that I can't thank you enough but how I feel about this chapter? there are no words to describe such an immense joy, give enough thanks,or show how eternally grateful I am to you my friend *wipes tear stained notes, trying to decipher my scrawling incoherent writing which got a million times harder to read cos of my swirling emotions* I'm happy dancing and squeeeing and crying and re-reading cos I wanna keep reliving every single gloriously romantic dramatic heartfelt moment. You wrote this so brilliantly and Setsuna's art (of course I checked it out!) is soo gorgeous as well, you both really captured the emotion and love, it's wonderful! I want to shout about it to every Helsa fan in the world- this is the redemption love story we've all been waiting for & dreaming of for years, and it honestly couldn't be any better than how you did it in this chapter IMO! *sends massive hugs to you * The confessions, the heartfelt repentance, true love and forgiveness, the way you wrote Hans and Elsa clearing up the past, being completely open and honest with each other about literally everything, then bringing it all together so they can have a happily-ever-after with no more secrets, sorrow, guilt, feelings of unworthiness or doubt was so well done, so fantastic! Your writing in this chapter truly touched my heart even more than before! *delighted romantic sigh of contentment* I'm really glad that you made your dear sister's dream come true with this, and I want you to know you made mine come true too * more hugs* .. just incase I haven't quite got that over in my ramblings! I'd better start reviewing properly now or I'll be babbling on about how ecstatically happy I am til I run out of space! This chapter will be in "my heart til the end of time" :)

*forces mind off Helsa romance section*to start at the start! I loved how pleasantly surprised everyone is not only to see the King well again, but attending the service and being friendly to them all. It's a lovely harmonious scene, with a bit of fun included as the elementals round up the snowgies.. until Agnarr remembers his wife and Elsa are still MIA, then Anna puts her foot in it with stuffy papa about make-up. oopsy! Good thing he was so preoccupied he did't see/hear her salivating over hunky Kristly in his not-quite-big-enough uniform! Mmm yep I can imagine he does look pretty tasty! all the other ladies certainly think so! Agnarr is already in over-protective Papa mode though! Nice save from Mattias reminding him again(cos he needs it!) that Kristly is the actual Snow Queen's son. *gulp that he would consider forcing an annulment on Kristanna's marriage otherwise* Wow! no wonder Iduna didn't want him left alone. This sums him up so well: he was still vital enough to be a man of action rather than wisdom when..left to his own devices" *nods in agreement* Mattias:" might as well try to stop a gust of wind from blowing from the north". That line was great! watch out Kristly and Hans! :O actually both Agnarr's daughters share that determined/action side too, especially Anna, though in this chapter Elsa is embracing her determined side more than usual *happy smile* :) Whoa! Anders let his old personality slip back in for a while when he tried to stir up trouble for Agnarr: bringing up their past rivalry over Iduna but also being pretty darn low mentioning Elsa pretending to be their maid to be with Hans *pulls faces at Anders* I did love your timing with Kristanna launching into "Amazing Grace", then Iduna & Ari arriving- with all of them using their magical healing song to calm the about-to-explode-in -anger icing-up King.*Sigh of relief* that it worked so he let go of the anger, feeling love for his family instead. I hope he's ready to go easy on Elsa too :o
*Laughs at razzling Bruni on Yelena's shoulder in scene 2* Eugene's recovering from his impromptu cold bath to cheekily say to her "why don't you stick around for the peep show old bag" XD Good thing she didn't cos Eupunzel were in the mood for some passionate time behind that tree, no? well. until Gloria Lujza showed up! what an eyeful she got this time *grins* she's spoiled for choice when it comes to hot men to drool over- I was laughing that Daphne had to pull her away :D Wait Job even brought Lamby back from Corona? poor Eugene not being able to get his smooch afterall- unless you count Lambykins licking his leg - eww! *giggles* Perhaps Job didn't appreciate the plan to make Lamby into pie eh? well he did help save Punzy. But now she's ditched the passion and is dragging her hubby off to church first instead, so a resigned-to-his-fate-for-now Eugene might not be ruling the pie out just yet hey? :P Again you got his character just right:"what the hell, I've got full run of this joint according to good ole Oncle..looks like a nice luxury castle.. we can use for a second honeymoon spot after the party.. that's when the real celebration begins Liebling.. No sheep counting in our bedroom tonight" :D Since Punzy is admiring the 'view' with him all dressed up in style, I doubt she'll object to his plans for later ;) I liked this bit too " I wonder how my Lillbror is doing with his leggy conquest "Hey Sideburns! aint the church in the other direction?" then he wonders if Hans is heading in Elsa's direction instead. I was hoping so! and I'm so glad he was right *squee!*

I admit I cried my eyes out at the first part of Hans and Elsa's meeting, when he was trying to get out of their engagement, still not feeling worthy of her "and crazy enough to try to make her let him go" NOOOO! He's convinced himself she only saved him out of kindness? no! thank goodness Elsa took the good advice from her mama to heart in last chapter and she is determined to show Hans she really loves him. I gotta say I absolutely adored the setting you chose for this scene. The water garden is stunning (I looked it up) and your descriptions make it sound so romantic! Also the backstory- that this was a place Hans brothers were scared of (not sure if you invented the story of the ghost wailing for her lost love, but it fit!), they tried to scare him, but instead he found peace in the romantic setting and he wasn't scared of any supposed ghost cos he could empathize with crying and waiting for his own love. It became a place he loved and felt safe even used the special place his brothers would never track him to, to learn skills/practice to make himself good enough for Elsa one day, to give him a chance with her- Oh I love it! such good foreshadowing! I also loved the idea of Elsa thinking she heard singing leading her to this very special spot too! I'm guessing it was in your original version cos it fits with the ghost story, but it also fits in perfectly with F2 , particularly as both Hans and Elsa's moms meant them to be together*highfive* Another thing I loved? that "her Hans wasn't 'just anyone' to Elsa anymore"..and "the lilting tinkle of her crystalline laughter..made Hans wish to pull 'his' Elsa close and embrace her" Me *shouting at screen* "DO IT!". Me when he made himself pull away instead:"Noo! *cries*.I'm glad Elsa said "I don't wish you to release me..this feeling between us isn't a charade", with the other elementals approving of their love knowing ELsa has found the other half of her. Your costume changes throughout the scene as Elsa's mood changed to serene and peaceful, to passionate and determined were great. The royal purple first, then the white harmony dress, then the original blue dress when she needs to convince Hans it's time for him to "let it go" and leave the sad past behind too. It's so obvious they love each other, both admitting to it before, and that "love cant be denied" (perfect song for them). Hans is on a major guilt-trip though, and now we get to see why he's been so torn up and trying to push Elsa away since he knew he truly loved her back in book 1. I was sad at first the Hans wouldn't accept Elsa had forgiven him, or let her speak of love, but actually his full confession of all the things that had been weighing on his mind; his account of what happened before Elsa's coronation (there was truth to the story of him putting something in the food so he was the only one able to go to the coronation), to us seeing his viewpoint of events from the original Frozen movie, leading to his committing crimes against both sisters that he can't forgive himself for even now, make his true repentance and true love for Elsa even more clear to see. He made mistakes in the past but deep down inside he is not the monster he thinks he is, he's a real hero at heart, a good but lonely man that went astray when he hit the depths of despair and who regretted it ever since, though he has been repentant for years, he still feels his sins of the past make him unworthy of the love of the only woman he's ever wanted. But no-one is irredeemable. No-one is perfect. Elsa herself made mistakes and Hans saved her from making things worse. His confessions of literally everything he's ashamed of to Elsa he thinks she could never forgive him for, that he feels will make her love turn to hate, instead make her forgiveness, empathy and deeper love for him-her repentant true love hero-all the more touching and 's only right that they should have no secrets, and he's carried this burden alone long enough. I think your account (via Hans) of his side of the original story is spot on! It's how I feel it happened as well. Adding that he even forgave Rugen for what he put Hans through too, though not himself- a sign of true repentance also! It was all emotionally and fantastically written! Hans: "I cannot subject you to the burden of me..I was ..the villain of your story. Why should you now trust me enough to pledge yourself to marry me?" Elsa: "because I have forgiven you"(and more than that!). After Hans makes Elsa listen to what he did, thinking she would be appalled, her response was so lovely it made me cry: "she felt pity for his crimes as a cry from the heart rather than true wickedness" she wraps her arms around him from behind in empathy saying" my poor Hans, you must have wanted to meet me so badly to have done that. then how I shunned you when you tried to speak to me.. you were too handsome and.. I was frightened...too wrapped up in my own problems .." He said how he panicked and "when I lost my dream of a life with you..I lost myself."then he choked on his own tears when he spoke of what he almost did to the sisters, to Elsa who he genuinely loved for all his life. He tried to save he people, to be a hero, telling himself it was right, but now he says" I was weak and evil in the end...I deserve your contempt and disgust, not your compassion. I am destined to be alone and reviled. It's justice"*me sobbing* Elsa: "I've never seen a braver, more courageous man than you have proved to be Hans. No-one is destined to be alone. Anna has taught me that and at last I understand" but Hans talks of his crimes against Anna further, and hits his hands til they bleed in his anguish at what he did. Elsa "Hans, don't" then she kisses and warms his hands. I am getting choked up with tears again! He's so remorseful but he can never forgive himself- and Elsa all at once knows that this sorrow would haunt him all his life, unless she can free him from it by being courageous enough to prove that "love not only melts a frozen heart it was the only remedy to conquer all sorrow" I love how she puts the Arendelle cloak around him while he shivers and the mood is intensified by a dark cloud passing over at the same time. Elsa is not being deterred though- and knowing Hans believes in God, has begged His forgiveness, she draws on His word to get Hans to reason. All have sinned, and anyone who is repentant can be redeemed and forgiven. If God can forgive him then why not her? She tells him Anna has forgiven him too. So why can't he forgive himself? "I've seen your remorse..and how you demonstrate selfless love time and again.." you and I with our confused lonely pasts full of misfit aching.. are much the same the only difference is I has Anna.. you had we don't have to be alone anymore".. I know you and I can belong to one another if we both accept that the true magic of forgiveness is love" Brilliant reasoning! Aww this: "my darling Hans..please just let it go" He desperately wants to but still feels he cant let her throw herself away on a man like him, so she asks him if he loves her and shocks him into answering "Elsa you know I do. I more than love you I adore you" then she tells him right out that she loves him, holds his hands, nuzzles his palms *me: cries over my computer* She starts to recite the scripture about love 1 Corinthians 13- that the story is named after... and then at the end of the description she prompts Hans to finish it" love keeps no record of past wrongs"..".. old things have passed away ..all things become new "as both of them cry and he starts to understand at last. ELsa longs for him to forgive himself and now he sees he can, "freed of his bonds of guilt and self-blame" Hans pulls Elsa into his arms "unable to restrain his emotions a minute longer" and they finish together with "love never ends", the desperately in love couple free to be together at last! Elsa knowing she's exactly where she's meant to be and with whom (great tie-in to F2). Then they kiss properly knowing their love would be eternal, as Hans holds Elsa then proposes properly! so romantic! Awww! so perfect! I'm sobbing here! "Marry me Elsa, let me hear you say you'll be mine now and for eternity" "Yes Hans, I am yours. I'll be yours forever" then their words of true love after that, and the crystals and snowflakes full of love as they kiss?! wow *melts into a puddle of romantic joy* darn it I can't stop the happy tears! the ending line was gorgeous too! I could quote the whole scene I love it so much, was so impressed and moved with the writing(sorry I did quote a lot!). This is what Disney should have written, this is the story about repentance, forgiveness and love that needed to be told. I'm so glad you told it! No-one could have done better than what you just wrote!I'll be happy forever with this!* insert so many heart emojis they can't be counted* thankyou thankyou thank you!
