Guest chapter 9 . 8/21
Nice story.
Alibaba chapter 9 . 3/21
Definetly Loved It! However, now i Will be sad with how little amazing Haruno fics like this their Will be. Kinda dissapointed that their wasnt a romantic ending but it definetly Was a satisfying one. Truly Great Job!
Betrayed Dreams chapter 9 . 12/11/2016
The End.
.
.
Haruno rediscovers her bond with her family. She is no longer apprehensive of her mother, she has her father's support and she is on steady grounds with her younger sister.
.
.
Fumio is with her
.
But there is no melodrama and a forced romantic ending.
.
.
Couldn't ask for anything better.
.
.
Now that would be a lie.
.
Though these are not complaints but I would like to point out some missed opportunities.
.
For example, a conversation between 8man and Fumio. There was the perfect setting. You could have let them talk and the Yukinoshita sisters were there to make comments in between there discussion but that did not happen.
.
Would it have made any difference to the story?
I don't think so. It will be extra filler but it would have been interesting.
.
.
And that's it! I have nothing else to single out.
You stayed true to the subject matter. This was 'Conversations with Yukinoshita Haruno' and not 'Flirting with Yukinoshita Haruno'.
.
.
Did I just give you an idea for a sequel?

Don't listen to me! Just write another project and make it like this.
.
.
On second thought don't make it exactly like this. You will have a hard time getting reviews.
This project was great but it didn't get the attention it deserved and that is the truly tragic.
.
.
You know the funny part.
.
.
This project will become a reference material, if it already hasn't become, for anyone trying to write about Yukinoshita Haruno, be it in a romantic setting or the more popular "God mode" setting.
.
.
I read it twice and now I can say that I understand her better now than I did before.
.
.
Coincidentally that will help me since I'm also writing a project about her.
.
But after reading this I feel like I'm not doing justice to her. But what is done is done..
.
.
Hope you continue writing.
Waiting for your next project.
.
Hope you won't betray my dreams.
Betrayed Dreams chapter 4 . 12/10/2016
Reviewing again. Chapter three was great but this one takes the cake.
Leta count them down.
Shizuka punching Fumio. Check
Haruno playing the devils advocate. Double check.
Baker Street Boys. Kazuma particularly. Triple check.
.
.
But the one thing everyone missed. And by everyone I mean everyone..
.
.
Haruno messing up directions.
I laughed so hard! Why did no one get that?
I hope that was intentional. I mean in the anime Yukino is horrible with directions and having Haruno suffer from the same flaw was extremely funny.
.
.
A small thing like that made her appear more relatable.
.
.
She is still in character though.
You always kept her in character and for that you need a medal.
.
.
Sorry all out of medals.
But here's a big review saying I spotted one of your little hidden gem.
Directionless Haruno!
Directionless Yukino!
Both sisters are more alike then they care to admit.
So funny!
Betrayed Dreams chapter 2 . 12/10/2016
Most people forget that oregairu is mostly and primarily about the philosophy of a dead fish eyed loner. There is no romance but instead there is a lot of discussion regarding love and what could be but never will be. 8man does that all the time but sadly when a character like Haruno does it people loose interest.
Why?
I don't know but if I were to guess I would say that it is because they have a wrong perception surrounding Haruno and they stick to that perception.
According to most haruno is not human, she cannot blush, she cannot shriek and she cannot make mistakes.
And that's where the majority is wrong.
Haruno is first and foremost a character burdened with a terrible responsibility. She was born into a family which expected many great things from her.
... sadly stories where she appears humble don't get many points. And stories talking about love and bonds shared between family members ranks very low.
.
.
But with that said you stayed true to this character and refused to bog down to peer pressure into making this into something of a romance.
.
.
This could have been a romance.
All you had to do was make Haruno manipulate Fumio and then along the way she could have fallen for him in a genuine manner.
.
.
But then this project would have lost something precious. In its very heart this is a character study and having romance would have made this artificial.
.
.
So, I'm glad there was no romance.
.
.
Not that I have anything egainst romance... Wow for a moment there I sounded like a Tsundere.
.
.
Ok back to my normal self.
Fumio is a great character, I think only he could have talked about Haruno in matters dealing with her family. There was Shizuka too but Fumio was better suited because..well he is like 8man.
Nope, nope.
How can I say is closer to Haruno in some ways that Shizuka is not. Now that can be becauseof difference in age, or unavailability of time but regardless, Fumio is better to have a heart to heart.
.
.
By the way loved the story. I mean the friend of a friend. And you know how Haruno sees through it. I don't think anybody falls for it but it was hilarious and it is always good to have a little bit of humour.
Mof300 chapter 9 . 12/8/2016
Ive said it before and I'll say it again this is one of the best fanfics on this site (low key). The reason being is because two main reasons. One is because how unique it is; in most fanfics Haruno is almost written as a god like entity; a being that can't be understood or trifled with. This Fic makes here a lot more human and more realistic. Speaking of realism; the second reason this fic is so good Is because of how realistic it is. The showdown with Haruno's mom is so real. I was reading how people saying it was too easy and what not. But that's because they haven't experienced emotional blackmail; most mothers don't brute force their way into there kids life rather they manipulate them by guilt trips and crocodile tears. (source:me). They way you wrote that imo is how haruno's mom goes about manipulating her daughter simply because it is the most effective way. Anyway fantastic work you put out I look forward to your fanfic.
Betrayed Dreams chapter 1 . 12/10/2016
Just completed reading this project of yours and I have to say your indepth analysis of this enigma simply known as Yukinoshita Haruno was both entertaining and thought provoking.
.
.
Its an untold tragedy how most projects remain unacknowledged when they try to peal off the layers of an ambiguous character by trying to delve deeper into their psyche.
.
.
Characters need to be fleshed out and though dialogue is helpful, a look into their minds is a far greater approach when dealing with a character like Haruno.
.
.
She is a blank canvas and most fail to grasp the true identity of this young women and try to portray her as a devil incarnate.
.
.
You have made her human, a being of flesh and blood and for that I congratulate you.
.
.
Now onto this chapter.
I will try looking at them individually but like I said, I just finished reading this so some of my thoughts from later chapters might make an appearance beforehand.
.
.
Also I think I am rambling.
Sorry about that but after I read something which is intellectually pleasing I can't stop myself from typing.
.
.
Onto review for the first chapter.
.
.
Fumio Daichi. Teaching assistant.
Of course this is a replica of 8man but he is not actually a complete carbon copy of him. There are similarities but there are also a handful of differences.
.
.
For one thing he is able to hold his own against Haruno and for this project a character like him was needed.

Talking about love?
.
.
What an interesting way to end the first chapter.
I could go on ad on but then I will have nothing to say for the next chapter.
.
.
I read the furst chapter again before reviewing and I will do the same thing when I read the secong chapter.
.
.
This project is worth reading twice.
Well hopefully you found some sense in my rambling.
And once again sorry for leaving such a long review.
.
.
One second though I will hold back on the sorry for now.
This project should get lots of reviews but if no one else does. Then I will.

Fanfic Critic chapter 9 . 12/6/2016
A very interesting and satisfying conclusion to this fanfic. I was surprised to read such a good fanfic that didn't involve romance (not saying that there couldn't).

I look forward to reading your next fanfic, if you decide to write one.
RalphZiggy chapter 9 . 12/6/2016
So she comes to understanding the value of close people, but is she going to seek "the genuine" deep understanding with another?
Williambillhuggins chapter 9 . 12/6/2016
Hello there Mr. Author, i want to start by saying that this is the first ever review i am writing, i was saving it for something else for a while but i guess here is almost as worthy as where i planned.

Stories like yours i suppose suffer from the fact that this series has a diverse fanbase and vocal part that frequents here just want to see their favorite coupling, it is hard to get people interested when you write about older characters let alone older OCs, i have felt that bitterness when stories that had as many words as one chapter of yours in five or more chapters became big hits very quickly and i am not even talking about their quality.

I guess i should not judge people as they are going to keep liking what they like, yet it hurts to see quality works like yours to go underappreciated.

I think i should talk a bit about your work too, quality of your writing is over the roof and you came up with some insights that i have never thought of, especially your idea about the motive of Haruno for pushing Hikigaya and Yukinoshita together.

Only thing that made me question your judgement is that their mother didnt seem to put up a good enough fight, but i am not sure as one if the earlier reviews mentioned, it might be that Haruno was that ready with her weapons after building up for so long that her mother didnt have the chance of counterattacking.

It was a great ride reading your story and i might have to reread it as it has been so long since i read the earlier chapters that it is really blurry in my mind at th moment.

Thanks for a meaningful chapter author-san.

P.S. It's been a long time since your last update author-san.
ImaNukeYourFace chapter 8 . 9/26/2016
They are the author's life and the author's death, the source of satisfaction and of disappointment, the number we wished we didn't care about, but we still do... Ah, reviews, wherefore must you dictate our self-worth so?
As I like to say, the writer writes for himself, but he posts for the praise of everyone else. Or rather, since mind-reading doesn't exist, the only way to know if someone read and hopefully appreciated your work is if they leave a review. But you're right, romance will always beat philosophy: such is the way of fan fiction. I'm generalizing a lot here, but the majority come to this site for fluffy stories about their favorite pairings, and it's only in special cases like Oregairu that the capacity for interesting philosophical fan fics comes into its own... I mean, it's still the minority though...
Well, anyway.
First of all, I think you did a fantastic job with Haruno this chapter. She was pretty much on-point with the comebacks and the meaningful supplications for the freedom to choose one's own path, and to learn from their own mistakes rather than being forced to learn from the mistakes of others. Truly, the latter can't be said to be really living.
One interesting sort of more "meta" observation I had was about the dynamic between Yukimama and Haruno during their conversation. Both are very powerful and very manipulative, but while we get a lot of glimpses at Haruno throughout the canon series, we don't know that much about Yukimama's actual personality. Reading through this site, I've seen everything from the most frigidly calculating bitch to ever walk the fictional earth to the somewhat misguided but truly caring mother that you've portrayed her as here. And of course, none of those interpretations can be said to be invalid, simply because we don't know that much about Yukimama. Plus, some of the only things we do know come from the biased source that is Haruno... Anyway, I digress a bit here.
What I wanted to say was that during their conversation, your Haruno and Yukimama's power dynamic was unexpectedly shifted towards Haruno, surprisingly. This probably stems from something that's true everywhere: the person criticizing tends to have more power than the one being criticized. Hence, since Yukimama was in the defending position and Haruno in the attacking position, Haruno had a slight power advantage over her mother in that conversation. Analytically speaking, Haruno was manipulating the conversation and also her mother a little bit simply because she, as the criticizer, controlled where the attention was being focused. Personally, in my own view of Yukimama, she's certainly the type of person to dictate a conversation like that as well, so perhaps a lot more changing of subjects to try and gain the upper hand was expected by me.
BUT! That said, nowhere is it stated that Yukimama must be a conniving and manipulative jerk of a mother. Perhaps it's as you somewhat hinted at here: Haruno herself is allowing herself and her will to be trampled over simply because she doesn't want to oppose her mother, rather than because of something her mother did.
Anyway, great chapter as always. Lots of social dynamics were illustrated, so I had a good time lol
RalphZiggy chapter 8 . 9/24/2016
I always thought of Haruno willing to bear being "the actress" and having her life arranged for family's sake, while pushing Yukino to have the freedom she didn't and being angry at Yukino for not taking opportunity. But you have a developing Haruno, could it be your Haruno is jealous of Yukino having someone genuinely (- loaded word in OreGairu realm) worried for her future? And then Hachiman becomes a motivator for Haruno as well? As you said Haruno and her mother are mysteries, that was believable exchange you did. We know Haruno finds Hayama boring in canon, so later rejecting him is no surprise if Haruno decides . I enjoyed that part of view of Hachiman and Yukino growing relationship through Haruno's eyes, that helps with grounding your story as part of possible OreGairu path.
Sorashita Charyubi chapter 8 . 9/24/2016
Finally The eldest daughter decided to fight her mother.

P.S. No more Fumio?
