Coming from a DV advocate point of view, I can see what Emma did and understand why she did it. I've seen many women do the same things especially when they have grown up in the foster care system. They feel like everything is eventually going to break and go wrong. They leave something good before it has a chance of hurting them. Her lashing out of Henry is totally normal too and blaming him is as well. She loves him and wants to protect him but at the same time resents him. Emma never had that loving bond during childhood being tossed from home to home that each child needs to develop their emotional well being. Some develop it other ways but those are few and far between.

Emma and Henry are runners. That's all they know. It's going to be like 5 years until Emma sees Henry again. This would be a great time to have Emma change her name and get her life together. And maybe when Regina and Henry and Owen seek her out there might be valid reason why she would not drop everything and go back to Storybrooke. So many choices... Update soon!
