Wow, I had no idea how badly I needed this closure until I'd read it, thank you so much. I'd never really considered how different Pearl, Ruby and Sapphire's bond together must be, considering they are literally the only Crystal Gems from the war who are still around. Thanks for bringing that to light, it makes their whole falling-out-and-making-up arc so much more poignant. Amazing writing :)

Bismuth's episode was so powerful, and this felt like the appropriate reaction to it. I loved how you acknowledged Amethyst wouldn't react quite as strongly given her place in the rebellion being starkly different than Garnet/Pearl's, and this was extremely open. I've always thought they'd harbor some anger for Rose, no matter how much they loved her, and to see it here was satisfying.

I also really loved how they formed Sardonyx in the end; fusion is natural for Ruby/Sapphire, and the intimacy was overdue and needed between the three of them after all the words were said. I adored this story; absolutely awesome job.

This was an amazing fic that explores what (I think some of us felt) the Crystal Gems were feeling at the end of Bismuth's episode. For the longest time I disapproved of how the show just kind of said: "Well, we tried reasoning, but it didn't work. Bubble time again!" Bismuth clearly seemed to reconcile with Steven in the sword-impaling heart-to-heart bit, but the just acted like she was too far gone. But then I read this & you made me think that there was a reason- a good reason- why they never retried talking it out. She'd tried to kill Steven, & without a 100% certainty that it would never happen again, they couldn't really consider it an option. So truly, thank you for sharing this story!

This is incredibly well written, you have captured their personalities perfectly.

Bismuth is probably the most understanding member of the original Christal Gems when it comes to Steven. Once she got proof that Steven was Steven she went back to being nice to him.

Perhaps the headcanon about Pink Diamond could have been left out, but other than that this could seem canon enough for me. Good job & well-done.
