Well I know that in the anime Bleach, the Captains are called "Taichou" to designate them as a Captain. I'm not entirely familiar in weeb, but it was slightly jarring to see Itachi be referred to as Haichou, Captain, or Taichou I suppose would be more appropriate?

I honestly don't know how to feel about this fic, it's still in its formative stage. I love AU's, and would like to see this story go down an AU route. My only real hope is that this fic strays away from how dbz the fights became towards the end of the story, and the sheer amount of plot armour the main caste had was cringeworthy at times. So far, I think that Shisui is my favorite character, and wouldn't be opposed to seeing his family get fleshed out better. They seem to be a strong rock tying down the mc's sanity. Although, I have my suspicions the clan may be axed anyway. The fact the mc doesn't bother to be all that friendly with his own clan kinda leads me to this conclusion.

And getting self-inserted into pokemon may or may not be better than naruto :p Depending on the fanfiction you read, there's some interesting interpretations on how dangerous a pokemon really is. Not to mention long term training seems to be a profession for the phenomenally gifted, or those who come from financially wealthy families. Most people in the canon universe seem to end up with regular boring jobs at the end of the day. Pokemon training isn't cheap. The Game of Champions by L. Lamora, Sacrifice and Subjugation by MetalDargon, and The Summit by are some stories that really make those mons into some intimidating creatures.

I recommend reading Kagemane Complete by Anbu-Dave, I'm Defying Gravity by ShadowedNara, A Scorpion's Successor by VideoGameNut, Genin To Hokage by CaptainLaughs, the Gamer of Sunagkure by Zturm, and Life in Konoha's ANBU by Shezza for some phenomenal takes on what a shinobi is. Just to name a few.

I'm glad your continuing with this fic. As far as your dialogue goes you are certainly better at portraying children then most authors on here-the "dumbed down" writing is far more satisfying [and accurate!] to read then a four year old who speaks like an academic and nobody questions it. Whenever it comes I look forward to your next update.

Nice chapter, though he did miss his chance to convince Shisui that he knows about the coup. He could have said he overheard some people talking, but he didn't know who they were.

It would basically be suicide to not be a ninja, considering how many times Konoha will get invaded in the future.

Yes, this is interesting, though I find his fear of Itachi to be completely irrational, does he honestly believe Itachi would have the heart to kill his best friend's brother?
