I like to imagine he hooked up with Weiss after this just because I love there dynamic in this story.

Wah so many loose ends

I love these alt-Jaune stories where he takes on a normal civilian career. It is cool to see a non-Huntsman character who nevertheless makes an impact on others.

The story ending here makes it feel really incomplete...

The first 2/3rds of the story felt really good to read and I liked it a lot but after that it seemed kinda rushed out and like it lost its direction but all in all it was still great.

Wish there was a part with his real family though ;)

So glad that i found this today, what an amazing and satisfying. Your grammar and writing style were on point. The plot, while simple, was very engaging because we got to see our favorite characters in a relaxing yet intimate environment that we usually don't see them in. And Jaune's emotional progression throughout the story was very well handled. Honestly kinda blown away you wrote this as a 19/20 year old, it defintely shows maturity beyond your age.

Obviously a little disappointed that you chose to end it kind of abruptly, but life is life. If you're busy and can't write, then no point forcing yourself and getting upset that you aren't hitting your goals regarding posting schedules. And im glad you decided to give us a kinda open ending instead of dropping it. Would i have loved to know what happened with Cinder and Salem? Yes. With Weiss? Sure. But defintely not going to complain seeing as the rest of the 29 chapters were excellent.

That ending was super unsatisfying.

There is no resolution to the Salem situation, even some emotional recovery regarding it, and Cinder is said to be missing and not mentioned again. Like what is that bullshit!? Jaune presumably cares quite a bit about her and knows for fact that Salem wasn't happy with what she did, but does nothing. Not even asking Goodwitch to look out for her. When Port was leading Jaune in Vale I almost got excited, I thought we were gonna find Cinder's corpse, I thought we were gonna tie up that loose end. Obviously I realise that leaving it open ended was intentional, be that to leave the reader wondering or to set up a sequel, but still.

And dont get me started on the family survives crap, which was incredibly obvious the moment you deliberately drew attention to the fact that Jaune only saw three of his sisters in the afterlife. The death of his family is still tragic and his suffering is still justified, but having part of his family survive just makes it feel all so... Pointless, like it invalidates his suffering despite what I just said.

I liked the story but... That ending. Like, really!? That's the bullshit your gonna leave the reader!? That's what you wanted to be the final taste left in our mouth!?

Disappointing.
