Reviews for How I fell in love with my best friend
flying-octocat chapter 21 . 18h
First off: wonderful fanfic you have here. I have read up until here and can say that you have doen good work here (with, of course, accounting for all of the things that plague fanfic works).

Some things I find uncertain, though:

1. Too much important dialogue (at least up until here) are nested in their love scenes. Aside from the distraction from the emotional impact of some of the topics (living together, wedding, etc.), it appears that the main lead holds his partner in a sexual hostage situation where true dialog is not possible. It was such a good scene, marred by the act. (Me complaining about this is saying something as I am fond of your writing of those particular scenes).

2. Nothing with the story but with you. I am sure you are a wonderful person and am grateful that you wrote this to be viewed by us, readers. I am also sure that your requests for reviews are to keep your motivation up as well as have feedback on how you work. However, I felt that how you did it (particularly in this chapter) is done in poor taste. To hold your work's continuation against people is high handed. Readers and authors work together and, as such, should have a modicum of respect to each other. I feel I should air this at this point in time.

Mayhaps you will not see this review or not post it but I wish you good fortune in your endeavors. And thank you once again for sharing your story with us.

I've got to say its my third time reading this any I've read 100ds of naru saku fanfic but in my list this is most realistic and great only one problem you could improve action scenes a little bit. Other than that everything is fine.

How I feel in love with my best friend it one of many favorite stories. I had the time to read from the beginning to the end. The author was so creative and so intelligent the way she explains how their love begins when they were children in the academy. During the years they had to go through different challenges to overcome them to be together as a couple. Those challenges were a test on how strong their love was and nothing can tear them apart. Narusaku belongs together. Without sakura, naruto wouldn't be the man he is today. I loved how there were mixed emotions and feelings of sadness, anger, happiness towards the end all those emotions and feelings turn out to be feelings of love. I will love for a sequel to be written in this story. It will be my honor to read it because I want to know what happens after sakura gives birth to her baby daughter and how naruto will explain to her how her baby earns her whiskers. When you have time please continue with the sequel. Don't let negativity from others pull you down. Like I said before you did an amazing job writing this story so creative and intelligent the way it came out. Take care and hope to see a sequel soon.

I've already finished your story, I'm re-reading it again cause I can't find any fanfic out there that can compare to this. I love how your version of Sakura is actually strong and likable. A lot of fans don't like Sakura and therefore portray her in their Fanfics as a very unlikable girl. But your portrayal of Sakura is very unbiased and showed a Sakura that's fleshed out. I always judge good writing by the dialogue and a lot of people have trouble writing good dialogue (I've gone through a lot of fanfics) but you don't have trouble with it. Also your pacing is also perfect. So overall it's 10 out of 10 for me. Yes there were some grammatical error but to be honest I didn't care for it. It didn't affect my experience with this story.
Sana chapter 42 . 6/9
Dang you can write. This is such a chill read. It's well paced and I enjoyed narusaku's smooth transition from friends to lovers. I like your versions of Naruto and Sakura too. As I got deeper into your story, and as Sakura slowly falls for Naruto and I love how you managed to make small changes in how she acted towards Naruto. Also I love how in all your fics Naruto's hair is short. I too think that short hair suits him. I'm satisfied with the ending. But I wouldn't mind a sequel. Did Sasuke kill the man? What colour are the baby's eyes? How are Naruto and Sakura as parents?
Guest chapter 14 . 5/28
So you basically let Sakura whore herself to another man because she thought Naruto was dating Hinata?

You're a cuck...
karinuuzumaki chapter 42 . 5/2
I found this story back then in 2017, but I never got to finish reading this story and put this story on my bookmark list. I had actually forgotten that I kept this unread for so long. When I was scrolling through my bookmark list last week, I stumbled upon this story again and I decided to finish reading this. That, actually one of the best decisions I ever made. This story is, oh my God, I don’t know how to describe it unless it is a treasure for the NaruSaku fandom. It is everything I want to read in post-war narusaku fanfiction. You tell them even the minutes after they finished their battle from the war, then went to the transition era where everything is mostly blank period, then went to the Naruto as Hokage era. It’s beyond everything that I ever asked for.
I will not be focusing my review on the writings or the grammar, since I’m sure you got plenty of that already. I was a little bit late coming here, and you already perfected many things of your works. Thus I will be focusing my review on how I feel when I read this story.
Chapter 1 already gives me some promising prologue to this story. Chapter 2 is when I started to fall for your Naruto. I love how collected he was even when Sakura came to him in tears, her tears are for her love that not his. Love that Naruto was dying to have. But he’s decided to act as her best friend first, and try to ignore his feelings. I love it so much. Then as soon as Chapter 4, my eyes started to get wet and teary. Ah my baby boy, Naruto. Chapter 5-6 are two chapters that are really fun to read!
After that I got lost in track, I started reading without stopping. Everything is so interesting that I can’t stop. I love how Sakura is just gradually falling in love with Naruto without even realizing. That is one of my favorite NaruSaku tropes ever. She started falling little by little, and because it was so natural, because their togetherness felt like a universal constant, she didn't clearly see that actually she is falling for Naruto. This is when everything gets even more interesting for me. I love mutual pining so much, and oh my god, this fanfiction just captures it all marvelously. The fact that the ‘naruto-is-poisoned’ scene is getting the major part of this story is also a true genius! I love how both characters get plenty of time together to contemplate their feelings and their relationship. It ended with some mind blowing sex scene which is a true treasure addition to this story. Damn the lemons are so hot!
The Thing that gives me a little bug is how Naruto is very impulsive afterwards, he tries to push everything so fast after their confession. True it was verily in character with his impulsiveness, but I still think that it was a little bit too fast. Thankfully you provide adequate reasons for him to act that way. The fact that he’s actually scared that it's all just a dream just melted my whole heart.
The story then progressed to the brief dating period, that aside from giving us some nice sex scene, also giving us plenty of domestic narusaku and their relationship dynamics that seems very real. Their wedding is also like a dream come true. And Chapter 39 is just beyond intriguing, I love how it actually tied everything together with Momoe’s scene. That is actually a very nice execution. And the death… oh my god, that was agonizing. I almost lost my hope during the resurrection scene, but Sakura and Sasuke make it all work. Naruto is alive to become a father, and I am so glad about that.
Thank you so much for writing this and sharing this story with us. I definitely have to put it on my fave story list. As I said before, this truly deserves to be called a fandom treasure. You don’t know how glad I am when I visited your profile and found out there’s another NaruSaku fanfiction on your page. I will certainly read them when I have a chance. Thank you for all your hard work on writing this. As an author myself, I know how hard it is to write a story and receive very little feedback. Your story however, deserves all the great feedback, faves, and follow. Please keep on writing!

ps. sorry for bad english, xx

Gud one dude
Aoi Raito chapter 42 . 4/12
So, I just finished reading this story. I needed to come back to my computer so I could write a proper review. Just like yourself, English's not my primary language! I need time to concentrate and to put my thoughts in order, so I can make sure I'm able to express everything I want.

Since I'm really out of time, I tend to search for completed stories only. There are two reasons for this: a) writers don't finish their work; b) it's easier to start reading something that you know that's already over. I have one warning though: your stories aren't flagged as "completed"! None of them! So that's why I didn't read them until now! And I'm so sorry about this. I mean, your work is awesome and I really wanted to have find out about it sooner. And don't think I didn't see your pleas of reviewing your chapters along the way... I understand you, but when I review, I need to do it properly. That's why I take my time when reviewing.

The first thing I want to highlight is how you developed Naruto and Sakura's relationship. I saw some comments telling that it was too slow. I strongly disagree: it was one of the rightest paces I've ever seen around. I mean, people have a tendency of eagerly chasing the romance, but don't mind how it grows along the plot. If people weren't like this, maybe Kishimoto wouldn't develop irrational couples at the end of his story. It's perfectly understandable how Sakura finds herself confused and, mainly, how she decided to date someone else when she thought that Naruto moved on. This is not shounen-like at all, but this is how real life works! One of the things I know personally is that romance and friendship take time and labor. If you see how much Naruto and Sakura worked together, fought together, learned about each other, all of this together, you'd clearly notice how much time they spent and how much they labored their relationship. It didn't make sense to me they not ending up together in the cannon! On the other hand, I really enjoyed how much patience you had when developing their relationship! I could see both time and labor. I don't get how people don't understand this when first reading this story... But I guess that's how readers are anyway.

The second in the set of highlights goes to Team Seven. Sasuke was a huge asset in your story, and even though I've read several stories that establish a good plot for him, I must also congratulate you for this work. I mean, you entered in his mind in the beginning: he was conflicted on to whether enter a relationship with Sakura or not. He thought she was cute, but that wasn't reason enough. And his reasoning was, on my point of view, really Sasuke-like. Regardless of that, they were able to keep together as team and as friends, which was amazing! Besides, the fact that Karin also grew as part of this family was really good. However, I don't know if you read or like Boruto - I don't like it, but I sacrificed myself in reading it. I don't hate the children of the "blah" next generation. Mostly because they have names that fit well the characters and, well, they're kind of cute. Sarada is one of my favorites! And I find it awesome how she doesn't look like Sakura at all! I mean, she's totally like Sasuke and Karin. Really. Don't get me wrong: I'm totally ok of having Kazuhito born and I would really hate seeing some "Boruto" or "Himawari" popping out in this story. I just wanted to discuss with someone regarding this new generation. It doesn't completely suck! LOL.

The third goes to the sex scenes. Well, I'm far from being a specialist, but I hardly believed that such connection would be possible between Naruto and Hinata. We know as a fact that Sakura has a more flowered and explicit sexuality. Naruto himself seems to be quite investigative and curious about sex nature; hell, he developed sex-based techniques since his childhood! If NaruSaku doesn't look like a perfect matching couple in sex, I don't which else would be. But my highlight is not specifically directed to all lemon that you've wrote: it's actually to the one that you partially did! It's the one between Naruto and Hinata! I never ever read something related to NaruHina. Despite, here was I urging to see something about it. I was thinking: maybe I could see something in the couple I was missing. And God, it was well-written and really hot. I kept myself wondering if NaruHina would have the sex-connection that's surely needed in a relationship. Turns out that you convinced me... yes. They might share it in some way. Making the long story short: although Naruto and Hinata might work out in some ways, Naruto and Sakura is even better. (And I want to leave a small note in this paragraph to Sakura's harem fantasy. It really shocked me - I don't enjoy group sex at all. But hey... That wasn't group sex, right? I mean, it shouldn't count as such. Then again you surprised me and made me question my own beliefs. For sure, I could see a strong connection in NaruSaku) However, sex is not really shounen-like, but I couldn't expect any less from a fanfic. And yours was especially nice. Thanks for all lemonade I drank!

Now, the fourth and last highlight of the set goes to the one issue I found. The antagonists didn't convince me that much. I mean, if Kishimoto did something cool in the manga then it was the villains. Pain, above all, in my opinion, was the most charismatic one. But we have quite a few in the backlog: Sasori, Orochimaru, Itachi (I think he indeed is a villain, but that's on a totally different topic of discussion)... Well, in reality I'd say that the least captivating was Kaguya. Antagonists are quite important, because they create conflicts in the plot. They make us worry about the protagonists and secondary characters, for instance, Sasuke and Shikamaru in your story, which cause quite a motivation in reading the next and the next chapters. However, to create a villain we need several things: his background history, a motivation and personality. I didn't receive much of these from the villains that you created. And this is not something unusual, since many stories out there don't care much about it. And to be honest, I'd say that fanfic writters have their reasons to avoid giving importance to antagonists. Since most of the stories are romantic, antagonists tend to play a really secondary: the main goal is more about making the couple get together. If I could analyze your story from this perspective, I'd say your goal was accomplished with mastery.

Maybe you were expecting a grammar review, but as I said, I'm not a native English speaker. Honestly, I couldn't identify any errors and, if I came across any, it didn't get in the way of my reading. The most important thing is that I could understand perfectly what you wanted to deliver... And I loved your message!

Besides, if I'd have to say something else would to pay less attention to the haters. I usually write stuff in Portuguese, and to be honest I don't really like my work. Mostly because I was younger when I did it. However, I received good reviews along the way. There weren't many, but they were really relevant to me. I hope my review reaches out to you and somehow is carried in your heart for any future works. Besides, art is not a democracy. People shouldn't chose how it ends. Look at how Kishimoto did with the manga! No matter how much we criticize it, the truth is that the manga is over and we didn't have a chance to chose how it ended. In fanfiction there's no reason to be different: you're writing something for yourself. It's not under people's place to chose how you should do things. If they're angry, they're only angry at themselves for reading something that doesn't suit them at all. My point is: they can review the way you write, grammar, plot and similar stuff, but not how you decided to do things. This is totally up to you. And we're together on that.

Well... I guess this was long enough, right? There's another fanfic of yours that I just read. It was a shorter one, but really nice. Made my yesterday a lot better! Please wait a little more until I can raise another appropriate review for you. I understand how you estimate reviews, so I want to do it properly (again).

Now, concluding, THANKS for the marvelous reading. Please don't stop.

xoxo
