This is ... a relative good start, but your fiction a 3 Big probleme;
-lack of situationnels éléments (Visual, time and element of décor)
-lack of background of the personnage (Who is john Mercer? there are no realle physical description, not introduction du character, we a have to wait until the middle of the chapter before to know is name...)
-lack of logic in the dialoque et action of the personnage (even if Aecher is an ass but this trait is offendly exagere in this chapter)

not bad. i do wonder after grasping a phanto-weapon things will pick up the pace. i also wonder if mecha-shift will be possible when making 'your' own weapon.(i like RWBY-esk weapons) also i'm sure it leads to a phanto-bow that will separate into 2 swords. want to see what else happens. until then, ja ne!
