I really REALLY like how this story is going. however, I do have some issues.
There should be far more of a culture shock between the imperials and colonials.
They are both technically humans but realistically the imperium as a TOTALLY different place.
why was there no outrage about the Abominable Intelligence by the Tech-Priests?
I don't understand why a Battlestar wouldn't have a Machine Spirit. LASGUNS have a machine spirit!
The imperial naval attache should be very uncomfortable on a Battlestar, it is for all intents and purposes a Xenos vessel. The layout and appearance are completely different from any imperial design, the ship is very spartan and functional compared to any imperial warship, has now shrines or other signs of devotion to the imperial creed and worst of all, it's a brand new ship! there are few if any ships under a few hundred years old in the imperium. if I was an imperial I would find that very strange.

really like the direction here! the fact that they have come into some old battleground gives a perfect excuse to figure things out a bit and gather intel before the FRAK hits the fan at FTL. I wonder if Imperium Star charts would even make sense to the Colonials because of the degradation of knowledge and VASTLY different cultures...
and IS THE EMPEROR A LORD OF KOBOL?

okay loving that a Choas ship is the very first encounter! it would be really interesting to see Choas Cylons. Caprica 6 would be Slannesh (of course). and the idea of the chaos gods or even the Emperor of Mankind as Lords of Kobol is also really cool. the battle was well done, seems that the 40k weapons would be more powerful, but you really showed the main weakness of most 40k ships EG limited firing arcs so that works along with the surprise factor. any chance of Cyons meeting Necrons? that would be an interesting situation.

Since no new chapters for this story has come forth out of darkness into the light,
I can assume that this story is dead?
