Yeah, this part was always upsetting to me too. I think the gap between a forced kiss and actual rape is closed quickly.
I'm glad Bella sees Jacob for the kid he is. They never had really anything in common, and I always hated that Bella misunderstood her dependence on Jacob for love. In the beginning she only choose La Push because there were no memories of Edward going to haunt her. And Jacob was in everything the opposite of Edward as well. He gave her a breather from her loss, but I don't believe for a second she ever loved him romantically.
So I'm really happy to found this story with a much more likeable Bella. ;)
Like I said, I hope you will continue this...
