I just love how you portrayed Hermione and Tom here. It's quite unnerving how Tom is here. It really is about power, isn't it? And Hermione did choose the winning side.
The best part is the lead up. Just disorienting enough, not to dizzy for us to get a feel of what's happening.

Just imagining the silence also made me disconcerted.

The atmosphere you've created is so intriguing. I love Tom and Hermione's back and forth as well. A protagonist debating morality and choices with their antagonist is one of my favorite areas of fiction to delve into, and you've captured it so well here. And then to finish it off with this bit:

"Tom offered his hand. Wary to the bones, Hermione took it and squeezed."

So, so good!

I quite liked this! Intriguing premise, stuck with him, being forced to know him where he could just chip and chip away until you could stand him. Very well written and while I wanted more, the ending was satisfying too.

Oh my GOD this is one of the most incredible fics I have EVER READ in my ENTIRE LIFE! I favorited it after the third line.

And “There, in that gaping nothing of a figurative cage, liberty nestled.” That line KILLED ME. Your writing is beautiful and poetic and lyrical and so deeply relatable it’s unbelievable. And you’re first language ISN’T ENGLISH?! Your writing is some of the best I’ve ever read, and the fact that it was written in something other than your first language just makes it even more amazing.

I don’t even have the words to say how much I loved this. Not even just loved this, it actually moved me. Your imagery is just FANTASTIC and I’d quote half the lines you wrote on here because they are so wonderful except that would make this review way too long but just WOW. (And the impeccable characterization? You showed me more of their souls in 2,000 words than most writers do in very long, multichaptered fics!) This is the writing of someone who understands language, and life, on a level much deeper than I could ever hope to. I hope that you become a wildly successful published author, and I would DEFINITELY buy your books.
