Well, I don't know anything about Tulip or Emily, but I can behind a situation involving half-siblings from alternative timelines. I actually pitched something similar to a Wendip author several months ago.
I hope there's a way they can both survive, just like Elizabeth and Jam. I like the idea of both love interests being happy. Where's the Master Sword when you need it (split-timeline reference in the Legend of Zelda series, in case you didn't catch that)?
This looks promising, even if I preferred that the future kids were original.
