While this is only the second RWBY fanfic I've read, I have no doubt that it is among its best. There's a lot to like in this story, most of all your fantastic style of writing, though the easily loveable characters and fleshed out world certainly come a close second. Your Ruby is simply delightful; I don't even remember when I last wanted so much to hug a fictional character and tell them everything would be alright...

As you've said, you are perhaps a bit verbose - it probably can't be denied, seeing how reading this story would take about twice as long as watching those first two volumes of RWBY it covers. I definitely didn't feel bored for even a single page, though; it's just such an immense pleasure to read about your Ruby and her friends/family.

My only point of criticism would be the chapter length. Personally, I use an eReader, so I can comfortably stop just about anywhere. Had I been reading via the website, those last two chapters would've been a bit annoying, however. I suppose it's a bit like those TV series with multi-episode arcs; the episode's end just makes for a good pausing point, even if it would be more natural to watch the thing in one go. (I did once read a story without any chapters at all, years ago as a school assignment. Read the thing in one go, because where was I supposed to stop? Perhaps I'm just weird that way, though.)

Back to THE, I can't laud your characterizations and dialogues enough! Everyone was just so loveable, Team RWBY most of all, of course; the dialogues were especially fantastic.

I'm eagerly looking forward to more, both the remaster and the eventual second volume!

Incredibly exponsition filled and written by an extremy horny pervert of the HIGHEST possible order.

This chapter was not particularly confusing, but I noticed that in general you have a tendency to switch POVs between paragraphs in the same section. It does take a bit from the immersion, as even when you make it obvious it can take a second for the reader (or at least me) to change gears and adjust to a different perspective when I expected the narrative to stay consistent.

That said, this is an excellent story, with some of the best characterizations I have seen.

I was on the edge of my seat for the whole chapter, the premise alone was enough to get me invested in seconds. Add to that the elegant writing style, the interesting characterisation, and an engaging take on Ozpin's POV and there's every chance I'll be staying up late tonight to finish this.

Well then, this premise has certainly caught my attention. After reading the first chapter, these are some things I wish to say something about.

I would say that it would be smarter to let Ruby train her semblance in a controlled environment, rather than try and keep it locked up. Ozpin of all people should be, at least to some extent, aware of this. I can't say that the decision is OOC for Ozpin, as there are some clear changes and deviations from canon already, the Orion story and blue hoodie being two of the more obvious ones, not counting the changes to Ruby's physical changes, but if we're thinking canon Ozpin, then this definitely feels OOC.

Now, I want to say that I commend you at how well Ruby's fighting style is adapted to work with her Semblance, and the lack of Crescent Rose as a result of her not having gone to Signal. I am however disappointed in her complete lack of weapon outside of the one she summoned while using her Semblance. Not being allowed to use her Semblance in public would definitely be nothing new, and would always become a thing. If anything, I feel Qrow would have gotten Ruby a weapon she could use. Of course, her not having brought it with her on a simple trip into town could be a thing, but unless Ruby is no longer a weapon nut, and even more of a dolt, I see no reason for a wannabe Huntress to leave her weapon behind like that. Ergo, the same reasoning for why she had her weapon with her in canon seems like it should apply here, even with the changes observed in place. That Ruby would risk exposing herself like that and resort to using her Semblance seems... really really stupid in a way. That's just me.

Now, I want to both say how I like, and at the same time dislike the fact that Ruby's abilities in this story are in fact her Semblance. On one hand, I find it refreshing for this kind of story, as this bold decision shows a lot of potential for things to come, and makes it clear you're not afraid to change things from canon. Unfortunately, it also pains me to say that it alienates Ruby in a way, as she becomes less... well, Ruby. Not only do we not have Crescent Rose, but we have a change in appearance, Semblance and now as a result, personality in Ruby. The more changes we see in the character, the harder it becomes to associate her to the character we all know and love. To me, Ruby is now already bordering between an AU Ruby Rose, and an OC that has taken her place. Changing things is a fine line, some like it, some don't and for me, personally, this is borderline for me.

Now, one of the smallest things that irk me, and you're not alone in this mistake, as many, many people do this, be it because they don't know, or simply don't care, but Ozpin is a Chocolate drinker, not a Coffee drinker.

Well damn... now I want to see a fic where Ruby is Sienna's daughter, that would be awesome!

Yeah, think I'll just wait for more chapters of the Remaster version. Don't get me wrong, this is by no means bad. It's easily above average compared to other RWBY fics. The remastered version is a work of art, though; easily far ahead of this version. I'm impressed to see how much you've improved in such a short period of time.
