Spooths chapter 159 . 11/24/2019
I'm leaving a comment here rather than the last hapter to say that I' sure any comment I would do this story justice. This was a work other. In all OF PMMM fanfiction, there is no other story that has caused me to think like this one has. Perhaps that comes off as a bit "oh 2deep4u" and while I would say there are some elements of over philosophizing, I would say it's very deliberate rather than pretentious. Namely the N stuff feels very deliberately designed to puzzle the reader.

I truly loved this. It took me quite a long time to read it, but I'm so glad I did. Nothing compares. Even To The Stars, doesn't approach this. Every character feels almost perfect.

I hope one day I can leave a more in depth comment, but I'm not sure I ever will feel qualified to do so. Thank you for writing this.

I Remain,

There were totally spider lillies in that pot.

I don't remember Homura ever telling Mami about the existence of magic and the law of cycles. Did that happen and I'm forgetting it? Or did she just throw some wild curveballs in there; going from a personally story about her life to suddenly talking about altering the fabric of reality?

"I am not saying that I was not like any normal human being. I am also made of flesh and blood. I am only human, all too human."

That's not quite true, is it? Not even remotely true. Freaking godlike entities underselling themselves.

So it seems to me what she's going to do is remove magic from the universe. If all the wraiths and everything have been destroyed (presumably by herself) then she's really only left with destroying the universe or destroying herself. As it is, I suppose she's the only magical entity left in the entire multiverse. Perhaps she's even detroyed the Incubators at this point. It is very like her to take this to it's conclusion of at the very end purging herself from reality. Although can you really destroy a conceptual entity? I'm not sure. Perhaps what she means is that she'll remove the personality from her existence (that of evil or love or whatever she personifies) and become like the Law of Cycles without Madoka's personality. Just a law of the universe.

I imagine that last bit about meeting Madoka over and over again was rather confusing.

Honestly I think Homura should've pushed for the lone burial. I think N would appreciate that.

Homucifer should bring N back to life. That would be an interesting conversation.

I can't help but picture them as high school students despite this being set before the start of the anime making them (or at least Homura and N) younger than 14 years old. Maybe I shouldn't think about the timeline so much.

Oh geeze, Hole Dwelling is a perfect song for N

"For a moment, I wished that I could turn back time. I wished I could redo it all, right my wrongs, and set myself on the straight path unswerving"

Oh dear that's sad.

See, Homura has never been a good person, but it's interesting to see that come out less like "not good" and more like "bad". She is rather cruel here. However thinking about it, is this really any more cruel then what she does trying to prevent Madoka from contracting? Her vicious use of Mami's death, her casual dismissal and condemnation of Sayaka when talking to Madoka; in fact her completely disregard for anyone who isn't Madoka is perhaps more cruel. The difference between that and the situation with N, is that the latter has an element of insidious manipulation for personal gain the former doesn't.

Although I suppose in a way even hey protection of Madoka has some of those elements. After all, her goal isn't just to save Madoka from death—its to be the one who protects her. Almost like Kyouko's advice to Sayaka about making Kyouske reliant on her, Homura wants to be Madoka's savior. Hmm.

I wonder if N is even real. Is N simply a part of Homura? It feels like that could be the case, but it also might not be the case. Perhaps she both is and isn't. This entire backstory that Homura is telling could've been something she invented as a way to explain things but because she's a god she then made it actually happen in the past.

I keep forgetting to come back and finish reading this.

It is somewhat puzzling to see such young children be so philosophical, but not displeasing. I'm really loving this section despite Homura being the only familiar character.
Spooths chapter 111 . 7/30/2019
So is Homura about 12 here? In the first timeline, Moemura was 14 (same as everyone else), and she was stated to have missed like a year of school. That's a year behind everyone else I guess. Which is why she couldn't do any maths on the board. I'm glad to see moemura doing well in the past at least.
Spooths chapter 107 . 7/24/2019
You know, I just realized that the Homura who was with Senpai and N was glasses and braids Homura. All timid and stuff. But since Homucifer is the narrator, it gives the impression that the Homura in the past is the Homura we're used to. That just altered my perception a lot.
