There's a whole lot of story going on in here, but it is NOT being told.

Let's take a very simple example.
The author spends 95 words over 7 sentences commenting about Xeno Lovegood's outrageous robe color.

WITHOUT STATING THE COLOR

The same tactic is used with other, more important aspects of the story too.
It is *fine* to create a new universe and populate it with changes. But spend a teensy bit of time making those changes visible to the reader too, ok?

You have a great imagination. I hope you get the time and inclination to continue writing.

I don't like Hermione this chapter. I feel like she was acting selfish by turning this situation around for herself. Basically only thinking about herself after Harry came home unconscious. "You nearly died, do you know how that would have effected ME?" - This is what I felt she was doing and saying the entire time. How dare he leave her (which is something out of his control), how could he break his promise of ALWAYS being there no matter what.

It rubbed me the wrong way, and I understand that she has many insecurities and issues due to parental neglect, but even then you don't just turn a near-death situation on its head and make it about yourself! It's plain narcissistic, in some respects. I also don't like that Harry has constantly put her before himself, which is a very selfless and loving gesture, but you can't keep someone else warm by lighting yourself on fire.

Their relationship is imbalanced, with him giving more and more while she stays in her little protective bubble refusing to venture out. She's in the wrong here, regardless of how she feels. He's going through a traumatic and emotional period, where he will need support and trust from someone since he now feels hurt from his parents (Lily and Sirius) withholding information.
This is a situation where one seeks comfort from their partner and loved ones. Not the partner being the one feeling betrayed by something that has more to do with their mental health than anything the person (harry) has done(more like, not done in this case.).

Basically, Hermione needs therapy. A LOT of it to help her work through her issues, and its not Harry's job to be her therapist.

Ok, I'll stop now. I just get really heated sometimes.

Ugh, honestly the way that the power structures are placed to shut down underprivileged victims is disgusting. Very much like the real world, unfortunately. Those with money and status have the power to brush things under the rug without consequence.

At least Harry is able to have a little peace of mind with the Protection Order. I can only imagine how terrifying it must be to constantly see, hear and be forced to share the same space as one's abuser.

I hope that Hermione works on her own issues so that she can stop projecting her insecurities and end up self-sabotaging her own relationships.

I didn't expect to get so invested into this fic. Frankly, I hadn't even planned to read it, I had only come across it randomly. But something pulled me in and I've been reading (and crying) nonstop since. This is such a heavy fic. Extremely so, with the unfair treatment of Harry from the entire wizarding world, the attempted murder that was passed off as a hazing joke (I was FURIOUS), and now this - assault. I'm glad that you are not shying away from showing that, as the perpetrator is Ginny (a girl), that it still leaves severe mental scars and fears towards one's attacker. I feel like male victims aren't taken as seriously, which is so sad.

I really hope that Hermione realizes that Harry didn't do this on purpose and wasn't even in control; and the kiss, while in different circumstances I would have an issue with, is discussed since the both had been kissed by someone else for "just a moment".

I just want to say that you've done an amazing job at developing their personalities and backstories here. I've never really read an HP AU fic like this before, so I'm a bit like a fish out of water, but I've fallen down the rabbit hole of this story and I'm gonna read every single chapter til the end.

Okay, wow. This book is a roller coaster, I swear. There is so much happening that is making me smile, or laugh, or cry or even feels their pain. I think this is the second book that made me want to read it all night long and I did. I loved it! And I can't wait for the next update!

Read this all in one go and I love it! Does Dumbledore, James etc know that Jack isn't the BWL? I also really like the characterisation of Hermione, which really fits considering in canon she was a frighteningly independent child and had little problem obliviating her parents. It's nice to see the actual effects of childhood neglect explored. Please, please, please update!

This is the second time I have read this and I can't bring my self to finish it again because I know it isn't finished. I also know how hard it is to complete something. I just want to say that this piece of writing is magnificent and I could not put it down. I know that people asking to to update can be really annoying so I'm not going to ask. I'm just going to say thank you for writing this and I hope you find it In yourself to come back to it.

I love the fic. But, I really despise how you've portrayed Hermione. She's so weak... Pathetic. Harry gives her all of him. And she.. Can't even stand by him when life gets tough. And the fact that he still loves her after she abandons him. It horrified me.
