Reviews for A Tale Of Death and Luck
general zargon chapter 12 . 12/27/2017
OMFG, this story is incredible! How did it take me so long to find this?! O.o I loved Death and Luck, and the other immortal characters were a lot of fun to read. You showed a peek of Death's dark side very well, I thought. :) I wish you the very best of luck on your writing!
wanderer02 chapter 12 . 12/15/2017

Rockster chapter 12 . 12/13/2017
Man... boy I am feeling guilty for asking this again...

When are you going to update more chapters? I am still wanting to read more of your stories, and it has been more than 3 months now without any updates from ya. Any stories would be fine, heck even a short annoucement only in one of your stories would be fine!

I am sorry for my rudeness in here. (And I felt like a stalker for constantly checking your user profile for any updates... - -" ) If you still busy at your side, I understand.
Rockster chapter 12 . 8/3/2017
Oh, a new chapter already? That's fast.

Oh that heist, the first showdown of the successors, which also marks the friendly rivalry between two main characters who shares a lot of similarities. Despite it is MK episode, it also can be partially DC as well, as this scene fits perfectly in both series.

TBH, from the way you written this chapter, it really makes the entire showdown much more funny. Seriously, I just laughed at how the deities reacted during and after the showdown.

Death... I won't say the death of millions in wars counts as 'fun' or an 'art' tho... Yeah, he is not really a 'nice' deity, but I still like him for his personality like what 'Disconsolate Mist' said.

Discord has an... interesting taste of art? Conflicts can lead to wars and deaths, and I would NOT call this as an 'art'. Despite this, at very RARE times conflicts can be very funny (Heiji and Kazuha being one of a huge examples there). Heck, sometimes conflicts can be a double-edged sword; either it can break relationship, or it will strengthen the bond instead.
I guess that Harmony had to step in whenever Discord decides to go meddling with mortals' lives.

Wait... is that Mermaid Island from the episode (222~224) where Heiji and Kazuha almost died at the end of a cliff? I did some checking and I am very curious what are Death and Fate doing at that island. Are they predicting who will die in the future or who will get the arrows?

Death... what are you doing with Heiji's omamori? I am kinda getting a bad vibe from this...

I guess that Pride is very mischievous loves to play some pranks to either mortals or immortals. Well, ain't she is bored?

Anyway, pretty nice chapter.

Hmm... about 'Fate eyed Life as she entered the old warehouse, Death a silent spectre by her side. ', I think this might work.
'Fate eyed Life as she entered the old warehous, Death remained silent like a spectre by her side.' [Well, that is how I interpret this sentense...]

Speaking of Heiji... I am still waiting for the next chapter of 'Fated Friendship' of yours.
Disconsolate Mist chapter 12 . 8/1/2017
Yay, a quick update! :D And of one of my (and it seems, quite a few other's) favorite episodes. I really just love the friendly rivalry that is kind of started between Kaito and Shinichi here.

Hahaha, cracking up at Luck's annoyance with Death. Even though Death is dark, his personality makes for some of the funniest situation with others. Partially because he's not easily perturbed when others are fuming beside him. And, poor Luck, she kind of fell into his trap there.

Discord (can't help but think of MLP here... XD)... Heh. Death was not happy about his insults there. He and Discord would make a deadly team, when working together, so it's good they don't seem to get along terribly well. They probably do sometimes (I could see them having some sort of game night under Discord's influence). In fact, a deity game night would be hilarious! Not that that would really fit in here (doesn't have much to do with the series). Oh well. :P

Anyway, great chapter! :D

The greatest love stories always end in tragedy...
It seems to be especially true for the cast of DC...
It was short and sweet chapter so far.
Good job.

This definitely was a most beloved episode and you've done it great justice! The combination of humor and satire was well placed as well as the interactions between the deities!
Good work.

LadyShadow26 chapter 12 . 8/1/2017
Aww looks like a true return to form for our favorite dieties XD This was really fun.

I certainly agree on this being one of my favorites in terms of episodes too (The only that really tops this one in my mind is "Green Dream" ah but how sweet that is! Hmm could you possibly do a story on that? I'm sure you could use a couple of unused dieties such as "Muse" for that one)

Heh the Mermaid Island Story reference is just so beautifully placed. Is this almost a prequel? Are we going to see how that ends up playing out? Eh feels like "Love" would have a couple words to say with Death there too.

Mmm it really is hard to tell who won the initial showdown between Kaito/Shinichi. As you stated neither found out who the other was. Thus yeah "draw" is a pretty good way of putting it.

Anyway lovely chapter and such a sweet balance of humor and "suspense" XD Can't help but love Death and Lucks crazy relationship. They just balance eachother out so perfectly.

Thanks much for writing this :) Cant get enough of these!
Freefan1412 chapter 12 . 8/1/2017
This was a nice one. Some innocent, playful and fateful rivalry between Death and Luck and first time meeting of Shinichi and Kaito. That episode is also one of my favourites and I'm so very happy that is was turned into an anime in different variations. Love them. :)
Disconsolate Mist chapter 11 . 7/31/2017
Awww... T.T Akemi! No. So short, this was, yet it really was sweet. It's just so heartbreaking that Akemi had to die like that, and then Akai got introduced, and you can't help but feel even worse for our poor, fallen friend. :'( Poor Life, too... She had clearly taken a liking to Akemi, as well as Love (because of the wonderful relationship she had with Akai).
Whelp, I'm going to go cry myself to sleep now... I did love it, though. :)
Rockster chapter 11 . 7/31/2017
Ok... never mind... I forgot that Love first appeared in chapter 5 with Kudo couple and Toichi... *facepalmed*
Sorry about that, I just don't remember that she did appeared way before this chapter. Now I feel like an idiot...
LadyShadow26 chapter 11 . 7/31/2017
Aww super short but sweet. Indeed this worked pretty well though I think that Future maybe should have been present (heh) as well to "comfort" Life in this case, but other than that it seem's Fate/Love did a pretty good job of pointing out why tragedies like this sometimes need to happen. Beautifully written tragedy. Look forward to more if you ever choose to write it!

Mmm even though this is mostly a DC story maybe a MK-centric one at some point? I don't know I should really only give so many prompts XD Thanks for writing these btw :D Always a pleasure to read.
Rockster chapter 11 . 7/30/2017
Oh, a new chapter! Hehe... aren't ya in a great mood to write eh? Seriously, I still have the aftershock of you updating after a long time of absence... (in a good way BTW)

So... THAT case. Akemi... sigh. Boy, I can still remember that case, and seriously, on that moment, it really feels like hopelessness saturated the air, and this chapter is no exception. As soon as I seen the freaking title of that case, boy, that Akemi death scene and Haibara break down scene comes to mind very quickly, and I can even feel the helplessness before reading the chapter itself.

Not to mention that Death just stand silently there, watching Akemi died, like a Grim Reaper. If anything, I think Fate will say that Akemi's fate has been very cruel and was meant as a stepping stone for the future events [*cough Haibara and Akai * cough]. I can't help but pity her for dying like that. Yes Life, Akemi should deserve more than... this. May Akemi rest in piece in heaven.

What? Love isn't a new deity? I don't remember Love appeared in the past chapters... [Or did I missed her?] Also Love, you are not the only one who thinks Akemi is very similar to Ran... (*cough Haibara*)

Also, I know this is a bit of a nitpick, but I feel like this sentence is incomplete:
'Fate eyed Life as she entered the old warehouse, Death a silent spectre by her side. '

Anyway, pretty nice chapter.
animeloverhomura chapter 1 . 6/4/2017
I like the whole favorites part of this. Death must love Shinichi, I like thinking of him as Death's champion. I sometimes feel a bit odd for this, but not the greatest fan of Kaito Kid. I don't particularly care about that part, but the Shinichi part is amazing.
ariel chapter 9 . 4/14/2017
The fact that Heiji is a favourite of Death makes me wonder how Death selected his champions: is it only hereditary (you featured Death with Yusaku in a previous chapter) or did he just scan the whole Japan for children-with-aspiration-for-detective-work and decide to give them plenty of chances to sharpen their skills as they grow up? (Death somehow does not follow Hakuba in Japan, otherwise there will be some problems with Kid's heists)
Death might not have his way with Yusaku and Toichi, but anyone can see he exercises his idea of bonding-over-casework to its extreme potential when it comes to Shinichi/Conan and Heiji's friendship. Those two develop their bond while investigating murders, serial murders, some serious assaults, an arson-leading-to-murder, at least one bombing threat and maybe one or two suicides. By the way, does Death consider the negative side effects his presence has on his favourites' lives? Shinichi was involuntarily transformed into a seven-year-old (Death did not initiate this but being the brilliant detective who keeps stumbling into cases caught Nemesis' attention, right?); even then he got shot in the stomach when exploring a cave with the Detective Boys. Heiji has less lasting but still significant incidents: being hit and pushed from a ship in the middle of the sea, hanging at a cliff on the mermaid island, tied up in the attic of a corrupt lawyer who intended to kill him as a witness. Does Death have to put Life and Luck on speed dial for those emergencies? And there are romantic confessions stalled by murder cases for both of them. Heiji's achievement in sports takes blows: up to the latest manga chapters there has been a Second time someone just happens to be murdered during whatever kendo tournament Heiji is participating in. Seriously?
