But more importantly: I'm now rereading this story yet again. I love how you keep everything so simple, letting the characters show themselves with such depth so flowingly. This always inspires me to want to write something like this.

This is my favorite story I've read in a long time. I'm somewhat reminded of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead - in the best possible way. Thank you for such a beautifully written, thoughtful, evocative story.

That was a nice read. It really feels like we get some closure of the conflict. It's fun to read those character, that always had to lie, when they have nothing to lie for anymore.

This story...made me sad. As I read about Light and L feeling empty, I was feeling empty along with them.

I couldn't help it. There were even three instances where tears were coming to my eyes and my throats seemed to have closed up. I...I don't even know why.

Is it pity? For both of them? That they're stuck there? Is it understanding on why they did what they did in their life? Or is it just sadness at what this whole thing, the reasons they both died and now they're stuck there together?

It's probably a mix of everything. I don't remember who said it here, Light or L, that there is no definite answer...

If only Light knew that before.

I really enjoyed this story, I was secretly hoping for them to become friends at some point. That makes me wonder how different their lifes would have been if they met before they grew bored and indifferent with the world. I'll definitely have a look at your other story now.

As someone who reads in reversed order ('rot' first, 'ash' second), rot is my favorite. Light dealing with the Shinigami is sweet!

I loved your ending! It ended so perfectly and to be totally honest with you, I thought the ending would be more dreary than the ending you wrote. I loved your more optimistic ending than the pessimistic ending I thought it would be.
