This was absolutely delightful to read. Wonderful use of the dialogue prompt, and I love the whole idea for this.

My favourite thing about this is the characterisation. It's great how Minerva and Pomona come across as not only colleagues but old friends - I've always imagined them as close, and the banter between them before Neville arrives seems spot-on to me. And Neville himself is fantastic. You can tell that he's grown from what he was like as a teenager, but he still shows signs of how he was before - he's clearly nervous, and who wouldn't be in that situation! I also liked some of the tiny touches, like how to Pomona he was Neville (which makes sense as they were always closer), but to Minerva he's still Mr Longbottom. The bit where he says he feels like he'll be scolded if she still called him that made me smile - he was always quite nervous of Professor McGonagall!

In terms of the actual writing, I really like your style! It's coherent and really easy to read, but there's also plenty of description, some of which is absolutely beautiful. I just noticed two tiny things, which I'm going to point out because I don't really have anything else to criticise... In the first paragraph, you have 'long-time' in consecutive sentences, so one of those could do with having a different adjective to replace it. Also, there's a typo in this sentence: '...a precarious time for the Wizarding world as a whole. and the Auror Office...' I assume you meant to put a comma after 'and' instead? Or a capital letter?

I'm a sucker for post-war stories, and your last couple of paragraphs epitomise why - it's bittersweet, how the world has moved on but they still remember everything they've been through. And I like how you back up this idea with the mention of Albus earlier on and Minerva saying that Neville's parents would be proud. I am in love with this sentence: 'Now light was finally dawning after decades of darkness, sweeping through the world on wings of hope and love and wonder.' Fantastic work :)
