A superb piece of writing. Believable indeed highly realistic and you get the reader to sympathize with Sherlock as he consciously makes the decision to try to be a better person over and over again learning to show empathy and even more important to genuinely feel it.

great story so far! Just a small note, you started calling Victor "Trevor" about 3/4 of the way down. i love the comfort they have around each other.

I liked how you handled him remembering his sister and wonder what Mycroft is going to tell him. Molly also handled his panic attack very well. She's his rock, along with John, and I believe he would be lost without either of them.

Poor Sherlock, his social disability is getting sensitive even to himself... He's becoming a great person chapter by chapter, no wonder John is showing surprise :)
On a side note, totally unrelated to the story, I can't help but wonder what kind of times we live in when authors feel that much need to give that many warnings and disclaimers. Would you see them on books covers? I know the reasons, and I place the same warnings on my own stories, but still feels like a shame. I greatly appreciate how you arrange yours, placing the actual warning at the end so readers who didn't care for those wouldn't be spoiled.

I am sad of course but I think you handled this very realistically. As much as reading the fanfic is a fairytale sometimes it is nice to see our beloved characters deal with the same human things we do everyday
