Damn, oak is really overprotective on ash.
Also interesting the aura sight, the mewtwo-ash scene was really touching and their bond improved (would like to see them kissing).

Hello. I'm writing this review, partly because I want you to feel better, and writing a review is the only way I can help towards that on this site.

So, firstly, I quite enjoyed this chapter. Seeing Ash actually experiment with his powers is, interesting. Can't wait for him to start doing space magic, can't wait for it.

As for everything else, this story is one of the best pokemon fics ever, and I'm glad I found it. I hope things improve for you, and I'll be waiting for more.

Can't wait to see how Charizard burns down the grass gym, that'll be pretty cool.

I have no experience Kalos or Alola so I won't be commenting on related aspects.

I enjoy the personality crafted for Mewtwo here. It is clearly recognizeable as the Mewtwo we all know and love but is uniquely suited to the themes of this particular fanfic.

I dislike this point of Ash not trusting Professor Oak because he didn't believe stories Ash has told him about his more outrageous adventures. You acknowledge in-universe that both 4ever AND 2000 occurred. One of which Oak watched some of the events play out; and the other he was literally there as one of three main characters.

I don't really read fanfics like this. With lots of dark themes of trauma, angst and coping. Especially not Pokemon fanfics based in generations after 4. But you have crafted a compelling tale here and forced me to keep reading. My biggest suggestion is to lay out more of the history and stop hiding so much from the readers.

I actually read ahead just to see where the story was going. And I have to say, I am impressed at your improvement. You’re doing quite well with this story.

As for this chapter, I don’t really have much to say. Other than I recommend that you try simplifying your sentences. It takes practice and goodness knows I’m not that good at it myself. But sometimes simplicity gets the point across better. For example:

“His right hand seemed completely unable to produce any kind of Aura phenomenon- which normally was his good hand-, while his left could barely make the teensiest of Aura Spheres.”

A better way to rewrite this sentence could beHis right hand, normally his good one, was unable to produce any Aura; while his left could only produce the teensiest of aura spheres.”

A beta could help you catch some of the wording and condensing work. I honestly struggled with this myself for years, only recently through the help of my own beta, able to start seeing how to do it myself. As writers, we naturally want to be wordy to express as much of our ideas as possible. But sometimes our best work comes across when we are concise.
