I've actually read 3 of the 4 posted chapters but I just had to go back and write comments for you because as a writer myself I know how much they mean, and just. Boy howdy I love this fic a lot. It's so good. to keep things relevant to this chapter: I love the parallels you've made to Rapunzel's old life and her new one here. it makes perfect sense for her mother to be protective after having her baby stolen from her, but it also makes sense for Rapunzel to want that freedom she's been craving her whole life. Neither of them are the 'bad guy' here, so it's a really intriguing conflict, and I wonder where it will all end up going!

Hey, I know I already posted this review, but I wanted to redo it as a now-member of this site. I'm also surprised that I'm one of the only reviewers on this story, as it's a really good story. Ugh. Peasants. lol XD

I hope you update soon. I'm a little bummed out that there's no current Hiccunzel stories or updates to stories yet. Hope you're year has been great so far.

Totally. Maybe if you have the time maybe you could do a completely separate story or one-shot about Hiccandra. No one's ever done that yet, which means that you'd be the first writer EVER to make a fanfic on it. lol XD

Ugh! I know! But I love Hiccther and I think that the OTP deserves some love, Hiccther haters be burned! It disgusts me how liberal and hateful some Hiccstrid fans are. I had to deal with the Hiccstrid/Mericcup, Hiccstrid/Hiccelsa, and Hiccstrid/Hiccther wars on Pinterest and it almost got to the point where I almost wanted to severe my connection with Hiccstrid. But I love the OTP too much to let my disgust for some bully Hiccstrid fans ruin it. I'm a hard-core Hiccstrid fan but I'm entitled to ship him with other girls too. I'm not that strict. If anything everyone should hate Hiccstrid with the same fervor as Hiccther because Hiccstrid isn't canon. Because the only true canon OTP for HTTYD is Hiccazi (Hiccup x Camicazi) in the books. But whatever.

I'm bold when it comes to declaring my favorite ships, and if people don't like them and bash me for being "a traitor", I'll defend myself and call them out on their hypocrisy. No one tells me who to ship or not to ship. Everyone has the right to say they don't like or like something but they DON'T have the right to bash other people for liking a pairing. That's out-right cyber-bullying. *sighs* Sorry, I needed to rant. It's a pet-peeve of mine.

I agree, Hiccther isn't given enough love. Actually if you type "Hiccup" in the search, and then click "HTTYD" in categories, and then "Heather" in characters, you'll find over 100 fanfics of them. Though most of them are Hiccstrid fanfics where Heather is either his friend or sister. In whole there's about 20 or so fanfics that are Hiccther romance. Warandpeace, Namikaze, and Cke1st are most notable in their Heathercup fanfics, though mostly one or two at best.

And not only that, I'll make chocolate affordable and of the best quality and of the most quantity. I'm a chocoholic too, so I benefit from this. lol XD

Sure not a problem. Least I can do. I always review to writers that I love to show support. It's fine. It's called "life". It happens. Just so long as you're updating and not abandoning it (unlike countless others who've broken my heart), I'm good.

I love their interaction in the beginning there. I love how Hiccup incorporated Toothless and himself in the painting. And I also love how they had an intense stare-off. I was fanboying.

Also, we haven't been seeing a whole lot of Flynn. I also wouldn't mind getting some Cassandra action there. I REALLY love Cassandra because unlike Astrid, she can be ladylike when she has to be. It's almost like she has split personalities. lol XD

It's sad that the performance went well only to end poorly. Poor Rapunzel. I'm sure she's wishing in her heart that she was never a princess. I fear the pressure of being someone she's not might get the best of the situation. It really makes the series look like a fairytale. Though, as you say, it was geared for kids. And she transitioned as princess awfully quickly. Too quickly for someone who's been isolated with no human contact for her whole life.

I really worry that when they do get together that her parents will be furious and either imprison him or banish him or get him fired.

I'm impressed that you incorporated Hiccup's Viking past to Hookyhand and the Disney Vikings. Very creative. I wouldn't have thought of that. lol XD

Okay. Sorry. Just was making sure if this was a complete AU or a partial AU. I thought the horse that took his boot was Toothless at first.

And I'm sorry. I meant to say was I worry that Rapunzel will feel like she's acting like Gothel did (for completely different reasons of course). I get that. I can't imagine how I'd feel if I meet my kid for the first time since we reunited and then finding out that the kidnapper who took my child actually took the time to educate him/her while I was crying and hoping and longing for my child to return to my arms again.

I'm glad. I have enough fanfic authors who've broken my heart with unfinished awesome fanfics that I was salivating over. lol XD

Same here, because he's HICCUP. He's good with just about anybody. Save for Ruffnut. And a few others. I ship Hiccstrid, Hiccther, Hiccazi, Hiccelsa, Mericcup, Hiccanna, Hiccunzel, Tinkercup, Hiccariel, and Hiccup/Twilight-Sparkle. I'm probably forgetting somebody, but yeah. That's about it. Maybe Hiccandra (Hiccup and Cassandra)? Cassandra's from the new Tangled Series. You can watch them on either Hulu or Youtube. Or even Disney Channel.

I love what they did with it, albeit very built for kids. They really toned it down and it's too silly. Plus the parents are totally fine with Rapunzel doing whatever she wants despite the fact that they found her again after 18 years and wouldn't be willing to let her frolic out in the kingdom so easily. Though I feel as though her mother is more uptight (understandably) in your fanfic than in the Series, because in one episode she bonds over Rapunzel over her first portrait and how it was terrible but it revealed her true self and encourages Rapunzel to just be herself and not worry about posing.

And I agree, this is one of my favorites, probably because it's currently being updated, not in hiatus, AND it's well-written - including excellent grammar, explicit plot, flawless spelling . . . I can go on. There's very few that's not one-shots that have this quality. I'm only finding about three or four total fanfics (not including yours) that have this quality. I'm impressed. It's a very small and very underrated OTP fanbase, much like Hiccther (which I personally think should get more attention as an OTP than for what it's getting. The hate for Heather is the big reasons why it's not popular, despite the fact that Heather is the second staunchest supporter of Hiccstrid (Stoick is #1 Fan) and likes Fishlegs. And she's kick-butt and beautiful and intelligent. The perfect best girlfriend for Astrid which she DESPERATELY needs! Seriously, the hate's totally unnecessary and unfounded at this point.

Hey I have an inventive mind, so I'm sure it wouldn't be long now. lol I shall be my kingdom's most well-loved king because I saved my female subjects from dying from suffocation. Now to figure out how to lessen the pain of periods. I sympathize with females who feel pain. Wish I could take it away somehow. It hurts watching them hurt, know what I mean? :-/

I love the conversation between Hiccup and Rapunzel and I love their slowly-budding relationship (as in friends). I love how comfortable they are with each other and I especially loved how they discovered their mutual love for art and decided to paint together. It's so beautiful. :')

Maybe Hiccup can replace Mr. Can't-Recognize-Real-Art-When-He-Sees-It-Even-If-Bites-Him-In-The-Butt as her art teacher?

AAA Finally a good Hiccunzel Fanfic! I love it sooo much!

Soooo where’s Pascal? Rapunzel mentioned him but he’s been nowhere to be seen since.
I’m a little surprised Hookhand became the royal piano teacher so quickly, since he was a criminal like three weeks ago or so, but eyh, I’m happy for him.

Okay, tell me the truth. The King wants Eugene to learn a job because he still wishes for Rapunzel to marry some royal dude and that way Rapunzel won’t be so desperate if Eugene doesn’t end up in the streets and has a non-thievery related job and he doesn’t have to put him in jail again, right? X’) I mean come on.

I genuinely find this concept very interesting. I’m not sure Rapunzel would be happy as a princess: she longs for freedom to explore and discover the world, and the princess life will require for her to follow even more rules and etiquettes than Gothel (with slightly more freedom but more work and stress), and she’ll end up doing solely what they want her to do: rule a kingdom. That is definitely not the life a person who was trapped for 18 years needs or wants, and I’m not sure she’ll be happy, and you captured her slowly realizing her new life isn’t that perfect very well.
I ain’t sure yet, but I’m sensing you’re hinting at Eugene having just a crush on her, not true love, and that maybe he’s starting to be attracted to the rich life and studies that she can bring him more than to her as a person. It’s not exactly out of character all things considered, as long as it’s handled correctly and you show them as both realizing their feelings were not genuine without being cruel to each other. I say that, but I have no idea what your plans for this story is, so I’ll just read and see. I’m looking forward to you continuing this – even once every three weeks

Hey, don't get wrong, him being a stable master is actually perfect considering the circumstances. Is Toothless still a dragon or is he a horse?

I love this chapter and you conveyed everyone's reactions and thoughts and feelings perfectly! I felt bad for Rapunzel that everyone treats her like an illiterate buffoon who lived under a rock all her life. It's wrong. Brownie points to Hiccup for treating her differently.

I disagree with her mother's attitude towards her talent at embroidery. I worry that it'll cause a rift between her and her daughter and she'll start acting like Gothel.

I know. Do whatever you can. Just that I had my heart broken many times on this site because many fanfics I would read would be forced to end because the authors hadn't updated them in many years ~ basically abandoning them to rot. And they were really great fanfics too. I'm a new fan of Hiccunzel, as I disliked the ship for many years. But after seeing some fanart and stuff I slowly started liking them. I still love Jackunzel and Mericcup better. And I would rather having Hiccunzel be a BROTP. But I'm quickly starting to like it as an OTP because of how they compliment each other and how their similar personalities bring them together (only Rapunzel's an extrovert like me and Hiccup's an introvert, I think).

*winces* I feel bad that she has to use a corset. I hated those things, and I'm a guy. I always felt bad for the women, and wished that if I was a king in the medieval or Victorian ages, I'd banish corsets from the kingdom.

I hope Rapunzel can go to the concert to support her friend. It hurts to see her to put down her own personality in order to be the "perfect princess."
