Omg I just discovered this and this is so angsty! I've been so curious as to how Legacies will tackle the twins learning about the merge, and this just HURT me! I can't wait for the next part!

Ohmygosh I know you warned me but geez! Angst central and Lizzie said the words! The most forbidden saddest words I always dread with their family sense Alaric said them. "Your not my real mother." NOOOO

Okay, well first an foremost, I agree, I love Klaus and Lizzies relationship. It's my absolute favorite since you started writing this. If Lizzie ever ran away, obviously it would be to Klaus. I love that he encouraged them to branch out and leave MF and discover the world. Am I the only person who thinks about having the twins become heretics and living an eternal life with Klaroline. Am I buggin? All the stories I read its bittersweet about how Caroline had to watch her kids grow, they didnt even try to prolong their life, they just lived human. Now mind you, yes, college after high school even Caroline did that, even for a little while, and I loved Lizzies idea of not staying in MF, and leaving to explore by herself, not even with Josie or Hope. But yea, and after college, maybe travel the world, absorbing cultures. Get their Mikaelson on. Enjoy everything Klaus told them to...and you know, just not age. Win-win. No merge and Klaus x Lizzie forever. Plus the twins would still be able to do magic, vampires doesn't take away their siphoning ability. Mikaleson-heretic witches!

Is it wrong for me to say that I hope the twins spread their anger towards Alaric too. He's apart of this.

So would next chapter be Josie/Caroline? Or has Josie ran away too, to Klaus, or maybe to Kol? Would love to see Josie x Klaus, or ar least someone on the Mikalesons side that she's close too.

Its cool that Haley is still in here, and it seems like she seems fine with the blended family, so no problems from me. Would like to see how Hope and Caroline get on with each other, especially since Caroline has been a constant in Hope's life, to me, more than the rest in her early years while Hope's been at school.

A 4 parter sounds great and hopefully the last two of the four will have more reconciliation between the family and healing. I loved the angst! Dont get me wrong. Feel free to re read my review on last chapter. But I hope this gets resolved quickly and Klaus and the twins find a way to forgive and work through to finding solutions. I think Klaus should suggest vampirism, just saying * shrugging*.

The reason that I love this so much probably, and this is a standing ovation towards your writing; I love that the reactions to learning the Merge were so in character Lizzie. You did better than cannon. In the show, Alaric told rhem together and, besides tears in their eyes and soft spoken words as explanations, it was a stale scene to what was supposed to be a big topic discovery for the twins. I love yours way better.

I can not wait for your next chapter! I. Waiting on bated breath! I love this so much and cant wait to read Klaus and Lizzies conversation. Which will be emotional and broken but solid and reaffirming in only a way Klaus and Lizzie can be with each other. Will Lizzie stay with Klaus now? They both take a break from MF. Lizzie does her homework remotely or even leave and just is home schooled by Elijah or does to a normal human school in NOLA? Klaus and Lizzie extended time? I'm in! In all honesty, Klaus is Lizzie's dad. He's her rock and her everything, she would chose him everyday. Alaric begone! Just kidding, kinda not...not at all.

First of all, I loved Caroline's phone call to Klaus. It reminded me of Klaus' phone call to Caroline that she has kept for years. He is the love of her life. I love the relationship between Lizzie and Klaus. He is just an apprehensive stepfather and she loves him so much. The confrontation between Caroline and Lizzie was painful but I understand Lizzie's reaction to the merge story and she needs Klaus so much. I really like this story and hope to read another chapter soon

Aww Klaus. I hope he doesn't go away for too long. But I understand he needs a moment to himself to process this. in which I know he'll figure something out. Klaus is not gonna sick back and let them girls go through that. What I don't understand is why won't they turn the one who won't make it? Therefore they can keep both of their girls. I mean one will be an vampire and the other a witch but they'll still have them. Maybe that can be a loophole. And Caroline was right, it should've been her that told them but me I would've preferred both her and Alaric sat down and told him. Thanks for this chapter. Update when you can. first of all, happy birthday! thank you for this very angsty chapter but honestly, I beg you, we need more of this! at the beginning I wasn't sure about Klaroline family with kids and all but fics like yours make me crave to see more of this dynamic. something that we will sadly never experience... so back to my original point we need more of this, please...?

Ohmygoodness! I absolutely love! I get it, I really do. When I first read your warning at the top I was confused, because I just assumed that Klaus Mikaelson who has been around for centuries would know about all things powerful and with the potential to kill him, so I was surprised in this that he didnt know, but I am 100% on his side. Caroline should have told him the moment they had officially officially decided to be together, join families and start their forever. Especially since Klaus has been in their lives since they were kids! This has been wasted time! The twins are 17. 5 years to search for answers! If they would have told Klaus earlier, he would have had a decade more to talk to Freya, get in touch with his witch contacts, travel and discuss, time to find a definitive loophole and save the twins. I do truly get it from Klaus POV. He's helped raise these kids, if Alaric behaves anything like on the show, he's helped raise them more, and he's grown to love them, not just because their Caroline's kids, and he's grown to like them as individuals, not just because their Caroline's kids, but because their them, and he views them as his own now, and your telling him he's going to lose one of his little girls?

(Caroline totally shouldn't have separated the girls like that. Low blow, and she should know better because she was hurt and pissed when Alaric said something like that to her about the twins and them being his and Jo's, not her's. Low Blow Forbes)

I love the way you wrote Klaus emotion. His inner self and directed at Caroline. I love that he was honest about the hurt and betrayal that happened between them and it showed, and it killed me reading it. I swear I was whispering "Stupid Move, Caroline ", "stupid move" the whole way through. I like that he still told her he loves her, but that doesnt mean in the slightest that she hasn't broken trust or a piece of his heart. I really would like to see how they come back from that. How Caroline proves herself trustworthy again to the man who was practically born with trust issues and paranoia. Reading about how involved he's been with the twins through their lives was touching and showed the depth of his devotion to them.

I agree with Klaus calling Caroline naive about it though. They have set up a supernatural school and the twins visit New Orleans so often and probably learn quite a lot there and yet Caroline and Alaric for that matter are still treating this with human eye view. Klaus is right, they're not normal, neither is their life. A part of Alaric I know yearns for that, which is why he wanted to normalize the girls to human life when they were younger and move them away from Mystic Falls, like Jo had done with herself, giving up her magic and whatnot, but Caroline just followed Alarics law, for what! And now years have passed and it is obvious that normalcy isnt in the cards for this family (who has Klaus freaking Mikaelson as a member) and they should stop pretending it is.

If you do write a multi parts for this, I would love to see what happens next. Klaus is leaving for a day or two, but he'll be back. Will he demand Alaric and Caroline tell the twins about the Merge so it doesn't look like he's kept a life-altering decision from them. Will Hope be apart of this conversation? Will the twins be mad at Caroline and Alaric and retreat to be with Klaus and Hope a bit more. I'd understand if they did. Would love to see Lizzie and Klaus talk about it.

Would the loophole be one of the twins *cough, cough* [Lizzie] (fingers crossed) becoming a heretic? Can it be? Caroline, Klaus, Lizzie, maybe Hope, (maybe not, considering what she'll do with her vampire side), but the three of them becoming apart of the forever eternal family together. If Josie would like to be one, when she gets older, that would be okay too. Klaus could help Lizzie with her vampirism and her episodes if they get magnified. Caroline was a grade A vamp. That would be great. Do the twins even know that Heretics exists?

I loved this chapter! It was great, very angsty like you said, but monumental! So monumental that I forgot that it should be discussed and written. This was great! I love the Fluff and blended family togetherness, but this angst was necessary and amazing and showed that while things can be good, this little family are members of the supernatural world. Not everything is always rainbows and daisies.
